October Flashback
For
week of 10.28.02
Jack
and Phyllis Abbott were in a tizzy. They had to find a way to prove that
Diane Jenkins framed Phyllis; that she hired someone to buy turpentine from a hardware
store. In a silly attempt to trick Diane into thinking she had Jack back, Phyllis
pretended to leave the Abbott home.
Victoria Newman was set in her ways. She refused to return to the Newman
ranch until her daddy accepted Diego Guittierez. Victor Newman had no trouble finding the
roach motel where Guittierez was staying with his daughter. He dropped by to offer the
former stable boy a bribe. $100,000 in $100 bills to get out of town. When Diego refused
Victor told him, "I'll make your life a living hell," tossed the money on a
table and left.
Larry Warton was bummed. Jill Abbott was treating him like a "dirty
little secret" and he wanted to go public. Jill said as soon as she had him groomed
she'd be taking Larry to the Black and White Ball, which incidentally, never happened. In
Jill's bed, Larry panicked when the maid knocked on the door. He escaped through the
window, down the drain pipe and crashed to the ground in the process alerting Katherine
Sterling who now knew Larry was hitting the sheets with Jill.
Paul Williams was excited that his son would soon be baptized and that
Lauren Fenmore would be the boy's godmother. As he told godfather Andy Richards all about
it the Bug slithered into the Newman Jitter Joint for a meeting with Michael Baldwin. The Bug
was 12-hours late replying to his marriage proposal but finally said yes.
After the baptism the reception was held at the RoadKill Cafe. The Bug was the first guest
to arrive. Because the baby was in the way Dizzy Izzy took the boy
upstairs where a waitress was ordered to watch him. Paul was upset when Baldwin strolled
in and introduced himself again to Izzy's father who had flown in from California. Ricardo
Brana apologized for not being very nice when Baldwin represented Izzy in a court
proceeding years ago. The case was not discussed because Paul flew into a rage and ordered
Baldwin to leave. Before going, Baldwin told the crowd that the Bug had accepted his
marriage proposal.
Brittany Hodges supposedly followed the court order to perform community
service at the homeless shelter but other than showing up to get a work schedule was never
seen doing any work. Her parents were upset that she was seeing Raul Guittierez and
because Brittany wouldn't toe the line, her credit cards were taken away. In a snit,
Brittany moved out of her parents home and into a roach motel with Raul.
Fred Hodges went to Jabot where he planned to cut a deal with the
cosmetics company in which Jabot would be granted a loan to expand its Japanese market.
When Fred arrived he was shocked to see Warton ranting at Jill Abbott that he was tired of
being her boytoy and was returning the pair of red Speedo's, scented oils handcuffs and
mask. Jill fired Warton on the spot.
Remembering her tape, Ashley Carlton demanded Olivia Winters give it
back. She went by the doctor's office and outside the door was shocked when she heard Dr.
Winters talking to her sister about having fallen in love with Brad Carlton.
For
week of 10.21.02
Ashley
Carlton was shocked when her best and only friend in the whole wide world told
her that she had looked at the videotape on which Carlton confessed that Victor Newman is
the father of her baby.
"How could you betray me like this?" Ashley howled, only to be scolded by Olivia
Winters for not having told her husband. As expected, Ashley melted like butter and went
on to tell how she stole Victor's sperm. When Olivia threatened to tell Brad, Ashley
called her "a dangerous person" and told her to butt out and never did get the
tape back.
Meantime at the RoadKill Cafe, owner Gina Roma was giving Brad Carlton
his wife's credit card she had left behind after eating steak the very same day her
chemotherapy had ended. Roma ran her mouth about how Ashley had been seen with Newman and
this, of course, sent Brad straight to Newman's office where he warned the great man for
the umpteenth time to stay away from his wife.
Later, Dru Winters told Brad to stop "messing" with her sister.
Brad pretended not to know what she was talking about, but Dru said she knew because she
had picked up "vibes".
On the teen scene: For lying about seeing an older boy when she had been told repeatedly
not to, Colleen Carlton was grounded.
After
grounding his granddaughter, old man John Abbott warned Hellstrom to stay away from
15-year old girls. The moment the old geezer walked away J.T. got a call from Colleen who
said don't sweat the small stuff. She would sneak out at night to be with her man. J.T.
heeded the warning and hung up on Colleen, however, effectively ending whatever they had
going.
Although the judge had ruled Brittany Hodges would have to perform
community service for driving under the influence, she told J.T. Hellstrom that she hadn't
gone off to college because the judge kept delaying her hearing. But, as a way to make
herself look good whenever the judge did rule, she was going to do volunteer work at the
homeless shelter.
In jail for breaking into the law offices of Baldwin & Williams, Michael Baldwin
dropped the charges against Mary Williams and Lynne Bassett. The file
folder police put in a plastic bag and took to the jail with them was never explained.
Paul Williams bailed Bassett out of jail and then went to check on his
mother at the hospital. The stress of getting arrested had caused Mary to faint.
Regardless that his mother had committed a crime, Williams blamed Baldwin for putting his
mother in the hospital. As usual, Williams went straight to Baldwin's office where he
threw a hissy fit.
The reality was that Mary was fine, would not have to pay for her medical treatment and
checked out the following morning. The old woman told the Bug that she wanted to get
something on her son's wife because she didn't want Izzy Williams, "that
she-devil" raising her grandson. Furthermore, Mary considered Izzy "a dangerous
woman."
At almost the same instance, Diane Jenkins was telling Izzy that Phyllis
Abbott "is a dangerous woman" and that she had hired a bodyguard. If a grand
jury didn't indite Abbott, Diane was planning to leave town. The words had no sooner left
Diane's mouth when word came down that Phyllis had been charged with attempted murder.
Strange as it may sound, while Phyllis' lawyer was at Jack Abbott's office a messenger
from the court knew to bring a letter from Judge Warren and a discovery box from the DA's
office directly to John Silva who was there discussing the case - again
without Phyllis present.
Part of the discovery evidence included a surveillance tape on which a woman looking like
Phyllis was seen buying turpentine at a hardware store. It was nearly impossible to see
the woman's face as she wore dark glasses and hair covered most of her face.
Phyllis hightailed it over to the Newman Jitter Joint to tell Larry Warton
she was only kidding when she asked him if he knew where she could hire a hit man.
Where Lily Winters was concerned, her parents were out in space. Neil and
Dru knew their daughter was troubled but had no idea where to start other than putting
Lily in school. Closer to Lily than anyone, Dr. Wesley Carter surmised she was in the
early stages of depression.
As for Nick Newman he had concluded that his marriage to Sharon was a
joke and planned to move off the ranch. While a divorce would "devastate" his
kids he thought nothing of a separation. Cassie Newman was pissed. All this time she
thought they were going to be a family and now this.
Nikki Newman was happy. She had always known that Sharon wasn't
"worthy" of her sweet boy. Victor Newman told her that they should stay out of
their children's lives but then turned right around and said that he planned to make
Victoria Newman - now living in a motel with Diego Guittierez - see the errors of her
ways.

week of 10.14.02
Having
heard via the grapevine that his former wife was sleeping with attorney Michael Baldwin,
detective Paul 'Cluless' Williams asked Christine 'Bug' Blair if it were
true and was immediately told to mind his own damn business. That very same day Baldwin
gave the Bug an engagement ring and asked her to marry him. The Bug said she'd think about
it and give him an answer when she got back from a business trip. That night, Williams
booked a room at the local brothel/restaurant where he had sex with Izzy Williams.
Meantime, Mary Williams and Lynne 'Yes-Boss' Bassett had gotten it into
their heads that they would find out about Izzy Williams past. "I've learned a few
tricks about doing an investigation from working with Paul," Bassett said, addig that
she knew there must be something on Izzy in Baldwin's office. Later that night the two
women broke into the law offices of Baldwin and Williams when Bassett managed to pick the
lock. She forgot about the motion detector, however.
When the cops busted the prowlers Mary was holding a file folder. Despite Mary's plea that
she couldn't be arrest they were and taken to jail. While being fingerprinted Mary denied
knowing the legendary Carl Williams and when told she would have to spend the night in a
cell, fainted.
All Brittany Hodges got for driving while drinking was a suspended
sentence and some community service time. Her mother thought working at daddy's bank might
qualifty. The only thing Brittany was looking forward to was the new car she was going to
get with the insurance proceeds.
Raul Guittierez was released from the hospital. Ordered by his doctor to
wear a back brace and to get physical therapy, his first stop was the Newman Jitter Joint
where he said that given his physical condition going to college was out of the question.
After picking up Diego Guittierez on the highway, Victoria Newman drove
straight to the Newman ranch and they had sex in the tackyroom. Afterwards, Victoria went
to tell her mother how much in love she was. She did not pass Victor Newman on the trail.
Old man Newman called Diego "a conniving snake" and ordered him off the ranch.
When Diego said he was in love with Victoria, Newman bellowed "you had sex with my
son's wife" and then kicked him between the legs just as Victoria was returning.
Upset, Ms. Newman said that where Diego goes - she goes.
Over in the outhouse Sharon Newman was having trouble sleeping. She
strolled up to the main house wearing nothing but a skimpy swimsuit and went for a swim.
The cold October night heated up when Nikki Newman appeared and began hurling hate. Anyone
who would cheat on their husband can't get much lower. Sharon shot back that Nikki's son
was a dog too since Nick Newman had porked Grace Turner in the past. Nikki spat that it
could happen again began Turner was back in town.
Sharon zoomed down to the outhouse to confront her husband. Nick said it was true. Turner
was in town but it did not matter since Sharon had betrayed him. "You slept with her
didn't you? You son of a bitch!" Sharon screamed. "Try twice," Nick
smirked, causing Sharon to pound on the chest and this in turn made Nick so horny her
porked Sharon right then and there. But when the act was over Nick said he wanted a
separation.
Sharon was stunned. After they had sex he wanted to call it quits? "That was just
sex," Nick beltched.
When Dr. Wesley Carter was summoned he rushed right over to Dr. Olivia
Winters' cave to ask he she had watched the Ashley Carlton videotape. Olivia said yes, she
had watched and the tape contained information that could hurt a lot of innocent people.
At the end of her chemotherapy the first thing Ashley Carlton did was to
eat a big juicy steak.
Busted for seeing J.T. Hellstrom after she was repeatedly told to stay away from
hunkmonkeys older that her, Colleen Carlton confessed to her grandfather
while Hellstrom pleaded with Jill Abbott not to rat Carlton out. Jill said she had to tell
old man Yawn Abbott the truth because, "that's the kind of family we are." Jill
added, "
I'd never lie" to the geezer when it fact her marriage to him was predicated on lies.
That very same night, after told again to stay away from the hunkmonkey, Colleen met with
Hellstrom at the park.
For
week of 10.07.02
In
suite 857 at the Genoa City Hotel, Diane Jenkins was scared out of her
wits. Phyllis Abbott had - in a public place - threatened to "get her".
Meantime, out on bail, the evidence was piling up against Abbot. Accelerant had been found
in the truck of her husband's car, she had left the Newman wedding reception early and
gardening gloves thought to have been worn by her had been found at the Abbott home.
Within moments of obtaining a restraining order, Jenkins was stunned when Phyllis slipped
into her hotel room. For all the fear, Diane had forget to lock the door.
Before Phyllis could do anything there was a knock at the door. Detective Hank
Weber ordered Phyllis to leave as Diane told him how she was acting crazed. Weber
had trudged all the way to the hotel to ask one question. Was Abbott aware that she had
taken a sleeping pill on the night of the fire? Jenkins said yes. Moments later Jack
Abbott would get the news. The charge against his wife had been upgraded to attempted
murder.
It was also interesting to note that all this time Mrs. Abbott's lawyer, John
Silva, would only discuss the case with her husband.
Cassie Newman was scared too. Just when she had thought her parents had
solved their marital woes and that they would all live as a family again forever and ever,
her adopted daddy hadn't come home the previous evening. This, of course, caused Cassie to
start having bad dreams and she demanded that her mother tell what was going on.
When Nikki Newman saw Grace Turner she blew as gasket. Turner said she
was in town on business but Nikki said she knew it wasn't true since Turner works for
Jabot's New York office. "I've been on the board for years," Newman lied,
implying she knew the movement of every employee and could check it out. Turner pointed
out she didn't say company business and that her reason for being in town was personal.
Always the bitch, Newman barked "you don't have family here" and went on to
accuse Turner of being after her son. And if it were true, Newman warned Turner
"you'll have to answer to me".
Nikki mentioned her suspicion that something wasn't right with her son's marriage to
Victor Newman. The great man went to see his daughter-in-law and noticed right away that
she didn't seem like herself. Sharon Newman was a nervous wreck. She whined to Newman of
having made a "horrible mistake" and Newman said she could tell him as he
wouldn't judge her.
"I cheated on Nick. I had sex with another man," Sharon confessed, and again
made the point that it didn't mean anything and only happened once.
As for Diego Guittierez the former Newman ranch stable boy was making
plans to leave the city. And while he hardly knew Larry 'Wartman' Warton he told the
Wartman all about his personal life one day at the Newman Jitter Joint. The Wartman even
followed Diego to the RoadKill Cafe where he met with his parents to tell them he was
leaving again.
Later, out on the highway hitchhiking, Diego was surprised when a car stopped. Inside,
behind the wheel, was Victoria Newman.
As Brad Carlton whined to Olivia Winters about his troubled marriage he
was unaware that her evil sister was taking it all in. When Dru Winters was spotted she
told Brad that his wife "is in my prayers" and later told Dr. Wes Carter,
"I think my sister is messing with her best friend's husband." Brad was doing
more than messing. He was about to screw the butcher when his conscience kicked in and
stopped him.
Upset that Brad didn't pork her, Olivia pulled out the videotape she was holding for
Ashley Carlton and popped it in the VCR. She was stunned when she heard Ashley say that
Victor Newman is the father of her baby.
Meantime Ashley was still wallowing in self-pity. Looking into a mirror she screamed at
the image, "I hate you." Then she ripped off her wig and yelled again. Flipping
back to normal mode, Ashley went on to tell Brad no less than three times what an
"amazing" man he is.
On the Paul Williams scene, family and friends were still making
preparations for the christening of baby Ricardo Carl. Paul wanted Andy Richards to be the
godfather but couldn't locate him. Lauren Fenmore had already agreed to be the godmother.
The reception would be at the home of Mary Williams. Or, so Mary thought. Izzy Williams
changed the location to the RoadKill Cafe and Mary was pissed.
"What a slap in the face that is!" she snarled.
Paul explained there wouldn't be enough room at his mother's home because of the people
they had invited. This was odd considering that a few days earlier Izzy said she had only
one person on the guest list. One of the invitees was Christine 'Bug' Blair
and because Paul knew his former wife would be bringing Michael Baldwin along he ordered
Izzy to cancel the Bug's invite.
Also this week the Bug was notified by her landlord that the lease on her bug nest was
about to expire. The Bug said she purposely let it run out as she wanted to move.
Furthermore, she could be out by the weekend. To save money the Bug planned to move back
into the condo she once shared with Paul. The same apartment where she had witnessed him
cheating on her.
