Isabella Brana, Serious Trouble?
It always seems to happen this way. Strangers with checkered backgrounds blow into Genoa City needing help and whether at the airport, the bus depot or the railroad station manage to find someone to direct them to the likes of detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams.

"I'm in serious trouble. I was told you may be the only person who can help me," were the words which rolled out of Isabella Brana's mouth here Thursday when the stranger walked into the Clueless Detective and Alarm Company.

If Brana really is in serious trouble she only made it worse by going to Williams. Had Brana checked with a private detective referral service she might have learned that Genoa City's bumbling detective hasn't solved a case since his current wife was kidnapped years ago. Even then, Clueless needed Victor Newman's help solving the case when he came up with a Tinkertoy® type tracking device which didn't have the ability to detect movement through walls!

Whatever happens with Brana, observers here are praying it will not turn out to be a rerun of the Cassandra Rawlins case.

Clueless Takes Easy Case!
Saying it's a case he can solve in just two days, detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams has agreed to take the case of the paranoid woman known as Isabella Brana.

Genoa City's most clueless detective didn't ask Brana for any identification even after she admitted the name she had first given was a maiden name. In reality, Brana claims to be Mrs. James Franklin whose husband went to prison for unspecified 'business misdeeds' in 2000.

Brana added her five year marriage fell apart when she refused to falsely testify in her husband's defense as requested by Franklin's shady lawyers. A one-time visit with her husband at the prison turned ugly. Since that day she's had a feeling she's being followed and that her life may be in danger.

Claiming at first to be too busy, Clueless tried to shine Brana on but changed his mind when Brana insisted he's the only person she'll trust. Not just because she was told, incorrectly, that Clueless is the best PI in town, but because Samantha Lee, who at one time worked with Mrs. Christine Williams, recommended Clueless based on all the work he did to bring Michael Baldwin to justice.

Detective Clueless stated it should only take a few days for him to determine whether Brana is really being followed and if so, he'll be able to "squeeze" her case in and complete it in no time. Clueless did not ask Brana what events, if any, other than an argument nearly a year ago, have led her to believe she's been followed and what, if anything, has happened that would make her think she's in danger.

Clueless Case Goes Into Toilet!
What could have been an interesting mystery has quickly gone down the toilet. The case of Isabella Brana began to swirl out of control when Genoa City's most incompetent detective, Paul 'Clueless' Williams, failed to ask his client for some identification.

A total stranger, Brana admitted the name she had first given was a maiden name but buttered Williams up by praising him for helping to put away attorney Michael Baldwin years ago. Williams agreed to take the case without asking Brana how she intends to pay not only Clueless' fee but the fees of two - count 'em - two other private investigators Clueless plans to hire to keep an eye on Brana.

Alarm bells from the Williams side business should have gone off or red flags raised in Williams pea brain when a total stranger walked into his office claiming she hadn't eaten for days and had no place to live. Williams didn't ask the woman why she hadn't eaten or where she came from.

Brana now admits her husband, James Franklin, said to be in prison for shady business dealings, subjected her to a series of beatings before entering the slammer and she only stayed with him because he made her believe his legal troubles were her fault.

Now, Brana fears someone is following her although she hasn't an iota of proof. While she hasn't seen dark shadows lurking around corners she does have a 'feeling' that her husband has hired someone to cause her bodily harm yet there is no evidence. No late night phone calls. No tampering with her car, etc.

Always the brilliant detective, Williams informed his client he intends to provide her with 'round the clock protection until it can be determined if she really is being followed. All services are being provided without so much as a dime shelled out on Brana's part as a retainer including free room and board at the Genoa City Hotel.

The case went into the toilet when Clueless failed to ask Brana how she intends to pay. The case got flushed when Clueless sent Brana down to a bookstore in the lobby with a female office worker! "I don’t want you leaving the building until we’re ready. If you’re being followed someone is out there waiting for you to leave," Williams said.

Brana was grateful. And who wouldn't be after snookering a bozo detective to take her case for free? "Thank you for taking my case, Mr. Williams. My friend Samantha is right. You are taking good care of me," Brana said.

April 2001

Real Danger Calls For Action!
Paul Williams, Genoa City's super-sleuthing clueless detective, unveiled a remarkable plan here Monday to discover whether or not his latest client, the mysterious Isabella Brana, is being followed by forces of darkness.

It didn't matter that a sub-detective Clueless hired to follow Brana has reported she isn't being followed and Brana herself has admitted she may be imagining things. But wanting to make sure Williams has ordered Brana to pack her stuff for a short trip out of town.

"Load your car and drive off. We want anyone watching to think you are leaving town for good," Williams carefully instructed Brana as he outlined the rest of his clever plan. "Pull off and wait before you get on the freeway."

Seemingly confused as to the purpose of pulling off the highway, Brana breathed a sigh of relief when Williams added his sub-operatives, Fred and Kip, would be close behind and that Brana should not worry.

Secure with the knowledge she's in good hands, Brana agreed to answer a question Williams put to her about the length of her husband's prison sentence. Brana was unable to give an explanation citing her husband never discussed his business dealings with her and she apparently didn't attend the trial or read about it in the papers.

Williams thought for a moment before answering his own question, "The government sometimes uses tax evasion to put persons in jail for other illegal activities."

It was at that moment Williams made the decision to take over the surveillance.

"Are you saying I'm really in danger?" Brana inquired.

Williams wasn't sure but he knew one thing. If Brana is in peril he's going to be there when it happens.

Mystery Woman Found Collapsed!
After a brief cruise Tuesday up Interstate 39 detective Paul Williams has determined that his client, the mysterious Isabella Brana, is not being followed by the evil forces of darkness. During the trip however, Brnia did notice a blue van in the rearview mirror which turned out to be nothing more than what appeared to be a woman and some children.

Satisfied he had successfully completed another mission Williams dropped his client off at an office building where Brana announced she would be returning to her Genoa City hotel room and then onward to Los Angeles. It was only then that the always inept detective offered to escort Braia back to Genoa City.

Brana declined the offer, thanked Williams for his services but made no mention of how the detective should bill for his time.

Williams returned to his office alone, told his lapdog secretary the Brana case is over and psyched himself up to telephone his estranged wife in Hong Kong. Just as Williams was about to pick up the phone, Brana stumbled into the office, staggered a bit, weaved a little and as Williams rushed to her aid, collapsed into his arms and passed out.

No details regarding Brana's medical condition were immediately forthcoming.

Mystery Man Attacked Woman!
The enigmatic Isabella Brana refused medical treatment here Wednesday after collapsing inside the office of Genoa City's notoriously clueless detective, Paul Williams.

Williams was seen applying antiseptic on a painful abrasion Brana suffered on her arm and made a medical decision that the cut would not require suturing. At the same time, office manager Lynne 'Yes-Boss' Bassett stood by asking Brana if she felt nauseous or dizzy.

Williams had the inclination to summon an ambulance but Brana refused claiming she wasn't hurt and went on to explain how she was attacked by a man at her hotel who "came out of nowhere", grabbed her wrists, put a hand over her mouth and proceeded to deliver a message from her imprisoned husband.

Rather than seek assistance from the hotel staff or call police Brana stumbled her way to the Clueless Detective and Alarm Company where she collapsed.

The attacker made it clear Brana's husband expects his wife to go to the authorities and provide an alibi for a crime for which he has already been convicted.

Although an alibi would not help in a tax evasion case, Williams deduced Brana's husband must really want something else.

Refusing to return to the hotel, Brana appeared confused as to what she should do next and was relieved when Bassett offered her domicile as a refuge. But Williams had a better idea. For the time being, Brana will hold up at his apartment.

Showdown With The Mob?
Speculation that detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams may soon find himself tangling with the mob again mounted Wednesday when the super-sleuth confirmed with the Green Bay District Attorneys office that James Franklin was in fact laundering money and could have a mob connection.

The spouse of Isabella Brana, Franklin was subsequently sent to prison on income tax evasion and is now allegedly threatening his wife and having her followed. "I’m sorry I got you into this," Brana apologized to Williams at his ultra-secure West side apartment. "It’s my job. Don’t worry about it," Williams said shrugging off any concern for his own safety.

Bringing his lap-dog office manager up to speed on the case Williams sent Lynne 'Yes-Boss' Bassett off alone to fetch his client's personal belongings from a local hotel with a word of caution. "Make sure you’re not followed."

Admitting he doesn't know what his next step will be Williams said he'll have to research the case more. "I want to find out about James Franklin so that I can tell Ms. Brana her life is not in danger."

Williams last became involved with the mob when in 1982 Police Captain Frank Lewis asked him to infiltrate the mob in connection with a police corruption case.

Detective Wears Heart on Sleeve!
The focus of an investigation into why a man would have his wife threatened simply to force her to testify in a case that has long since been closed shifted slightly today when detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams began spewing explicit details about his personal life to a total stranger.

The phenomenon strikes many residents of Genoa City and Williams is no exception. At his apartment Thursday Williams momentarily forgot he was in the presence of mystery woman, client and new roommate Isabella Brana. Grasping a photograph of his dear wife Williams began having flashbacks of better days holding hands with the love of his life and walking along a Hawaiian beach.

"Where were you just now? You seemed like you were a million miles away. Thinking about your wife?" Brana pried.

Rather than brush her comment off as an annoyance, Williams began to ramble how he first fell in love with Christine 'Bug' Romalotti.

"You come to closure with old feelings and it opens a door to the future," Brana philosophized before, in a patronizing tone said, "You’ve helped me stop running from myself. You are not only a skillful detective but you’re my counselor as well. I don’t know if I can ever repay you."

Williams seemed to take the remark in stride. After all, aren't all private detectives supposed to take clients into their homes, provide personal body guards at no expense and share their personal trials and tribulations?

Office Manager Jealous?
For years she secretly pined for her boss but at every turn was shot down receiving nothing more than a pat on the head and finally appeared to give up the notion there could ever be anything between them.

But this week Lynne 'Yes-Boss' Bassett looked as if she were going to rip somebody's face off when employer Paul 'Clueless' Williams relationship with a female client took on the appearance of turning into something more than professional.

Bassett swaggered into her boss' office and slamming down some file folders gazed angrily into space. "What's the matter, Lynne?" asked former Diane Jenkin's personal butt-wiper turned office clerk/gofer, Marissa Barton.

"It’s Paul. He’s had other clients at his home before but nothing like this," Bassett growled.

The sudden concern has led some to speculate Bassett may have renewed idolization for her boss. But why she would have developed romantic feelings for Williams again after so many rejections and why she would care who stays with Williams remains a mystery.

Even with Mary Williams help Bassett has never been able to score with her boss. Mrs. Williams once pressed her son to take an interest in his loyal puppy-dog secretary but to no avail. Until Basset learns how to act like a whore - the type of woman Williams craves - she's unlikely to ever get off with her boss.

Matching Purse and Shoes?
Returning from a trip to South Bend, Indiana where he had hoped to get a clue in the Nick Newman case, detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams reported Wednesday the plastic surgeon who worked on suspect Matt Clark never took a photograph of the patient and Clueless was too dumb to bring one of Carter Mills with him.

"Clark didn’t show up when it was time to remove his bandages. The doctor said he made so many changes he can’t even predict what Clark would look like now," Williams explained throwing up his hands in desperation as his latest client, Isabella Brana, walked in accompanied by a body guard, coffee and rolls.

"I missed you," Brana cooed as Williams wondered how she knew what his favorite rolls are. "You mentioned it the other day. I guess your attention to detail is rubbing off on me. I haven’t been around a detective before," Brana spewed in obvious patronization.

Clueless was so impressed he decided to tell the story of how he once chased an ex-husband who owed child support, lost his billfold and identification, was arrested for fleeing from the FBI and thrown in jail.

"My cell mate was a transvestite who gave me a good tip. Your purse should always match your shoes," Clueless chuckled provoking a giggle from Brana. Watching his client laugh at a stupid joke made Clueless realize "it's been a long time since I've laughed like that."

May 2001

Mysterious Client Goes Missing!
Employees of the Clueless Alarm & Detective Agency swung into action Tuesday when its prime, albeit mysterious client, Isabella Brana slipped away for parts unknown.

Brana was reportedly upset at the time that detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams had dug up some dirt on her former husband. Since she is no longer being followed, Brana didn't think stirring things was appropriate.

Because Williams is so clueless, he didn't think to tell Brana that if, as she says, she isn't being followed there is no reason for her to be in protective custody. Just pay her bill, move out of his apartment and consider the case closed.

Brana easily tricked her bodyguard into leaving her side for a few moments and later turned up at the Williams & Baldwin law offices where attorney Michael Baldwin was heard asking, "What are you doing here?" Brana replied, "I want out," again confirming reports that Baldwin hired Brana as a wedge between Williams and his wife.

Baldwin's plan might have worked had he thought it all the way through. What Baldwin didn't plan on was that Brana would fall for Williams and it appears Williams has fallen for her.

Knee-Deep In Debt?
Isabella Brana left more questions unanswered than answered here Wednesday after the mysterious woman was seen discussing a "debt" with local attorney Michael Baldwin.

"I’ve more than repaid my debt to you," Brana squealed making it clear to Baldwin of her intent to leave Genoa City immediately. "I’m leaving town tonight and you can’t stop me."

Choosing his words carefully, Baldwin didn't elaborate on what hold he has on the woman but did indicate some suspicion about Brana's reasons for wanting to leave.

Brana said she's uncomfortable now that detective Paul Williams is digging into her past and feels it is only a matter of time until Williams figures out what she and her former husband were up to before they got married.

Whatever was between Baldwin and Brana took place years ago so it is unlikely a clueless detective would be able to make a hot link out of a cold trail.

At any rate, Brana is determined to move on and Baldwin doesn't seem too upset about her leaving because, "I have less at stake now."

Baldwin did offer Brana his spare bedroom for the night but she choose to spend the night at his office on the sofa and agreed to meet with Baldwin again.

One Good Reason To Stay!
Detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams has beseeched Isabella Brana, the mysterious woman he's fallen head over heels for, to stay in Genoa City.

The plea was forthcoming Friday during a meeting between the two at one of this city's most prestigious restaurants. "I know all about your past. You don’t have to leave to keep that hidden. If you leave now you’ll be running for the rest of your life. You’ll always think someone is following you," Williams implored.

When it became obvious Brana wasn't interested, Williams pulled an ace out of his sleeve. "Stay and I’ll find out who is doing this to you. It will be over and last but not least, you’ll have a chance to spend more time with my mother."

The offer hit Dizzy Izzy like a ton of bricks. Who in their right mind wouldn't take an offer to spend time with an old busybody hag? Brana wanted to shout 'Yes - I'll stay' from the rooftops but managed to control herself by giving Clueless a non-committal hug.

At a nearby table, attorney Michael Baldwin listened with great interest. When Williams departed without spotting the man behind the newspaper, Baldwin asked Brana if she's decided to stay.

"I’m not working for you anymore. Our deal is over," Brana snarled before Baldwin instructed her to stay long enough to push Williams deeper into the tunnel of love. Assured Williams might never be able to figure out the true story about her past, Brana phoned Williams and asked what she should bring to his mother's dinner party. Williams suggested the two day old salad she had prepared earlier.

Stranger In A Strange Land
Abnormal as it may seem, detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams showed up Tuesday at the Newman ranch for the ostensibly non-stop welcome home Nick Newman party. Williams appearance alone would not have been unusual had it not been for dragging along his latest client, Isabella Brana. Except for the unstable Mrs. Sharon Newman, none of the party goers thought Brana's presence the least bit odd.

Mrs. Newman developed a strange look on her face when she observed Williams touching Brana's cheek and remarked that Mrs. Williams working relationship with attorney Michael Baldwin is adversely affecting the PI's marriage.

Other oddities at the Newman party included the return of Mrs. Newman's mother, BoreUs Collins. Collins was nowhere to be found during her daughter's most recent calamity during which Newman was nearly raped. However, Collins did say she had received bad vibes about the evil Matt Clark but didn't mention the important clue at the time.

Dizzy Woman Must Move!
Detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams almost got a grip on reality here Thursday when the super-sleuth came to the conclusion that allowing his latest client to continue living at his apartment could spell doom to his marriage.

Williams plans to continue his investigation into Isabella 'Izzy' Brana's sketchy case but fears it could take longer than expected. Already provided with a bodyguard, there is no reason Brana should be living with Williams and the PI worked up the courage to tell Brana the time has come for her to find another place to live.

"Why? I like it here," Brana objected." I have to do this if I want to try save my marriage," Williams replied but again failed to inform Brana that except for the one time, no threats have been made on her life and it is inappropriate for any client to be living with him. In addition, Clueless did not instruct Brana to stop answering his telephone.

While allowing Brana time to ponder her next move, Clueless wandered off to take a shower. Right on cue, Williams' wife phoned from Hong Kong. Brana's offer to take a message caused Mrs. Williams to become very irritated. Hearing the phone, Clueless returned dressed only in a robe to see what his wife wanted but Mrs. Williams was so outraged that her husband could be dumb enough to allow another woman to hang out at their home she hung up.

The discouraged looking detective seemed to have received the message. Get rid of that skank before it's too late.

PI Gives In - Commits Adultery!
What's worse than an insecure, scum-sucking, fornicating woman? An insecure, scum-sucking, fornicating man.

Detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams became such a man on Monday at the moment he swapped a load of spit with his live-in client, Isabella Brana. For all intents and purposes, Williams committed adultery. Although short lived, the thrill of cheating on his wife was overbearing. Williams recognized the appeal and snapped up the opportunity undoubtedly because he couldn't help himself.

Weak men like Clueless are taught at an early age to be terrified of abandonment. Once they find a woman willing to love and marry them they feel quite secure. But if that woman should move into a career that takes her away from the man for even the briefest time, the man feels lost and alone.

Like many men in Genoa City, Williams never quite gave up on the childish fantasy that somehow, someday, he'd find someone all his own who would want only him. The destructive fantasy keeps him looking for love in all the wrong places.

Despite knowing that adultery is wrong, Williams still does not understand it. It's time he and other men in this city stop ignoring, excusing, and condemning this epidemic.

Adultery is about sex. Brana appears to radiate motherly warmth and Williams may have felt the need to snuggle next to his mother's bosom when he found himself having a hard time dealing with the reality that his wife would be out of his life for a few more days. That, however, was just Brana's allure.

The Bug's independence and aloofness may have reminded Williams of his father with whom he had to compete for his mother's love. He may have rationalized his attraction to Brana was emotional rather than physical and that since intercourse did not take place his kissing Brana was acceptable.

Williams may have rationalized he was not hurting the Bug because she would not know about the kiss. Forbidden sex can seem to be nothing more than a delicious indulgence but in actuality this "simple pleasure" is more comparable to cocaine, addictive and potentially lethal.

Even if the Bug never finds out, she will be hurt. Williams is trying to escape the need to grow and change within his marriage. He is being dishonest and it will erode his marriage even more than it already has. If Williams really values the Bug who he professes to love, it would behoove him not to further betray her.

Clearly, Williams is suffering from pathetic self-delusion.

Rental Units Hard To Find
In a thriving city where the average apartment rents for $1,200 a month, even a well-known private detective can have difficulty finding one.

Detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams had hoped to move his live-in client, dizzy Izzy Brana, into her own apartment but discovered Genoa City's booming economy has pushed rents so high that most apartments are far out of reach or going to the highest bidder.

With revenue from alarm installations at an all-time low and no income to speak of due to an inability to solve private investigation cases, Williams has found himself among the working poor who have been squeezed out of the housing market.

"I think this is the best place for Ms. Brana to be right now," Williams said waving a hand around the spacious apartment he now shares with Brana and his puppy-dog secretary..

"If you need a place to live, if you're trying to save money and get on your feet there's just nothing available. I thought I had found an apartment for Ms. Brana and then the landlord called to say somebody else was willing to pay more. Luckily my wife isn't here taking up space so it looks like she'll be staying here awhile longer," Williams said smiling at his client.

Can Clueless Get A Clue?
Like most cases he's worked on but never solved, the Dizzy Izzy Case is a simple one. But for some reason, Genoa City's super-sleuth Paul Williams has difficulty making pieces of the puzzle fit.

When his live-in client, Isabella Brana, received a so-called 'threatening' letter from a man Brana claims is her imprisoned former husband, Williams suddenly changed his mind about visiting the man. According to Williams, going to the prison would be too dangerous.

Slipping on a pair of plastic gloves, Williams read the letter which had already been handled by at least four other persons. Seemingly unable to make heads or tails of the letter's content, Brana had to tell Williams to read between the lines and translated the text. At that point, Williams declared he must prove that the letter did in fact come from Brana's former husband.

If, as Williams claims, going to the prison is dangerous, how can he prove anything? And, if he's so scared, why doesn't Williams have one of his many outside operatives contact the Warden? There are strict prison rules about inmates issuing threats. The warden could simply cut off or sensor the inmates mail.

At the rate he's going, Williams is well on his way to chalking up another unsolved case.

Detective To Wrap Case
Genoa City super-sleuth Paul 'Clueless' Williams reports what may be his biggest case this year should wrap up soon. For several weeks, Williams has haphazardly looked into events surrounding Isabella 'Dizzy' Brana who blew into town one day claiming her life was in danger.

A single event of Brana's having been manhandled by an unidentified man was never confirmed and prompted Williams to obtain a fulltime body guard for the woman and to move her into his apartment for safe keeping.

After lightly looking into Brana's past, Williams discovered her husband is in prison where he haunts Brana to this day. When Brana received a threatening letter, Williams made a trip to the prison and determined Brana's husband wrote the letter. Williams says he knows this to be true because "his fingerprints were all over it."

Williams didn't actually speak with the man during his prison visit but revealed if he can find certain information Brana holds in a storage locker it will be enough to wrap up the case. Williams did not elaborate but indicated whatever that something in storage is, it will be just what he needs to keep Brana's husband in jail for a long time on money laundering charges.

The private investigator did not say how he hopes to enlist the support of criminal prosecutors to bring about the charge and how it would be possible to get around the obvious double-jeopardy.

Meantime, Brana is reportedly worried that if the case is closed her relationship with Williams will end. However, Williams says just the opposite is true. Although he is a married man, it is his hope that when the case ends he will no longer be bound by professional ethics and will be free to explore the intimate feelings he has developed for his client.

Secretary Fears For Job
Worried she may be on the verge of losing her job, Lynne 'Yes-Boss' Bassett indicated Wednesday she's getting sick and tired of watching her boss suck around and slobber all over Isabella Brana, a female client.

"It’s getting worse everyday. My days may be numbered," Bassett lamented during a 4th of July celebration at her employer's apartment.

Employed at the Clueless Detective & Alarm Company for over a decade, Bassett was recently promoted to office manager and at one time was desperately in love with detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams.

While it is unlikely Williams would dismiss her, Bassett may be ready to throw in the towel due to Williams adulterous behavior. "I want to hang around to keep an eye on Isabella," Bassett said of Brana adding she owes it to Williams wife, Christine.

When asked if she could stand it much longer, Bassett said, "I’ll grit my teeth and bear it."

Is she having his baby?
"I haven’t been happier in my whole life," dizzy Isabella Brana said Tuesday upon waking up to a brand new day. Pinching herself to be sure she was really alive and perhaps checking her clothing for semen stains, Brana told detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams he had spent more than sperm the previous evening and rustled up a hearty breakfast to replace the lost calories.

For Brana, nothing had ever given her more satisfaction than to have sex with another woman's husband right in the woman's own home. The thought alone gave her chicken skin.

With everything going so right, Brana's next move must be swift. Armed with the knowledge that the detective's mother wants nothing more on earth than a grandchild, getting pregnant should be a piece of cake. Neither she nor Williams use birth control. With a baby on the way, marriage would be right around the corner. The perfect family.

September 2001

Did cellphone cause car wreck?
Upset when the man she's determined to make forget he was ever married turned down her sexual advances, former brothel employee dizzy Izzy Brana raced to the home of Mrs. Mary Williams Tuesday, announced she's leaving town, quickly packed a toothbrush and attempted to flee the city.

Genoa City Police were on the scene of a major traffic accident moments later. Investigators reported a woman fitting Brana's description was rushed to a local hospital and that a cellular phone was found nearby.

"It looks like the victim was trying to answer the phone, somehow got her hand entangled in the steering wheel and crashed," a patrol officer at the scene reported.

The event left many unanswered questions including where or when Brana obtained a vehicle and how she was paying for cellular service when she has no apparent income.

Officials at Genoa City's Center 4 Disease report Brana in critical condition but expected to survive thanks in part because Dr. Olivia Winters was not on emergency room duty.

She's pregnant!
Former brothel employee, dizzy Izzy Brana, was shocked to discover Friday that she will soon pay the price for screwing around with a married man.

Moments before learning of her pregnancy, Brana had agreed to leave Genoa City and put whatever feelings she may have had for detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams behind her. But now, life as Brana has known it, will never be the same.

At about the same time, Slutmore Department Store owner, Lauren Slutmore, made a calculated decision to once again go after her former husband regardless of the fact Paul Williams remains a married man and has other love interests. When she learns Brana is pregnant with Williams' baby it should be reason enough to turn off any desire Slutmore may have to lure the detective into her bed. Still, Slutmore may harbor a covert agenda to use Brana's pregnancy to her own advantage or as a means to make Williams pay for cheating on his wife.

Williams became sexually attracted to Brana after his marriage to Christine Blair Romalotti Williams hit the skids. Although he knew very little about her, Williams gave in to Brana's seductive ways and found himself anxious to show her his sticky wicket. He knew better than to have unprotected sex but apparently felt a few of those white drops of liquid couldn't hurt.

He will find you!
Fenmore department store owner, Lauren Fenmore, on Wednesday delivered an ultimatum to former brothel employee, dizzy Izzy Brana. Tell the man she seduced she's having his baby or face the Fenmore wrath.

In what seemed to be a veiled objective to seek justice, Fenmore's position was clearly vengeful retaliation. Brana was ordered to tell detective Paul 'Clueless' Williams the truth. Failure to do so would result in Fenmore taking it upon herself to deliver the devastating news personally.

In order to help Brana sort out the limited options facing her, Fenmore proposed stashing Brana inside the Fenmore suite at the Genoa City Hotel. For her feeble part, Brana accused Fenmore of playing God but agreed to stay at the hotel suite.

"I love the father of my child but he is still in love with another woman," Brana sniveled. "Most children that come into this world have parents who love each other. At least at that moment. I won’t do that to my child. This is my call," she added.

Noticing the inflamed passion, Fenmore whipped out her big gun and pointed it directly in Brana's face. "Have you forgotten Paul is a PI? You can run but he will find you and I will tell him you are pregnant," she spewed.

Fenmore may have forgotten that in all the years as a private detective, Clueless has solved only one case without the assistance of somebody else. In 1993, Clueless captured a peeping tom. A college student called Legal Aid to report the crime and law bug Christine Blair Romalotti put Clueless on the case. The Genoa City Police had tried to solve the case unsuccessfully. Clueless got his man within 24-hours and when told what a good job he had done stated, "That's what I do for a living."

November 2001

Extortion!
Insiders are buzzing about another blackmail attempt involving the use of an unborn baby as leverage in a sick plan to extort money.

Prevented from leaving Genoa City because her vehicle remains at an auto repair shop weeks after being involved in a minor fender bender, dizzy Izzy Brana will reportedly come to grips soon with the reality that being a single mother is difficult. Getting off her ass and going to work isn't an option because she's pregnant and her only experience is in the depressed brothel industry.

Brana recently had an extramarital affair with Genoa City's most clueless detective, Paul Williams. The two dissolved the relationship in part because of Williams' guilt and deep rooted feelings for his former spouse. Confused, Brana turned to attorney Michael Baldwin who sources tell the GCNews want her to get a job out of town.

The thought of lifting a finger to do anything that might appear to be work is something Brana finds offensive. She's so lazy it's a wonder Brana hasn't hired a personal slave to wipe her butt. To avoid taking responsibility for her own actions, Brana is said to be hatching a plan whereby Michael Baldwin will be told he's the father of her baby and demands will be placed on him to pay child support.

Extortion is an old and overused ploy in Genoa City used by smarter women than Brana. Lame blackmail may have worked in the past but with the advent of DNA testing, Baldwin should easily be able to turn the tables on this poor excuse for a woman.

Kill the baby!
Any woman that would use her unborn baby as a weapon of mass personal destruction, a kind of bioterrorism, doesn't deserve to give birth.

As the Genoa City News has reported, former brothel employee, dizzy Izzy Brana, plans to extort money from local attorney Michael Baldwin. Rubbing her rapidly growing belly has brought Brana to the realization that having a child is not something to be taken lightly. The responsibility of raising a child is more than Brana can handle and something she should have thought about before spreading her legs.

For her terrorist way of thinking, a good fall down a flight of stairs is the best thing that could befall Brana. Threatening a man who may or may not be the father of her baby is not an excuse for whatever pre-partum psychosis Brana may be experiencing. She's lost any self-confidence and self-esteem she may have once had and for resorting to the use of a baby as a weapon Brana does not deserve to be a mother. Her baby must die before innocent lives are destroyed.

A change of heart?
by Suzy Tonaka

In a city where everybody is constantly bumping into one another, it's hard to believe that Paul Williams doesn't know Izzy Brana is still in town. Williams is after all, a detective. If Williams hasn't seen Brana while he's been out detecting, wouldn't one of his many field operatives have seen her?

Taking into account Brana keeps saying she doesn't have any money, how can she afford to eat all of her meals out? Is that part of Lauren Fenmore's hotel deal? Yes Izzy, you can stay at my hotel suite for as long as you like and when you eat out charge the meals to the room. Brana apparently didn't take Fenmore up on any such offer as she was seen paying her own bill Tuesday at a local restaurant.

Whatever is wrong with Brana's car must be major. Weeks after Brana's fender bender the Acme Garage still hasn't repaired the damage. The delay has forced Brana to stick around and be seen by meddling mothers like Mary Williams.

Surprised to see the woman she encouraged her son to commit adultery with, Mrs. Williams, also eating out a lot these days burning up that Social Security money, poked Brana for information. Why hasn't she called? Why hasn't her son told her anything about Izzy? Lordy, slow down so I can get a look at you. Mmmm, you are lookin' fine.

Does all this attention mean your son still has feelings for me, Brana wondered aloud. As if revealing a top CIA secret, Williams cocked her mouth and let it rip. "I need to tell you this. He has strong feeling for both you and Christine but with her being out of town - gasp - are you saying you want a second chance with Paul?"

Brana was not just struck by the directness of the poor woman's statement, but by the warm and fuzzy feeling just the thought of being with Paul Williams gave her.

By her demeanor it appeared Brana had suddenly remembered a terrible mistake. "I’m smart enough to not want to make the same mistake twice. I’m going to take care of one of those right now," she told Mrs. Williams before rushing off to what was believed to be a meeting with a man Brana only hours ago had threatened with blackmail.

Hey babe! Want a job?
Concerned there are too many white people representing their products, Jabot Cosmetics stockholder Jill Abbott and webmaster Sean Bridges put their collective heads together Thursday and came up with a remarkable solution.

Gulping down a stale breakfast inside the local coffee shop by day, club for all ages at night, Bridges muttered, "We really need more diversity. We want everyone to use our products."

As his eyes searched the sleazy Java joint clientele, dizzy Izzy Brana's face suddenly stuck out like a sore thumb. "That’s what I mean. She’d be perfect," an excited Bridges announced and without further ado began to butter Brana up.

"We do ads for Jabot Cosmetics. Are you sure you’re not a professional model," Bridges lied. "I’m not a model [and] what’s more I have no idea what a model does," Brana confessed.

Long-time residents in Genoa City know that in order to get a plush job in this city, one needs no experience or education. Simply being in the right place at the right time is all it takes and sexual favors never hurt either.

His heart pounding, Bridges laid it on thick with promises of having the best photographer in Genoa City taking some head shots of the hot looking babe. As an afterthought, Bridges asked Brana if she would be interested in becoming Jabot's newest model.

"Why not? This could be fun!" Brana squealed as a star was born.

Former brothel employee dizzy Izzy Brana has confirmed she does have a bun in the oven. Religious warlord Mary Williams suspected the pregnancy while attending church services with her son. Brana told Genoa City's most inept private detective the child was sired by Michael Baldwin after a one-night flat backer with a man she doesn't love.

Rental unit scooped!
Local apartment owners report they have been hard-pressed during these poor economic times to find tenants. One book author Nina Webster left Genoa City almost a year ago, yet the apartment Webster shared with her son, flaky husband and boyfriend has remained vacant.

That is, until this week when Webster's apartment, previously sublet from Christine 'Bug' Williams, was reportedly sublet to aspiring Jabot Cosmetics model, dizzy Izzy Brana.
