FRIDAY,
November 13, 2009 -- Well, well. Change we can believe in. Same as it
ever was. Comply or else.
Obama says penalties for those of us who can't afford healthcare are
appropriate for people who try to "free ride" the health care system. As for
going to jail for said free riding, Obama said, "What I think is appropriate
is that in the same way that everybody has to get auto insurance and if you
don't, you're subject to some penalty, that in this situation, if you have
the ability to buy insurance, it's affordable and you choose not to do so,
forcing you and me and everybody else to subsidize you, you know, there's a
thousand dollar hidden tax that families all across America are - are
burdened by because of the fact that people don't have health insurance, you
know, there's nothing wrong with a penalty."
Let's see. Don't want, or can't afford the expense, slap the people with a
"penalty" further driving them into debt. Better would be to send them to
jail so that taxpayers can foot that bill.
Oh wait - Obama said penalties have to be high enough for people to not game
the system, but it's also important to not be "so punitive" that people who
are having a hard time find themselves suddenly worse off, thus why hardship
exemptions have been built in the legislation."
Oh yeah, try getting exempt. How many years would that take if it were even
possible? When has a penalty imposed by the government (Think IRS 10% per
month on outstanding tax balance due) not caused a hardship? Let's say
though honest oversight, three years ago you underpaid your federal income
tax. Along comes the IRS to say you must pay penalty and interest on the
amount outstanding. Why? If an honest mistake was made, why not just let the
taxpayer pay the original amount due? Why must there always be the
government driving people down?

Over on the soap side I wrote about cancer patient Lily Winters Ashby
carrying around with her to the hospital a makeup bag. It was then natural
to assume she's using cosmetics which is not the smartest thing a cancer
patient can do. Not that Lily is very bring, she's undoubtedly using toxic
chemicals from Jabot Cosmetics given her faux father works for Jabot's
parent company. There is, in most all cosmetics, something called parabens.
Parabens are the preservatives the entire cosmetic industry uses. They are
cheap and effective. There is evidence that parabens - easily absorbed into
the skin - are carcinogenic and estrogenic with continued use. Diagnosed
with ovarian cancer, Ashby had a hysterectomy. Parabens have stimulated
premature uterine growth in mice. Besides upsetting hormonal balance, the
excess estrogenic effect is also linked to cancer. Laboratory testing has
created cancer cells with parabens. That's why they're called carcinogenic.
Currently under fire for using parabens, let me tell you about AVON.
Thinking one of AVON's products would make the bags appearing under my eyes
less noticeable (the bags came about I think due to a massive loss of sleep
while grieving the loss of my wife) what developed just under one eye, where
I'd wipe excessive AVON product thinking it couldn't hurt, a skin blemish
has appeared and seems to be getting larger. Discontinuing wiping excess
AVON in that area of my face has not make the blemish go away.
All I'm saying is that before using the AVON product, there was no blemish.
What then would be the logical conclusion a prudent person might reach?
Here's what else is in makeup/skin "renewal" products:
Enzophenone-1 (hormonal and penetration enhancer) in Nail Experts Nail
Brightener.
Methylparaben (hormonal), ethylparaben (hormonal), and imidazolidinyl urea
(cancer precursor) in Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara.
Ceteareth-20 (cancer precursor), and disodium EDTA (penetration enhancer) in
Advance Techniques Body Building Conditioner.
PEG-80 sorbitan laurate, and PEG-10 rapeseed sterol (cancer precursors) in
Anew Beauty Youth-Awakening Lipstick.
Wikipedia has
more on parabens and their relationship to breast cancer.

Meantime on the be very afraid of our hoax front, this from one of those
so-called "health news" sites.
My 10-Day Ordeal With the Swine Flu:
"Like most people, I've been following the news about the H1N1 swine flu
with some concern. Unlike most people, however, I’ve spent years
interviewing doctors. And from the many hours talking with
infectious-disease specialists, I knew that it was never a matter of if
there might be another flu pandemic, but when."
Okay, class? What
did we learn? That the hoax is still a hoax? For those who failed
yesterday's quiz, I.E.; you didn't watch this video, here's the link again.
All you need is to watch part 1. See

Oh my, could be weed is good for you?
The AMA this week urged the federal government to reconsider its
classification of marijuana as a dangerous drug with no accepted medical
use.
The headline sounds good, but go deep and see where it's hinted the AMA
wants to study ways medicinal weed might be "distributed". In other words,
how to reap profits.
Thirteen states allow the use of medical marijuana. The AMA, however,
cautions that it's outlook on weed, "[S]hould not be viewed as an
endorsement of state-based medical cannabis programs, the legalization of
marijuana, or that scientific evidence on the therapeutic use of cannabis
meets the current standards for a prescription drug product."
...
Here's a another good use for the evil weed. Let the boys smoke it. It might
chill them out as new research suggests that for teenage boys, participation
in team sports may encourage unruly behavior such as fighting and binge
drinking and going postal.
Meantime, more on the pandemic, the hype to get drones to get injected with
who knows what. A study of H1N1 swine flu in Mexico finds that while babies
and people under the age of 40 are most likely to get sick, elderly people
have the highest death rates. Damn old people, of what good are they? Can't
have sex; can't see very well, drive too slow and pee on themselves.
...
Good-bye, and good riddance. Lou Dobbs quit CNN this week. Any bets he'll
resurface on FAUX?

A brief personal update for your romance fixing enjoyment.
I am such a good guy, ain't I? How does my head fit through doors? Here's
what Linda told me yesterday:
"Already, I feel like you are a part of me, that lives with me, and I can't
imagine my life without you now! You fill me with such unimaginable joy and
gratitude, hope and love. It makes me never want to be apart from you, not
ever and not one day longer than absolutely necessary. It's now like I can't
live or breathe without you and I don't want to! You are in my blood and
soul. My first thoughts when I wake up are of you, my last thoughts when I
go to sleep are of you, and all day long. Now I wonder if I could ever truly
be happy away from you for very long."
Funny thing, I have those exact same feelings for her. Can wedding bells be
far away? |
