SWEET DREAMS - HARSH REALITIES:
It's another 'confusing' new day in Genoa City, WI. Using 'soap' time -
maybe it makes sense. At the condo - Mikey is having a dream about Lauren -
he comes out dressed for work - I'm late - gotta go ~kiss~ what's that
smell? L - waffles, come eat them while they're hot - quick. M - oh… what
kind of cad scarfs down his wife's homemade breakfast ~kiss~ then bolts?
I'll call Chantal and tell her I'll be a little late. L - you can help me
with the dishes ~kiss~ M - that wasn't exactly what I was thinking
~kiss/kiss~ we should do this more often. L - yeah - we have all the time in
the world ~kiss~ Back in real time - Mikey mumbles - all the time in the
world. Ding…dong! Ding…dong! Mikey - I'm coming! Paul - good morning - I
brought you some coffee - did you get some sleep? Mikey - a little. Paul -
you OK? Mikey - I was doing great until I woke up. Paul - dreaming? Mikey -
it was almost too real for a dream - it was like a message of hope - it was
Lauren. Paul has water and a pill for Mikey - here you go. Ding…dong Mikey -
please tell them to go away. Paul - I asked Scott to meet me here. Scott -
what's going on? Paul - I wanted you both to hear this - they found Tom's
rental van. Mikey - dust for prints? Paul - so far they've identified two
sets. Mikey - Tom's and Sheila's? Paul - right. Scott - that proves Sheila
was with Tom in Florida. Paul - I'm sure she masterminded the whole thing.
Scott - so she killed my mom - I blamed you and Kevin for bringing Tom into
her life - but you weren't to blame at all - I'm sorry. Scott wants to be
the bait that will get Sheila out of hiding - if a crowd of people is needed
so she can blend in - he suggests the perfect time would be his mom's
memorial service - she won't want to miss that. Mikey - no, there isn't
going to be a memorial service - no way.
** JT gets home - finds bottle of champagne unopened - I'll make it up to
you, Mac - he puts it in fridge and takes out carton of OJ - as he takes a
swig - he is stunned to see Mac and Kevin still asleep - wake up Sleepy
Heads. Mac - move, Kevin - we just fell asleep. JT - I can see that. Mac - I
tried to stay awake - I thought you'd come back so we could have some time
together. JT - it looks like this is warning for both of us - this is an
important case - Lauren's killer is still out there. Mac - so? JT - I had to
go - what else could I do? Mac - wait until morning. JT - that's not the way
it works - I want us to be cool about this - I won't even bring up the fact
my boss ripped me out because you unplugged the phone. Mac - I was expecting
to spend some private time with my boyfriend - you said we could - that
wasn't true. JT - I'm going to take a shower. Mac confides to Kevin that she
may have made a mistake by moving in with JT - this is not what I expected.
Kevin - don't stay if you're not comfortable. Just then - someone knocks.
Mac - I'll get it. Delivery guy has a food order - COD. Neither Mac nor
Kevin know anything about it. JT - I'll take care of it - I ordered brunch
from Gina to make up for last night. Mac - I can't stay mad at you long when
you do such sweet things. She asks Kevin to join them - but he takes a pass
- I need to get cleaned up. Over the great meal - Mac and JT talk about how
to make their relationship work out - they love each other and want it to
happen - the first thing that JT wants to do is make a change in their
living arrangement.
** At the farm - Lauren is still asleep when she whispers - Michael -
Michael. Annoyed Sheila - he's not here! Lauren awakens - I was dreaming I
was at home with Michael. Sheila - spare me the details - you know - our
world is ending - they're not going to get us out of this hole. Lauren -
they will. Sheila - you're so pathetic - if Tom had told anyone before he
died - they'd be here by now - which means no one has clue where we are -
we're going to die in here - together (laughs) Lauren - I'm not giving up
hope - there has to be a way out of here . . as she pounds - she finds a
loose block. Sheila - untie me and I'll help you. Lauren thinks about it -
I'll untie you but not your hands - if you try anything - you'll be sorry -
hurry up and start scraping. It takes a long time but it finally comes loose
- if you help me - I think we can move it. They both push hard - it pops out
- but a hissing sound comes with it - they thinks it gas - Lauren spots a
vent - she pushes a table under it to stand on - come on - you need to get
up here or you'll die - I can't, Lauren - you need to help me!
TROUBLED WATERS:
At Memorial - Jack brings Gloria some coffee - thank you - any word? Jack -
I just spoke to Dr Walker - Dad is still unconscious but his condition is
stable - whatever that means - hey - he's a tough guy - he'll pull through
this. Glo - I know that - but I want to be the one in there with him - why
does Ashley have to be in there alone? In John's room his nurse is checking
him. Ash - how long before he wakes up? Nurse - 5 minutes or 5 hours. Ash -
if it's a long time what does that mean? Nurse - it's not necessarily a bad
sign - try not to worry. Ash runs alley scene through her mind again - Tom
tells John - you don't want to kill me - then grabs for the gun which goes
off - John drops the gun and drives off in his car. Ash goes over by her
father's bed and sits down - Daddy, you have to wake up - I need to talk to
you before anyone else does - if you say the wrong thing - it could cost you
your life - Daddy wake up. Ash works a plan out in her head as she looks at
her father in bed - it's better if I take the blame - if you went to prison
it would kill you - I'll just say it was self defense if it comes to that -
Gloria and Jack don't understand - but I won't let anything happen to you -
I promise you that.
Jack and Gloria come in - why don't you take
a break, Sis. Glo - if you don't mind - I'd like to sit with my husband.
Nurse comes in. Ash - I'm going to step outside for a few minutes - tell me
the second he wakes up. Nurse - certainly. Jack looks puzzled as Ashley
leaves. Brad - nurse told me John had a car accident - how is he? Ash - he's
stable. Brad - can I see him? Ash - he's still unconscious - we can talk
about that later - I need to tell you something now. Brad - what is it? Ash
- I've been arrested for shooting Tom Fisher. Brad - this Fisher attack you?
Ash -no, but I thought he was going to - he called the house - I told Gloria
to call the police - then I went to find him myself. Brad - why would you do
that? Ash - I don't know - it was a stupid thing to do - we need to tell
Abby - she's going to be frightened - she needs to hear this from both of
us. Brad - was the charge assault? Ash - no murder. Brad - is Tom dead? Ash
- yes, Brad starts to pepper her with questions - I can't talk about this at
all - about Abby - we need to have a united front - promise me? Nurse - Ms
Abbott - your father is waking up. Ash - I have to go - please bring Abby
over to our house - I'll get there as soon as I can - promise me? Brad -
promise. As Ashley listens to the conversation with her father - she
realizes that he doesn't remember anything that happened. What now?
ALL THAT GLITTERS:
At Carlton's - Brad sends Abby off with Frances - just as Vikki comes
downstairs - is the coast clear? Brad - you're safe - thanks for making
yourself scarce until Abby left ~kiss~ Vikki - I didn't want to end our
perfect night on a bad note. Brad - remember her resolution? Vikki - yes,
but knowing I spent the night might not help the cause. Brad - you do recall
that I proposed last night? Vikki - I do - but as you'll recall I didn't
give you an answer. Brad - now that you've had a chance to sleep on it -
what is the status of our relationship? Vikki - do you think it's
unreasonable to take some time to think about it? Brad - we love each other
- why the hesitation? Vikki - I thought we were taking it slow - and there's
Abby to consider. Brad - if you want this as much as I do - I know we can
make it work. Vikki - as you were getting Abby ready for school (New Year's
Day?) I was looking deep in my heart. Brad - did your heart have an answer?
Vikki - a word of warning, Carlton - if down the line you decide you've
rushed into things - I'll have your head on a plate - yes, I'll marry you,
Brad. Brad smiles then gives Vikki a ~kiss~ and ~hug~ Brad then pulls out a
ring. Vikki - you were pretty sure of yourself. Brad - to tell the truth - I
gave it a 50/50 chance . . as he slips the rock on her finger. Vikki - oh
Bradley - it's beautiful ~kiss/kiss~ Vikki - we could go back upstairs. Brad
- not when the boss lady scheduled a staff meeting for this morning.
(another oops) Vikki - I have go home to change. Brad - let me help you with
your coat. Vikki looks at her ring - it's beautiful. Brad - it had to be
beautiful for a beautiful lady ~kiss~ Vikki - I'll see you later. Brad -
drive carefully. Vikki - I will. Just as Brad closes the door - the phone
starts ringing - it's Ashley - I'm glad I got you right away - I'm in ICU at
Memorial - it's not Abby - but I need you to get here right away.
** At the ranch over morning coffee with Sharon - Nikki mentions the dinner
with Phyllis and Daniel - was that OK with you? Sharon - Daniel is helping
Nick coach Noah's basketball team and Noah likes being with him - so as
surprising as it might seem - I am. Nikki - did Phyllis say anything about
leaving town? Sharon - no, why? Nikki - Daniel called to say she was gone -
he didn't know where or how long - I was supposed to have a meeting with her
this morning (New Year's Day?) Sharon - she didn't say anything. Nikki - odd
- I guess I'll hear from her some time - did you and Nick have a good time?
Sharon - if you're asking how things are going between us - they're going
much better. Nikki - I'm glad to hear that - did Victoria stop by? Sharon -
I haven't heard from her for days. Nikki - she probably went out with Brad.
Sharon - you don't sound too happy about that. Nikki - she claims they are
taking things slowly - I need to get some sugar - I'll be right back.
Sharon thinks - don't worry, Nikki - Brad
will see to it that as she remembers what Brad said to her. Nikki - I'm
trying to be positive about Victoria and Brad - even if I'm not wild about
the idea - that doesn't mean I need to create conflict. Sharon - that's not
a bad strategy with her - push her too hard in one direction - she'll go in
the other. Nikki - you've seen her do that to Nick - it's not that Brad
isn't a good person - I just don't her want to rush into anything - you and
Brad having been working together - did he say anything about her? Sharon -
I can't have this conversation with you. Nikki - why not? we're family - if
there is something Victoria needs to know - you should tell her. Sharon -
you know Brad would never mislead a woman - besides they're in the getting
to know you phase - let it go at that. Nikki - OK.
Just then - Vikki comes in - Mom, did Miguel
pick up the dry cleaning? I'm looking for a business suit I need to wear
today. Nikki - Honey, I don't know - I don't think so. Vikki - good morning,
Sharon. Sharon - you seem happy. Vikki - I am. Nikki spots the ring - what
is this? Vikki - you had to go and spoil my surprise - Brad popped the
question. She shows them her ring - isn't it elegant? Brad has such good
taste. Sharon - it's lovely. Vikki - you two are not tripping all over
yourselves to congratulate me. Nikki - it's so sudden - I didn't realize
things had progressed to this point. Vikki - I was surprised too - I had no
idea he'd proposed on New Year's Eve - I didn't answer him right away.
Sharon - did you say New Year's Eve? Vikki - yes, it was so romantic - we
had these party crackers we opened right at midnight - his proposal was in
mine - I didn't get caught up in the moment - I told him I had to think
about until this morning. Sharon - excuse me - I have to go. Vikki - what's
with Sharon - that was rude. Nikki - forget about that - how you do think
your father and brother will react when they hear the news. Ding…dong Brad
is at the door - I'm looking for you ~kiss~ Vikki - the cat's out of the bag
- my mother spotted the ring. Nikki - I'm having a hard time with this.
Vikki - we are just two people in love who want to spend our lives together
- it's as simple as that - right, Brad. Brad - actually it's gotten a lot
more complicated than that.
DARK ALLIANCE:
As another long day continues in Genoa City, WI - down in the hole on a farm
near town - Lauren has found a vent to outside air - as she gets off table
to help Sheila get some fresh air - she wonders how she'll stop the gas
leak. Sheila - leave me alone! Lauren - come on, I'm trying to help you (she
somehow gets Sheila up on table) take a deep breath. Lauren grabs a blanket
- stops the gas leak - she climbs up next to Sheila who wonders if the vent
will clear the air in the room. Lauren - we'll just have to wait and see.
Sheila - why did you save me? Lauren - I just couldn't watch another human
die - would you have let me die? - that was a stupid question - you don't
have any decency - not one ounce. Lauren looks at air duct - there must be
away to get that off. Sheila - but it's bolted to the wall - there must be
something in that box where you found the food that can help. Lauren looks -
come up with a shovel - she gets it loose but needs Sheila's help to get it
off. Sheila holds up her hands - I can't help if you don't untie me. Will
Lauren risk it?
BIG CHILL:
At Mikey's condo - Scott is stunned when his step dad says there will be no
memorial service for his mom. Paul puts in his 2¢ - this may be our only
chance to nab Sheila. Scott - you know she'd come - wild horses couldn't
keep her away. Mikey - you already said it would be dangerous - let police
do their job. Paul - it will be weeks before police in Florida even start
thinking of Sheila as a serious suspect. Mikey - they knows she's not locked
up - why wouldn't they go after her? Scott - I can't believe I'm hearing
this - if anyone smokes out Sheila - it will have to be us. Paul starts
telling them how it would be done - I'm sorry if this seems insensitive.
Mikey - I've lost the love of my life and all you can talk about is how many
spy toys you can bring to her funeral. Paul - that's not what I'm doing -
I'm going to find Sheila and make her pay - I know you want that too - but
damnit we have to catch her first. Scott - even if we don't go after Sheila
- I want to say goodbye to my mom - I want to be there with her friends who
loved her. Paul - it's what people expect. Scott - I've already gotten a
bunch of calls. Mikey - I know you're right - it just seems so final - where
and when? Paul - we'll plan it - right now I want to head over to JT's to
check his list of property owners - if Sheila is hiding out… Mikey - can we
talk about this later? I just need to be alone for a bit. Scott - Paul, if
you need me I'll be at CL. Paul - no, you're coming with me - I want you to
stay close for awhile - will you be OK? Mikey - sure. Paul - let's go.
** At the loft: Mac - what's wrong with our living arrangement? JT - I'd
like to have the place to ourselves. Mac - you want to kick Kevin and Scott
out? JT - that sounds insensitive (Kevin is listening) I don't have anything
against either of them - but when things cool down - I'd like it to be just
you and me - only reason they're here now is because of the situation with
Brittany. Mac - and now you don't want other roommates. JT - I thought we
agreed to live together as a couple - I know you and Kevin are business
partners and friends - that's fine with me - but we need our own privacy - I
thought you'd understand. Mac - aren't you being a little selfish? You don't
want to share me with anyone. JT - you're messing with me - right? Mac -
just a little bit. JT - I could kill you - but living together means being
alone - we don't need the rent - so you tell Kevin - OK? Mac - why don't
you? Kevin - if anyone calls - tell them to try my cell. Mac - where are you
off to? Kevin - I have things to do - people to see. JT - please talk to him
- I know why you like having him around - he worships the ground you walk
on. Mac - that isn't true. JT - it's OK - everyone likes to be worshiped.
Mac - we know you do. JT - only by you. Mac - it's not like Kevin is in the
way.
As JT tries to make his point about needing
privacy when one thing leads to another - Paul and Scott come in - Sheila is
still on the loose - we don't have a moment to lose - Scott came up with an
idea that might work. Mac - I'm going to get out of your hair ~kiss~ JT -
I'll talk to you later. Paul - if we're going to find where Sheila is hiding
out - we'll have to use the people on your list - Scott, you'll have to get
on the phone to set up memorial service (JT tosses him a phone) you and I
can split this list up - let's get on it.
While Scott makes arrangements - Paul and JT
get down to 7 people they haven't talk to - let's hope Sheila raises a red
flag so someone will remember seeing her - if she's still in town - we'll
find her right here - I'm sure of it. JT - if not - we'll have plan 'B' the
memorial service. Paul - we'll find that woman before she has a chance to
harm anyone else - I promise you that.
Mac makes a beeline for her grandma's - needs little advice - JT wants Kevin
and Scott to move out. Kay - but that's not what you want? Mac feels she can
tell Kevin anything - while she still has to be careful when it comes to JT
- Kevin has a little thing for her - but it's under control - he's not
pining for me. Kay - if you're sure about that - there is only one thing
left - who's the boss? Mac doesn't understand. Kay - no matter what - one
person in a relationship makes the decision to do something - not the same
person does each time - who does it now - you or JT? Mac - I'm not sure.
** Mikey lets Kevin in - if you want company - this isn't the place to be -
Paul and Scott are planning a memorial service for Lauren. Kevin - she won't
be home again - you need to say goodbye. Mikey - I'm just not ready for this
- deep in my heart and soul - I can't accept that Lauren is dead - don't
look at me that way - I'm not poor Mikey - if Lauren were really gone - I'd
know. Kevin understands - you know better than anyone - mentions his problem
- wonders if Mikey would mind to have him and maybe Scott move back in -
Mikey is willing to give it a go - if nothing else - we can support each
other - and move on with our lives.
SKATING ON THIN ICE:
At Memorial - John is awake at last. Jack - Dad, try to stay with us - can
you tell us about the accident? Glo - Honey, what do you remember? John - I
was at home - phone rang - I was in the kitchen - someone answered it - you?
Glo looks at Ashley before she answers - that's right - I was in the living
room when it rang - I picked it up. John - that's all. Jack - you don't
remember anything else? John thinks for a moment - no, Jack - nothing - will
someone tell me what the hell I'm doing in this hospital? Jack - you just
cracked your car up a little bit - no big deal. John - I had an accident -
was anyone hurt? Glo - no, Honey and the doctors say you're going to be just
fine.
Nurse comes in to kick them all out - Mr.
Abbott needs to rest. John objects - I want to be with my family. Nurse -
sorry, doctor's orders. Glo - Honey, relax - we'll be right outside - love
you. Ashley - love you too, Daddy - I'll be back to talk to you later.
Ashley - I'm going home - Brad is getting Abby out of school early - we'll
tell her what's happening together - I don't want Dad to know about the
shooting - that Tom is dead or how I'm connected to it - is that clear? Jack
- this is already settled - Dr Walker doesn't want Dad upset as long as
arrhythmia is an issue. Glo - but he may find out - that's always a poss…
Ash - no, I don't want him to hear about this except from me. Glo - why are
you being so adamant… Jack - this is your call - I'll see that no reporters
get to him or anyone else. Ash - great - if Dad starts talking nonsense -
keep him away from other people. Jack - nurse! Glo - Ashley… Ash - is there
something else you don't agree with? Glo - no - can I help with Abby? Ash -
I have to take care of her right now. Glo - just go.
** Out at Newman ranch - Vikki wants to know what Brad is talking about.
Brad - there is no easy way to say this - last night Ashley was arrested for
the murder of Tom Fisher. Shocked Nikki - what? Brad - I just talked to her
- I came straight here - this obviously changes things. Nikki - OMG! Vikki -
what things? Brad - when I proposed I was a part-time dad - if this goes to
trial and Ash goes to prison - god forbid. Nikki - Abby would be living with
you full-time. Brad - that's not the deal you said yes to - if you want to
back out - I'll understand. Vikki - it's sweet of you to be concerned - but
I'm not backing out - looks like you're stuck with me. Brad - I'm so glad.
Vikki - I think we should pick Abby up at school so you can talk to her
before she hears this news in a way you wouldn't want her to. Brad - I love
the way you think - in fact - I love everything about you - but I'm one step
ahead - I've already called the school - they are having quiet reading time
in the library - I doubt if anyone has told her - they should be done soon.
Vikki - OK, let's go.
Victor comes in out of the cold - pours
himself some coffee. Nikki - hi. Victor - hi, what's wrong? Nikki - I have
some shocking news - Tom Fisher has been shot to death - they are saying
Ashley did it. Victor - is she out on bail or what? Nikki - please don't
make this your problem - Brad and Victoria are on their way to Abby's school
- they are taking care of it - we have problems of our own. Victor - what
are you talking about? Nikki - Victoria and Brad just got engaged. Victor -
who what that on the phone? Nikki - Lauren's son - they'll be having a
service - he'll call back with details. Victor - I can't believe that Lauren
is dead. Nikki - it's tragic. Victor - I have to do something. Nikki -
please say you're not going to hold Ashley's hand - this may sound
uncharitable - but once again she done something foolish - that always gets
your attention. Victor - what would your have me do - nothing? I can't do
that. Nikki - if it's a matter of priorities - why don't we put our heads
together to keep Victoria from getting more involved with Brad - his life is
going to be in chaos soon. Victor - I don't understand why he is pursuing
our daughter at this time - but she's a grown woman - if she wants to marry
Brad - we can't stop her - and the more we object - the more she'll want to
do it - on the other hand, Abby can't take care of herself - she need my
help. Nikki - of course you're right - so go ~kiss~
After Victor is out the door - damn you
Ashley - what have you gotten us into now?
** At the Carlton's - Abby wants to know what's going on - why don't you
tell, Daddy? Brad - we will. Vikki - why don't I make some hot cocoa - would
you like that, Abby? Brad - that's a great idea. Vikki - I'll be back. Brad
- that was nice of Victoria. Abby - I guess - I'm trying to like her, Daddy
- but I'm worried about you bringing me home like this - is something wrong?
What do you want to talk to me about? Vikki brings Abby her cocoa - how is
it? Abby - perfect. Just as they are about to sit down with Abby to tell her
what's going on - Ash comes in - she doesn't think Vikki should be there -
give me a minute - Ash takes Abby into kitchen to warm up her drink - Brad
gives Vikki a little sweet talk - then sends her off with a ~kiss~ and a
promise to call her later. Ash brings Abby back - minus the cocoa - she
really didn't want it now - it's in the fridge for later. Abby - now will
you tell me? Ash starts by telling her that Tom is dead. Abby - I remember
him - he was a nice man. Brad - you may hear that your mommy had something
to do with his death - it isn't true so just ignore what they are saying.
Feeling better - Abby wants to back to school - I don't want to miss helping
to make decorations for our winter show - you both can come to see it -
right? Brad - we'll do our very best. Ash thanks Brad for his help - I could
never have done this alone - you always know the right things to say.
** At Memorial - Jack sees Victor at the desk - what happened to your
father? Jack - he's fine - he's asleep right now. Victor - you didn't answer
my question, Jack.
WORK TOGETHER OR DIE TOGETHER - WHICH?:
That's right - it's the same long day in Genoa City, WI - at the farm -
Lauren is running out of steam on the grill covering the air duct. Sheila
makes it clear to Saint Lauren, the perfect one - unless they work together
- they'll die - that means you'll have to untie me - what's it going to be?
After a brief pause - Lauren starts to untie Sheila - I'll be watching you
like a hawk. After lots of moaning and groaning - the pair take a break.
Sheila - my arms feel like lead - why are you looking at me like that?
Lauren - was all the plotting and planning worth it? Look where we ended up.
Sheila - it's easy for you to judge me - everything for you is black and
white. Lauren - what do expect after all the horrible things you've done to
me? Sheila - people aren't born like this - they're the products of their
environment. Sheila goes on to tell Lauren about contemplating suicide when
she was about 12 - suddenly I realized if I did - they'd win - I decided to
get mad and get even - since that day I've never looked back. Lauren - who
are 'they'? Sheila flares up - what difference does it make now? She puts
her all into getting the grill off - when it pops off and falls to the floor
- Lauren's mouth drops open.
** At Mikey's condo - he pours himself a drink. Bug - have you been doing
that a lot lately? Mikey - what? Bug - drowning your sorrows in booze. Mikey
- are you here to lecture me? Bug - we'll change the subject - I know you're
in a lot of pain - but I have to talk to you about Ashley. Mikey sighs -
what about her? Bug - her neck is on the chopping block - I need help. Mikey
- what do you want from me? Bug peppers him with questions - Mikey isn't
forth coming - I can't defend her if I don't know what's going on. Mikey - I
can help you with that - let me take over the case. Bug starts to object.
Mikey - don't fight me on this - you'll be glad I got you out of this mess.
Bug - I'll be Ashley's lawyer until she fires me and says she wants you -
until then - I'll be here - doing my job. Mikey - I understand that you're
mad at me - but what else is wrong? Bug - you've come so far from the man I
once knew - it scares me to think that may happen again. Mikey - it won't -
thanks to you and Lauren - I'll never be that man again ~hug~
With Bug gone - Mikey gives Ashley a call - I
need to see you at my apartment - I'll tell you all about it when you get
here. He then remembers the morning on the yacht when Lauren wakes him up
from his best dream ever - the most beautiful gal in the world said she'd
marry me. Lauren - you're in luck - it is true - we're married - we have the
rest of our lives to figure it out ~kiss~ Mikey is in tears as he remembers
what Lauren said - the rest of our lives!
MILLION DOLLAR ASHLEY:
At Memorial - Jack sees Victor - let me guess - you're here to help. Victor
- I know that's hard for you to believe. Jack - look - I don't want to fight
- I have more important things on my mind. Victor - how is your father? Jack
- he's stable - doctors are guardedly optimist. Victor - is it true what I
hear about Ashley's arrest? Jack - yeah - it's front page news. Victor -
this is shocking - did she do it - did she kill Tom Fisher? From what I
understand - the world is a better place with Tom Fisher not in it. Jack -
so why couldn't he be hit by a truck or jump off a cliff? Victor - you know
how passionate Ashley is about defending her family - especially Abby. Jack
- no one I've talked to says Abby was in any danger - I don't know what was
going on in Ash's mind - I don't want her to go to prison. Victor - I don't
want that either. Jack - how about that - we actually agree about something.
Victor - will miracles never cease - BTW - I wouldn't count on Carlton for
much help - he asked my daughter to marry him. Jack - I guess we saw that

** At the Carlton's - Brad is upset with Ashley. Ash - where is this coming

back to school - she can't be that freaked out. Brad rips Ash for not

** Ash goes by Memorial to check on her dad - how's he doing? Jack - he's
resting. Ash - does he remember anything yet? Jack - nope - are you all
right? Ash - being arrested for murder has made my week. Jack - you'll never
guess who stopped by - TGVN - he wants to help. Ash - I ran into him too -
he told me that too. Jack - just remember one thing - nothing comes from
that guy for free. Ash gets Mikey's call - I have to go - but if Dad starts

At CL - Daniel spots Devon coming in - I'm glad you're back - how's Lily?
Devon - fine. Daniel - I want details. Devon nods at Neil who just came in.

the office - I wanted to see you first. Devon - what's going on? Neil - did
you talk to your mom? Devon - no - it was so late last night when we got in
- and she was gone this morning when I got up - so I called the boutique.
Neil - and? Devon - her job is over there - but she's got a full-time job
already - somewhere else. Neil - that's fantastic - listen - about Lily -
Dru and I had a long talk with her about Daniel. Devon - she told me. Neil -
then you know she's breaking it off. Devon - she said you wanted her to
write a letter. Neil - it's easier to keep track of than over the phone.
Devon - any idea what it says? Neil nods. Devon - you read it? Neil - I
don't feel good about it - but after all that happened - I had to be sure.

isn't about Brad being madly in love with my sister - what better way to
move on with his agenda than to marry his boss. Sharon - Nick, you need to

** At NE - Dru is happy to have Neil stop by - I need a break ~kiss~ how did

John' letter without getting from the girl's father. Dru - why care about

appreciate your concern - but I didn't ask you over to talk about me - I
want to take over your case and I realize you may have some objections… Ash
- no, I have none and I'm so relieved. Mikey - I thought it would take more
to convince you to do this. Ash - why? There is so much Chris doesn't know
- this makes perfect sense. Mikey - we don't want the DA to ask too many
questions about Tom's drug arrest. Ash - exactly - I'd hate to lie under
oath - this is one part of my life I won't have to worry about. Mikey - one

** At Memorial Gloria blows in - Jack, is John still resting? Jack - that's
what he needs most right now. Glo - I agree - what about Ashley? Jack - she
went to see Michael. Glo - that was sweet of her to support Michael with all
that's going on with her. Jack - I doubt that's why she's there - they are
probably talking about her case. Glo - why? Jack - Michael and Chris are
partners. Glo - that's good - they'll get these charges dropped in no time.
Jack - God, I hope so. Glo - one thing I don't understand - how can we be
sure that was John's gun? Jack - how else could Ash get one so quickly?
Glo - I'm surprised he even had a gun. Jack - he got it to protect you and
Ashley - it's too bad he wasn't there - he might have talked Ash out of it.
Glo - but he was there. As Gloria remembers what happened - it becomes
obvious there is something wrong with Ashley's account of what happened.
Glo - I don't know why he didn't say goodbye - he usually does. Ash comes up
- you know Dad - when he's thinking about business he blocks everything else
out - he may have had a meeting. Glo - in that part of town? Ash - we'll
find out from Dad himself soon - right? Jack - how did your meeting with
Michael go? Ash - he took my case - excuse me - I have to see Dad. She
walks into her dad's room - look at you - you look great. John - I wish I
could say the same about you - you looked stressed and I think I know why -
and I intend to put an end to it. Ash feels better when he thinks she's
worried about him - says she's going to rest before the memorial service for
Lauren. Outside - Gloria is waiting - before I go in to see John - we need
to talk and this time I want you to tell me the truth.
** Meantime at B&B Law - after talking to Scott on the phone - Paul reports
that Sheila hasn't gotten any of his messages. JT - he had all the details
about the memorial service - right? Paul - same information as in the
Chronicle. JT - do you still think this is the best way to draw her out of
hiding? Maybe we should go over where we're putting our people again. Paul
- doesn't everyone have their assignments? JT - yeah - but (and he comes up
with a bunch of questions) Paul - all of that's been taken into account -
but I have a feeling we're missing something - maybe we haven't been asking
the right questions. Paul wants to look at JT's list again - he finds the
family across the road from Perkins farm has been on vacation - Paul gives
them a call - finds that neighbor has seen lights on at farm that can't be
explained by automatic timer. Paul tells JT to over his file again to see
if anything jumps out at him - then you can go over and help Scott at the
chapel. JT - where are you going (but Paul charges out) to the chapel or
the farm?
** At Mikey's - Kevin is trying to make his brother feel better about the
memorial service - even if you think Lauren isn't dead – this is the right
thing to do - it's better for you to get past this - I'm going to help Scott
- see you at the chapel. Mikey sits down to write the eulogy - puts the pen
down - I can't do this - not now.
** In the bomb shelter - Lauren and Sheila find a column is in their way.
Lauren - we'll just have to move it. Sheila - are you crazy? Lauren - it's
the only way out, Sheila - what do you want to do? Sheila - we'll have to
move this table first. Lauren - can you get down all right? Sheila - I'm
OK - let's do it. Lauren - a little bit more. They each take a side of
column to push as dirt drop from ceiling. Lauren - one more time. (grunts
and groans) Sheila - it only moved a couple of inches - if we kick the
bottom that will do it. Lauren - what about the roof? Sheila - we already
know we can't get out of here with this in the way - let's try again -
ready? Lauren - will it hold? Sheila - I think so. Lauren - let's get the
table back. Sheila climbs up on table - OH NO! Lauren - what? She sees the
grate on outside of window - she gets the shovel and starts pounding on it.
Sheila - face it, Lauren - we're not getting out of here! Lauren keeps
working until she's exhausted - you could have helped me up there. Sheila -
there isn't room for two of us. Lauren - you can take a turn while I'm
resting. They exchange nasty words. Lauren - I don't care what your sob
story is - people who had it worse than you - came out decent people -
nothing excuses you for the horrible things you did to me - nothing. Sheila
- where there is life there is hope was just a bunch of garbage. Lauren
goes back to work - Sheila pitches in - as they work together - the roof
starts to cave in - screams!

TALE: At NE - Yolanda is delivering mail when she hears Neil and Dru
talking. Neil - you didn't answer my question. Dru - about Yolanda? Neil
- yes. Dru - Honey, what do expect me to say? I'm not exactly excited about
the arrangement. Neil - why is that? Dru - like you have to ask - its one
thing to ask her to live with us - but to have her at work too - Yolanda
here, there, everywhere - she's getting on my last nerve - don't get me
wrong - I think we've worked miracles with Yolanda. Neil - I think Yolanda
worked her own miracles, Darlin'. Dru - that's right - she should be proud
of that - but we did not adopt that woman - there should be limits. Neil -
and you've reached yours. Dru - is that a bad thing? Neil - if you are
starting to feel hemmed in because Yolanda is working here… Dru - no - I
just want to check with Sharon to find out how she really got the job. Neil
looks at this watch - I wonder if Devon has given Daniel the letter yet?
Dru - I sure hope so - the sooner that relationship is officially over - the
better off we all will be. Moments later - Dru finds Yolanda in her office
- what are you doing here? Yolanda - I work here now - I'm restocking your
desk supplies. Dru - is that part of your job description. Yolanda - no,
but I want to show you how grateful I am - Sharon got me this job - but it
was only because of you - it looks like your keyboard needs to be cleaned -
I can get one of those little… Dru - no, please don't. Yolanda - I'm doing
it again - overstepping. Dru - it's OK - it was a nice gesture. Yolanda -
I'm starting to think I shouldn't have taken this job in the first place.
She plays it just right - Dru doesn't want her to lose this opportunity -

** At CL - Devon is looking at the jukebox when Sierra comes in - hey, Devon
- how was your trip? Devon - it was fine - oh, man. Sierra turns to look.
Devon - whatever you do - don't tell Daniel I'm here - OK? (as he heads for
patio) Daniel - hey, Sierra - what's goin' on? Sierra - not much - how
were your holidays? Daniel - I'll tell you later - right now I'm looking
for Devon - have you seen him around? Later - Sierra tells Devon the coast
is clean. Devon - where's Daniel? Sierra - outside - are you going to tell
me what this is really about? After extracting a promise of secrecy - Devon
tells her about letter Mr. Winters wants him to give Daniel - and the one
Lily sent to say it isn't true - she still loves him. If I don't give Daniel
Lily's letter she'll hate me - and if I don't give him the one her parents
made her write - Mr. Winters will have my head. Just then - Daniel comes in
- look, I know you have news from Lily for me - and you're not going
anywhere till I get it. Devon - I just barely got a chance to slip her that
present you got her. Daniel - did she like it? Devon - I wasn't there when
she opened it. Daniel - didn't she give you a note or something for me?
Daniel sees Neil come in - we're not finished, Devon. Neil - Sierra,
Devon. Sierra - hi, Mr. Winters. Neil - I gather from what I just saw - you
gave Daniel the letter. Devon - I didn't and I'm not going to. Neil - I'm
disappointed in you - just give it to me - I'll do it. Neil stops Daniel -
we need to talk - this is something you need to hear.
RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR: At outhouse - Nick is on his cell -
Phyllis, is that you? Phyllis - yeah, it's me. Nick - what's up? Phyllis
- you tell me - I saw your name on my caller ID. Nick - right. Phyllis -
so why did you call me and hang up? Nick - I was just calling you about
your sudden trip out of town - is everything all right? Phyllis - all is
well - so you heard about my trip. Nick - my mom wasn't thrilled about
being stood up this morning. Phyllis - that's why I'm standing on her
doorstep right now - I'm going to explain. Nick - is she giving you a hard
time? Phyllis - I was about to ring her doorbell when I got distracted by
this call. Just then - Nikki opens the door - I thought I heard someone out
here - I'm sorry for interrupting - I didn't realize my front step doubled
as your personal phone booth. Phyllis - you're not - I'll be a minute.
Nick - just hang up - I'll talk to you later. Phyllis - just make sure that
package arrives on time - that's it - may I come in? Nikki - give me one
good reason why - to show up hours late for a meeting is very unprofessional
- it doesn't fly with me. Phyllis - OK - I heard about a wellness center in
Chicago similar to ours - so I went to check it out. Nikki - and you
couldn't tell me that? Phyllis - I'm sorry - my behavior has been erratic -
but that's all over - it's done. They go on with their meeting - Phyllis
reports center in Chicago is nothing like theirs - Nikki seems satisfied - I
just want to know ahead of time what you're up to - she thinks something is
wrong with Phyllis - it's a look she see in her eyes. Phyllis won't admit
anything is wrong - I think you are seeing things that aren't there.
** At gym - Victor is punching on long bag when Nick comes in - getting rid
of your frustrations? Victor - this is as good a way as any - why don't you
lace up and we can go a few rounds. Nick - seeing you go after that bag -
you might think it's personal - although I can think of something that may
have you upset. Victor - if you're talking about Victoria's engagement to
Brad - I'm not thrilled. Nick - that makes two of us. Victor goes on to say
how proud he is of Nick for working things out with Sharon. Nick - it's
taken long enough. Victor - not too many people would have kept their
family together - you dealt with Cassie's death and moved on. Nick - look -
can we talk about something else? Victor - is there something you want to
talk about - feel free. Nick - OK - do you believe in destiny? Victor - I
think you make your own destiny. Nick - I mean DNA - the acorn doesn't fall

ALLIANCE: On a
farm near Genoa City, WI - Lauren and Sheila are desperately trying to get
out of the hole they're in - a grate on the outside of the air duct is their
latest objective - without that off they are trapped in a bomb shelter that
is caving in. Lauren - I got it. She gets down - as stuff starts to fall
puts her hands on her head. Sheila is still by the pole when she sees more
stuff coming down - calls out to Lauren to move.
At the
same time - Paul is cautiously looking around when he smells gas. Sheila
comes over to help Lauren - come on, you have to get up! Lauren seems dazed
- what happened? Sheila - we have to get out - I'm not going to die in
here and neither are you - get up - you first - don't say I haven't done
anything nice - we don't have time to debate it - give me your foot. Lauren
- I don't think I can reach it. Sheila - you have to try - go! Lauren -
Sheila, where are you? Sheila groans as she tries to get up. Paul -
Lauren, are you down there? Lauren - yes - help us please. Sheila - I'm
coming. Creaks, stuff falling. Paul - are you all right? Lauren - yes,
you have to get us out of here. Paul - who's with you? Lauren - Sheila and
there's not much time. Paul - grab my hand. Lauren - I'm not sure I can
stand up - Sheila, where are you? Sheila - I'm here. Just then everything
starts to cave in. Paul - grab my hand - I need to pull you out of there
now!

picture of Lauren up in front - you shouldn't be here - I object - he goes
from laughing to crying - as he has a heart-to-heart with wonderful woman
who agreed to marry him - he wonders if she would have even given him a

have said I was a sad man - and killed me - I wonder if I would have been
smart enough to fall in love with you back then - you were right - I was
never really happy until I met you - you changed everything - every day was
special - the world was amazing - the most amazing part was that you loved

rest of my life - how am I supposed to find what's good about losing you? -

- by getting you out of ICU - I'd say doctors think you're doing better.
John - they'd really make me feel better by sending me home - BTW - I have a
question - I want an honest answer. Jack - sure. John - ever since I woke
up and found myself here - I have a feeling people aren't telling me the
full story - it's like everyone is walking around on egg shells - and I
don't like it. Jack (as he takes his dad back to his room) you need to
concentrate on what you do know - doctors want you to get some rest. John -
I still want to know what I was doing on that icy road at the time of
night. Jack - you'll remember soon enough - now don't get stressed out -
you're having an EKG and you don't want a bad reading - let's get you back

** Meanwhile - Gloria is pushing Ashley to tell her what really happened the
night Tom was shot - starting with - where did you get the gun? Ash repeats
the obvious. Glo - where did you get the key to open the drawer? Your
father is sitting right there - do you want me to ask him? Ash - I don't
want you bothering my father with a lot questions - so whatever you're
thinking - save it until later. Glo - no, I need to know now. Ash - why
are you doing this? Glo - because John is my husband. Jack - Dad is back
in his room - they'll be doing an EKG soon - I've got to get out of here for
awhile - BTW - judging from what he just told me - he'll know what happened
soon. Glo - you didn't have time to get that gun - that has me scared to
death.

AROUND: At main house on Newman ranch - Phyllis is with Nick - you think
I left town because of what happened between us? Nick - I was just asking.
Phyllis - I don't feel guilty - should I feel guilty? Nick - I definitely
should. Phyllis - do you? Nick - I can't answer that. Phyllis - you're
not the only one who strayed. Nick - what happened between Brad and my wife
wasn't the same. Phyllis - you weren't happy when you found out - right?
Nick - no - but what right do I have to complain? Phyllis - none - but
you're a man and that's what you guys do. Nick smiles - yeah. Phyllis
notices a button on Nick's shirt - you should fix that because it's going to
fall off - you feel this too - I don't know what's going on but it's very
dangerous. Nick - I talked to Daniel today - you can't just take off
without telling your son where you're going. Phyllis - I didn't realize so
many people would miss me. Nick - where did you go? Phyllis - Chicago - I
went to check out a wellness spa. Nick - so it was a business trip. Phyllis
- yeah - it's not anything like what Nikki and I have proposed - but it was
informative. Nick - I suppose you got a massage to get a feel for the
place. Phyllis - of course - a mud pack - a facial and other stuff like
that - they have a lot of hydro therapy services and they have an herbal
steam room - it was great - I was sweating - you know - I have to go - I
have a million things to do. Nick - me too. Their eyes are fixed on each
other. Nick - we can't keep doing this. Phyllis - we're not going
anything. Nick - well, we're thinking about it. Phyllis - I'm not - at
least I'm trying hard not to. Nick - we need to stay away from each other.
Phyllis - OK - let's do that - starting now. Nick - yeah, right now.
Phyllis - good - maybe I can go to that spa in Chicago - they have huge cold
plunge pool. Nick - you don't need to go back to Chicago - I'm going - I'll
