Newman Child Rushed to Hospital
On the heels of recent celebrity deaths, the Genoa City News has learned that local heiress and soon to be boarding school resident Summer Newman was rushed to the emergency room this week after suffering from a fatal attack of peanut allergy. Nurse Helen Smith won the office pool for correctly predicting a Newman child would next grace their presence and pocketed fifty bucks for her lucky guess. Newman family attorney Michael Baldwin issued a statement to the press which sought to deny rumors that all Newman children are allergic to nuts and offered Nicholas, Victoria and Abby as examples. Test results are forthcoming. Viewpoint

Reader Kathy notes that "Only in Genoa City has Ashley not been going for regular prenatal care (especially at her age) at a doctors office, just creepy house calls from Olivia and Adam's friend." Worse, a so concerned about his crazy girlfriend Victor Newman didn't make the Harvard connection between the Adam and the doctor and doesn't seem to care that a falling down stairs Ashley roams around at will. As we do every week, the GCN has a running list of things that can only happen in Genoa City.
