PERMANENT FATAL ERRORS?: It's nano seconds later at Memorial Hospital in Genoa City, WI - Jack is stunned - Dad confessed? Bardwell - it wasn't a confession - it was the desperate act of father trying to protect his daughter and I don't believe a word of it. John - what do you mean you don't believe me? Will - look, John - Ashley has already admitted she killed Tom Fisher. John - I will not let… Will - you should focus on her defense! Jack - Dad, let it go. Will grabs his coat and heads out. Mikey - what's going on? What was the DA doing here? Ash - you don't have worry about your legal obligation - my father just confessed. Mikey - to Bardwell without an attorney present. Glo - fortunately he didn't believe John. Jack - we know what you're trying to do, Dad - it's best to leave them as is. John - with Ashley facing a murder trial? Ash - Dad, you need to calm down. Glo - she's right - you need to take care of yourself. John - Michael, this is insane. Mikey explains that because John confessed without him there and the DA didn't drop charges against Ash - his obligation is to her - I'll do my best to defend her. Ash - I'm not afraid, Dad - I have total confidence in Mikey. Glo - so do I. John - what about you, Jack? Jack - I'm still ticked off because he let you go back to the crime scene. John - dammit - I did that on my own - I was having memory ~flashes~ I need to find out the truth. Ash - Dad, calm down! Jack still wants to blame Mikey who points out that when John's memory came back it was too late. John - now that you've all ganged up on me - what's next? Mikey - don't worry, John - I'll take care of everything. Glo goes off to find out when she can take John home. John - you three must realize this is not right. Ash - right or wrong doesn't matter - we all love you too much to let anything happen to you - take some comfort in that ~hug~ Glo comes back to report Dr Walker wants John to stay the night. Jack - I'll pick you in the morning - now I have to get back to work. Mikey and Ash need to huddle. Glo - I'm staying the night - I don't want you out of my sight again. When John's nurse bring him some pills to help him sleep - he takes the pills and sends Gloria off to get a good night's sleep in a bed - that chair won't do! With Gloria out the door - John spits out the pills and make a call.

** Lauren joins Paul at AC - I ordered you some coffee - is there some reason you wanted to see me? Lauren says she wants to catch up with an old friend - when they start talking about what's happening to Ashley - he is sorry he didn't know what was going on with Tom and Mikey earlier - I would have put a stop to it before it got so out of control. Lauren - I knew Mikey and Ash were up to something concerning Tom - but I don't know the details. Paul - believe me - you don't want to know. She wonders why Ash would get involved with someone like Tom. Paul - it wouldn't have happened except for … Lauren - you were going to say Mikey - I can't ignore this anymore - please tell me exactly what they did. Paul refers her to Mikey - but Lauren figures it out on her own - Paul points out - vigilante justice never works - will it hurt Ash's defense? - Paul doesn't know - but he does know Bardwell wouldn't prosecute Ash for first degree murder if he didn't think he'd win - this is a high profile case and he may be using it to move up. Paul's cell rings - I've got to go - let's do this again - soon - Lauren is hoping that Mikey will come up with something to win for Ash - how about you? Paul - I'll be fine - let's pray Mikey comes up with something - come on, I'll walk you to your car.

** Ash thinks Jack is right - Dad won't go along unless you can guarantee him you'll get me off. Mikey - I wish I could do that for you - but we do have a good case for self-defense. Ash - even when I brought a gun? Mikey catalogs his strategy - 1st - make Tom look the bad guy he was - 2nd get 12 sympathetic people on the jury - 3rd - let jury know Tom was a fugitive who kidnapped Lauren Fenmore - 4th - you'll look like a mother desperate to save her daughter and family - you were afraid for your life when Tom confronted you in that alley - the jury will be with you. Ash - I just hope they don't find out we set Tom up on a drug charge - this pillar of the community stuff will be null and void. Mikey - only 3 people know and we've covered our tracks. Ash confirms they have a good case - Mikey agrees - but warns her about Bardwell - he'll do everything he can to win.

** Paul stops by to see John at Memorial - what can I do for you? John - I want to hire you to prove I killed Tom Fisher.

** At the AC - Bardwell learns that his hunch was right - Ashley's fingerprints are on the drug bags.

RED ROCK & ROLL: At NE - Phyllis and Nick are going at it hot and heavy - until someone knocks and rattles the door. Nick - shhh… Phyllis whispers - who is it? Nick - I don't know - maybe the janitor. Sharon takes out her cell and reports her problem (Phyllis - that's your wife - what do we do?) - if you can't come up here right away - I'll come down and get them - thanks. They hear Sharon walk off. A few minutes later - Phyllis is busy on her computer when Sharon pops in - oh my gosh, Sharon - you scared me. Sharon - Phyllis, I was just here - the door was locked. Phyllis - I had to go down to research to pick up some files - I like to keep the door locked after hours. Sharon - I left my keys here. Phyllis - I didn't see them. Sharon - have you seen Nick? He wasn't in his office. Phyllis - nope - you have plans for tonight - right? Sharon - yeah - I haven't ordered the food yet - and I have to pick it up. Phyllis - if I happen to see him I'll tell him to get a move on. Sharon - thanks . . as she heads out. Phyllis holds her head and tries to calm down. Nick comes out of the toilet - wow - there's our excitement for tonight. Phyllis - a little too much for me - listen - your wife is planning dinner - you should go. Nick - yeah - you going to be OK? Phyllis - I'm fine - I'm a big girl - I know what I'm doing - but I can do it without the heart stoppers though. Nick - me too - I'll see you tomorrow. After a passionate ~kiss~ Phyllis checks the hall - and Nick skedaddles.

TROUBLEMAKER?: At AC over drinks - Daniel mentions that Mac left in a hurry. CC - I didn't notice. Dan - yeah, right. CC - I don't know why you're blaming me - JT is the one who didn't tell his girlfriend he was with me. Dan - you don't seem worried. CC - why should I be - it's not my problem. Dan - maybe not - but you seem to be enjoying it. CC - so much is going on with my family right now - the last thing I want is to cause trouble between JT and Mac - honestly - I don't need anymore drama in my life. Dan - I know about that. CC - why did you and Lily break up? Dan - I wish I knew - but it's a waste of time to fight it. CC - you don't seem like a guy who would give up that easily. They tease about going back to school - CC suggests that Daniel could be her roommate - to screen your dates? - no, relationships are too hard. They missed the last movie - and Daniel has to get going. CC - homework? Dan - yeah - the curse of my life - see you again. As he heads out Jack comes in - CC calls out to Uncle Jack - how's Granddad? Jack - I just came from the hospital - hey, he's fine - they just want him to stay the night. CC - do you know what I've been thinking - the Fisher's are responsible for all of this mess - if we could get rid of them - we'd be fine.

** At the downtown loft - JT comes in - Mac, where are you? You're not mad at me are you? Mac trots out in short shorts - almost a shirt - in a blonde wig (shades of Grace & Tony) - you doggone right I'm mad, Cowboy - about you ~kiss~ JT watches her wiggle off - do I know you? Mac - would you like to? JT - yeah, but… Mac - cat got your tongue? JT - it's this outfit - wow. Mac - I remember how you drooled over the girl in the movie. JT - this is whole other side of you. Mac - what do you think? JT - hee haw - come here ~kiss~ Mac - I'm sorry about getting bent out at the spa. JT - I wasn't going to keep seeing Colleen a secret from you. Mac - please don't start keeping things from me because you're afraid of how I'll react. JT - I won't - but I know you wouldn't freak out about a little thing like that. Mac - you're right - but I'll bet Colleen thinks I did. JT - do you really think she wants to cause trouble between us? Mac - in a word - yes - as long as you don't keep anything from me - we'll be just fine - I rather know than not. JT- I'm not the one keeping secrets here. Mac - meaning? JT - it's like I'm looking at two people. Mac - come give both of us a ~kiss~ then Mac takes JT off to bed to see if blondes have more fun.

LOVE SICK BLUES: Phyllis gets home - calls out for Daniel - he's not around and she can't stop thinking about what happened with Nick - she see laptop is on - maybe some cyber golf will get me off this stuff… Daniel comes home with food to go - I wanted to make sure you had something to eat - over dinner - he tells his mom about seeing Jack - he really seemed bummed - his family is going through a crisis right now - but every time I reach out to him - he does something else to alienate me. Dan - is it really over between you two? Phyllis - yes, and I'll be fine - and I won't be alone.

** Nick arrives at main house - Sharon wants to know where he's been. Nick - I told you - I had something to wrap up at the office. Sharon - then why weren't you there? Nick - what do you mean? Sharon - I got down to the lobby and I realized I forgot my keys - I went back up - you were no where to be found. Nick - I did go down to accounting for a minute. Sharon - oh - even Phyllis didn't know where you were. Nick - why would she? What smells good? Sharon - uh la la - food from the French place - and we're here alone. Nick - Noah isn't joining us? Sharon - nope - your parents ordered pizza. Nick - look at this - candles - you went all out. Sharon - I wish I'd had time to cook - I feel guilty that I leave you and Noah to fend for yourselves when I'm gone. Nick - you have nothing to feel guilty about. Sharon - OK - I'm glad you and Phyllis worked out your issues. Nick - what issues? Sharon - don't tell me something wasn't going on - she said you worked it out - that's great - I like her. Nick takes Sharon's hand… Sharon - do you want more coffee? Nick - no thanks - I'm done. Sharon has been thinking about taking Noah skiing and she wants to ask Daniel to come with - he promised he'd teach Noah to snowboard - it will give us more time alone together. Nick - fine (as Sharon goes on talking - she changes to Phyllis in Nick mind) I'll help clear the dishes. Nick comes back to say dishes are in dishwasher - time to head home - I have an early meeting. Just then - Sharon gets a call - I'll let you know. Nick - another trip? Sharon - only if it's OK with you. Nick - you're really good for business - of course it is. Sharon heads out to tell Nikki and Victor they can have their house back - while Nick finishes up in the kitchen - I won't be long. But Nick calls Phyllis - I have to see you tomorrow - the hotel? yeah - I've gotta go.

EASY TO BE STUPID - HARD TO BE SMART: It's the next morning in Genoa City, WI - just as Paul promised he shows up at Memorial to see John - before you say anything - the answer is still no. John - I need you to prove that I shot Fisher. Paul - I can't. John - why not? Paul - because I don't believe you. John - I remember everything - I fired the gun - not Ashley. Paul - fine - then you're going to have to convince me - tell me everything that happened - step by step. Even with John's input - Paul isn't sure. John - I'm not making this up. Paul - let's say I believe you. John - I'm not interested in hypothetical - I can't allow my flesh and blood to pay for something I did. Paul - that's it - I'm not sure you did. John - then investigate it - prove that I'm lying or not - if you don't I'll find someone who will. Paul agrees to help - but points out it won't be easy - I've talked to everyone that was in the steakhouse that night - is there anything else you can tell me that might help. John suddenly remembers that Tom bumped into him. Paul - that may be just what I need - I'll check it out and get back to you.

** Ashley finds Brad and Vikki having breakfast - hello, I hope I'm not interrupting. Brad - hi - we were just finishing. Vikki - care to join us? Ash - thanks - you look like you're in good spirits. Brad - Ash, there is something you should know - Victoria and I are engaged. Ash takes it stride - I'm glad you've been able to move on with your life - congratulations. Vikki - thanks Ashley and heads to work - in a heart-to-heart with Ash - Brad can't understand how she got involved with a low life like Tom. Ash - whole thing with Tom is complicated - I got caught up into something - important thing is that Mikey says I have a good chance. Brad points out she needs to get her message out to potential jurors so they will be sympathetic to her - there is no doubt in my mind that this was self-defense - we both know the DA wants to paint you as a cold blooded killer - he's probably digging into your past right now. Ash - let him dig. Brad - you have my support 100% - but it's important that you go into this with your eyes wide open. Ash - I know - hope for the best - prepare for the worst - I've got it. Brad - I pray that doesn't happen - I'll see you later ~kiss~

As the waiter walks by - Ash asks for some coffee. Leanna (with her cameraman close behind) - just the woman I wanted to see. Ash - what do you want, Leanna? Leanna - come on, Ashley - everyone in town is talking about you - now it's my turn. Ash - you're hardly someone I open up to. Leanna - are you still upset about my book? Ash - I'm sure your tactics haven't changed. Leanna - so it wouldn't help to say I've turned over a new leaf? Ash - this doesn't look like it. Leanna - I have - you are legitimate front page news - and frankly your side of the story ain't out there - John, would you excuse us for a minute? Look - back when I wrote Ruthless - I did some things to your reputation I'm not proud of - this is my chance to repair the damage and let the world know the truth. Ash - will you promise to not edit what I say? Leanna - it will be the truth - straight from your lips. Ash - and you won't ask any questions that will make me appear unsympathetic? Leanna - from what I gather about Tom Fisher - you are the victim here. Ash - OK - let's do it. Leanna - roll tape - I'm sure my first question is one people are asking themselves - what is your real connection to Tom Fisher? Ash - I met him at Memorial when my father was in the hospital - I had no idea who he was - he seemed nice. Leanna - so you had a friendship? Ash - we were acquaintances - I had no idea my father was married to his ex-wife. Leanna - it's hard to believe John Abbott would lower himself in that way. Ash - it quickly became apparent why Tom came here - he was after money. Leanna - did he ask you for any? Ash - no, but he was infatuated with me. Leanna - he was stalking you. Ash - exactly - there were phone calls - he started showing up at my home - I quickly became afraid of him - I never knew where or when he'd appear - he even accosted me at work several times. Leanna - it still sends a chill down your spine - doesn't it? Ash - it does - I'm sure every woman out there can relate to the fear I was experiencing. Leanna - is that why you had a gun? Ash - I have a young daughter - as things became worse I was concerned about her - it was a legally registered weapon - when Tom was wanted for Lauren Fenmore's murder and on the run… Leanna - did you think something similar could happen to you? Ash - of course - or to my daughter - he threatened my family. Leanna - so it was definitely self-defense? Ash - I never meant to kill anyone - I was just trying to protect my family. Leanna - you don't need to be afraid anymore - he's gone forever - you were in a horrible situation with a dangerous man. Ash - he was a child abuser as well. Leanna - if you found yourself in that alley again - what would you do? Brad - what the hell is going on here? Leanna - this is Ashley Abbott's estranged husband - Brad Carlton. Brad - are you actually talking to this woman? Leanna - why not - Ashley has a story that speaks to many women in our audience. Brad - you're not known for your journalist integrity - turn off that camera. Leanna rips Brad for not sticking with his wife - then signs off leaving her audience questioning whether Ashley Abbott could be a cold blooded killer.

** At Mikey's office - Lauren asks if he wants more coffee. Mikey - I'm fine - actually I'm great. Lauren - I know you must have been hungry - you left before I woke up. Mikey - I didn't want to wake you. Lauren - that's all right - I know you've been under a lot stress with Ashley's case. Mikey - what's that? Lauren - we've been dancing around this subject for a while now - I'd like you to come clean - I know you and Ashley had something to do with Tom's drug bust - I want to understand why you'd do something so stupid. Mikey claims he did what he had to do - don't forget Tom was a fugitive - he kidnapped you and held you for days - it's shame Ash was charged with anything - everyone knows who and what Tom was. Lauren - but he saved my life. Mikey - it wasn't because he cared about you - it was greed. Lauren - don't change the subject - I didn't want to believe him - but all of Tom's wrong doings don't justify you playing judge and jury. Mikey - I had to do something. Lauren - now what - you can't guarantee Ash won't go to jail - no one can. They don't have time to finish as Lauren goes off to boutique Will Bardwell comes in and he tells Mikey that he can prove Ashley was conspiring to sell drugs with Tom Fisher - her finger prints are all over those bags - so much for your pillar of society.

MONEYMAN AND MORE: At the outhouse - Nick comes in to find Sharon still there - I was making sure Miguel would pick Noah up after school. Nick - I could have done that. Sharon - I assumed you'd be in meetings all day. Nick - nothing I have going on is more important than Noah. Sharon - I didn't mean to imply it wasn't - what do you have going on? Nick - just meetings - nothing I can't reschedule - unlike you - Ms Hotshot Spokesmodel - are you excited about your trip? Sharon - yes - but I'm still exhausted from Denver. Nick - I had no idea BoN would take off like this. Sharon - it took us all by surprise. Nick - but you're loving it - I haven't seen you this happy in awhile. Sharon - yeah - I am - but you seem happier too. Nick nods - come on, I'll give you a ride to the office - we can talk more on the way there.

** At NE - Victor stops by to break the news to Phyllis - I'm going to be working with you and Nikki on the wellness center project. Phyllis is surprised - I thought you were putting up the seed money - that's all. Victor - exactly - but this also means I'm willing to take the blame in case something goes wrong - can you say the same about yourself? Phyllis - of course - when I was half the company - now I'm just a 5th wheel. Victor - you don't have to be. Phyllis - what if Jack gets an injunction - this will all be… Victor - that won't happen - I'll use all means at my disposal to see that it doesn't - you should be happy to have someone with my expertise and know-how working on your project. Phyllis - as long as you don't take over. Victor - I won't - I'll run the financial side - you and Nikki will do the creative side. Phyllis - dammit, Victor - why couldn't you have taken up golf?

** Later - Phyllis runs into Sharon and Nick in the hall - what are you doing in my neck of the woods? Nick - we're getting Sharon's materials for her trip. Phyllis - a trip? Sharon - yeah, Dru called last night - it's some event we need to cover. Phyllis - are you going today? Sharon - yes - I know it's short notice - but I'll be back tomorrow. Phyllis - knock 'em dead. Sharon - thanks (her cell rings) hi, Dru - OK - I'll meet you downstairs. Nick - so you're off. Sharon - we need to get to the airport right away. Nick gives Sharon a ~hug~ have a safe trip. Sharon - love you. Nick - love you too. Phyllis - good luck. Sharon - thanks . . as she rushes off. Phyllis and Nick go into her office. Nick - having a bad day? Phyllis - you could say that - I just found out that Victor is going to be working with Nikki and me - he wants to take over the financial aspects of our wellness project. Nick - why didn't you just say no. Phyllis - because Nikki already signed off on it. Nick - I guess when my father sees an opportunity he goes for it. Phyllis - is that where you get it? They agree to meet at 3 at the hotel - don't do anything - I'll have something special planned - I promise we'll have fun.

** Victor walks into main house - hi, My Darling - have you seen your mother? Vikki - not since last night. Victor - then you haven't heard the news - your father is working full-time again. Vikki - you are? Victor - I'm working with Phyllis and your mother. Vikki - you must be excited. Victor - I'm looking forward to it - but I'm a little upset about you. Vikki - why? Victor - this situation with Ashley and indirectly Brad - must put a lot of pressure on you. Vikki - not as much as you may think - Brad and I have decided to go public with our engagement - Ashley gave us her blessings earlier at AC - their divorce becomes final today. Victor - I think it's too soon - can't you wait until after this trial? Vikki - we've already waited a month - we're not doing anything wrong - I think this ring should go where it belongs. Victor - did Brad Carlton pressure you into having this wedding? Vikki - of course not - Dad, why can't you be happy for me - at least once in my life. Victor - of course I want to be happy for you ~hug~

WINTERS TALE - EMANCIPATION: When Devon comes out of his room he finds the house decorated for his 18th birthday - after what happened last year - Dru and Neil weren't taking any chances this year. They want him to open the big gift on coffee table first. When he does - out pops Lily - who gives him a big ~hug~ I couldn't miss this - Lily thanks her parents for letting her come home for Devon's birthday - and promises to stay away from Daniel - that's over for sure. After getting a few pictures of the happy family Dru brings out Devon's gift from his mother - it's a sweater. Lily - don't forget the card. Devon - happy birthday, Baby - I hope you like the sweater - I wanted you to know I'm thinking about you on your big day - you're a man now - but you're still my special boy - I miss you - and I'm so proud of you - love always - Mom. Neil - why don't you try it on, Son. Devon - I like it when you call me that. Neil - now that you're 18 - you're technically not our foster son anymore. Devon - I hope you won't kick me out. Neil - we can't force you to stay - neither can the State - you're free to make you own decisions. Devon - I'm making one right now - I want to be part of this family at least until I'm through college. Neil - hear that Dru? My favorite words - family and college. Dru - when you first came - you were so angry - you turned into a beautiful young man - you can stay as long as you like - I'm so proud of you. With the cake going down - Devon opens another gift - a computer - you guys didn't need to do that. Neil - we wanted to. Dru - that laptop is for all those papers you'll need to write in college. Devon - this is one of the best days of my life - especially with Lily being here. Neil - it's a big day - we wanted to make it special. Dru - that's right - look at the time - I have to get to the office - I'll be out of town over night - but we have a wonderful dinner planned for this weekend ~kiss~ Devon - Lily will still be around - right? Dru - that's the plan. Neil - I hate to eat cake and run - but I have go to work too - why don't you two hang out and catch up? Lily - may I go to the coffeehouse? Devon - I can go with her - I don't have class until 3rd period. Neil - OK - but… Lily - I'm so happy to be here - I won't ruin it. Dru - OK - see you tomorrow ~kiss~ Lily - thanks. Devon - thanks from me too. With her parents gone - Lily wants to know how Daniel reacted when Devon gave him her letter. Devon skates - he doesn't tell Lily that he didn't give Daniel her letter - come on, let's go the CL - OK?

JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED: As Devon's birthday continues in Genoa City, WI - needless to say - Brad is upset that Ashley tried to use Leanna Love to get her side of the story out - when you saw her you should have run the other way. Ash admits she made a horrible mistake - but when Brad suggests they don't go on with their divorce to avoid the negative impact of Leanna's story - Ash balks - this would be too much to ask of you - you need to move on with your life with Victoria. Brad wants her to at least think about it. Ash - I already have - you're the very best ex to support me like this - Gloria must have Dad home by now - I want to go check on him - but will you do me a favor - meet me back here in a little while so we can go to the courthouse together? Brad - sure ~hug~

** At the Abbott's - Gloria gets John home - she tries to help him with his coat - I can do it myself - yes you can, Mr. Abbott - John goes to sit on sofa - I'm sorry I didn't mean to snap at you - I know you didn't - why don't you kick back and relax - I'll make you a pot… - I've had it with tea - just real coffee please - OK but it will be decaf - fine, I wish everyone would stop worrying about me and focus on helping Ashley - are you still convinced to tell the DA that you shot Tom? - what's the point - I tried - the man didn't believe me - that's a good thing - no, I need to have faith - so many people are committed to keeping Ashley out of prison - justice will be served. Ash comes in just as Glo is giving John his coffee - how do you feel? John - fine - and to answer your 2nd question - I'm not going to chase after the DA to get him to accept my confession. Glo - your father finally came to his senses - he knows you're doing the right thing. Ash - is that true? John confirms it - but when Glo goes upstairs to check - Ash wants to know what 'really' is going on. John - this isn't an act - I wish I could do more. Ash asks for a little advice - Brad thinks getting our divorce now will be bad for my case. John - so he is willing to put his life on hold. Ash - don't you think it would unfair for me to ask him do that - it could be for a long time and he is engaged to Victoria. John - I think it's a wise thing to do - under the circumstances - I want this over for you more than anything. Ash - I know that - it worries me - protecting your family has always come first for you - I just didn't realize how far you'd take it. John - if I'd known what would happen to you because of my actions - I would have done things differently - I'm going to keep a positive attitude and hope this over soon - that's why I think you and Bradley should wait. Ash gives him a ~hug~ you always know what to say to make me feel better - but I haven't changed my mind, Daddy - it's time for Brad and me to end our marriage.

** At Mikey's office - he is trying to make Will Bardwell see that he is wrong about Ashley - Will won't back off - she had means, motive and opportunity - if I were you I'd advise my client to plead guilty. Mikey - I can't do that because Ashley isn't guilty of anything. Will thinks he can make a good case - as he points out why - Mikey counters with other explanations - when they come to an impasse - Will leaves - I'll see you in court - Mikey looks worried - what have I done? Mikey is working when Lauren stops by to see if he wants to go out to lunch. Mikey - I can't go out. Lauren - is this all for Ash's case? Mikey - thanks to Tom - he is ruining lives from the grave. Lauren - what's going on? Mikey - I had a visit from our friendly DA - that hole Ash is in got 900 feet deeper - and I'm not sure I can dig her out. Curious Lauren starts pushing - she wants to know what's going on. Mikey insists it's better if she doesn't know if she's going to testify for Ash. Mikey says just enough for Lauren to figure it out - what Tom told me is true. Mikey - it was all my fault. ** Brad walks into Will Bardwell's office - I resent being summoned to your office - I'm a busy man. Bardwell - I am too - so I'll get right to the point - I have some questions about your wife only you can answer. Brad - about? Will - your wife - the charges against her and her relationship with Tom Fisher. Brad - you have a hell of a lot of nerve pulling a stunt like this.

SPREADING THE NEWS: At NE - Vikki finds Nick in 1100 - have you seen Mom? Nick - nope, I was just leaving her a note. Vikki - did Sharon get off OK? Nick - yeah - Dru just picked her up - see you. Vikki - wait - got a second? Nick - sure, what's up? Vikki - I'd like to share my happy news with you - see (she hold up her hand) Nick - what does that mean? Vikki - Brad is with Ashley finishing up the paper work on their divorce - once that's done - we won't have to hide our relationship anymore and I can start acting like a normal happily engaged woman. Nick - that's great. Vikki - you can at least pretend to be happy for me. Nick - I still think you can do a hell of a lot better than Carlton - but if he makes you happy - that's all that matters. Vikki - thanks, Nick - and thanks for not lecturing me about how long I'm waiting for my fiancé to get a divorce. Nick - why ruin the fun for Mom and Dad? If he's really the one you shouldn't worry about what anyone thinks. Vikki - wise words from my brother who faced a similar share of skepticism before he got married - look how well that turned out. Just then - Sharon blows in - that was the shortest trip on record. Nick - what are you doing here? Sharon - hello to you too - Chicago got snowed in - so our trip was postponed. Nick - OK. Sharon - I guess you're stuck with me. Nick laughs - you must be disappointed that your trip got canceled. Sharon - no, it gives me more time to spend with my family - BTW - how's Abby - did she go to school? Vikki - yes, I think we've made a breakthrough. Sharon - great - my day is all messed up - want to join me for lunch. Nick - I'd like to - but I have something I need to take care of. Vikki - why don't we head back to my office and work on rescheduling that trip? Sharon - OK - see you later. Nick -bye for now. Nick picks up his cell - sends Phyllis a message.

** At the hotel - Phyllis is waiting for Nick - puts on a CD - then calls room service - please send a pitcher of sangria to room 714 - thanks - her cell rings - Daniel, what can I do for you? Dan - were we robbed? Phyllis - what do you mean? Dan - a bunch of stuff was missing this morning. Phyllis - if you're talking about computer games - they are safe with me - I'm doing a presentation on the youth market. Dan - kids my age won't be lining up to get goop on their face. Phyllis - do you speak for every teenager? Dan - maybe. Phyllis laughs - where are you? Dan - at the CL with Colleen. Phyllis - you're spending a lot of time with her. Dan - we're eloping tonight. Phyllis - just make sure you're back by midnight - seriously - how are you doing? Dan - OK - I'm not freaking out about Lily - I gotta go. Phyllis - talk to you later - where are you, Nick? Next time her cell rings - it's a text message from Nick - I'm sorry I can't make - Phyllis flips her cell shut - that's OK - there is always tomorrow.

** At the CL - Daniel finds CC on the patio. CC - you look happy. Dan - I am - you inspire me. CC - I inspire every guy I meet. Dan - is that so - seriously - I'm taking you up on your challenge. CC - which is? Dan - I'm applying to NYU. CC - really? Dan - yeah - starting over in NYC - I'd get a chance to meet new people - it sounds great to me. CC - and it's the perfect way to get over Lily. Dan - Lily who? - I know I missed the fall deadline - but it's not too late. CC - what do you want to study? Dan - everything - how about environmental science or political science - I don't know - how about philosophy - would you give me some advice about how to get admitted? CC - what's in it for me? Dan - I can think of a few ways to make it worth your while. CC - how? For right now - he has tickets to a concert by a hot group tonight - and in NY it will be easy to get comp tickets to almost anything. CC - until you get a girlfriend. Daniel assures her that won't happen - it was too hard getting over Lily - do we have a deal? CC agrees - I'll be here for you.

As Lily and Devon come in she moans and groans about school in Vermont - I feel like I've been let out of prison. Dylan welcomes Lily back - what can I get you guys? Lily - latte? Devon - and blueberry muffins. Lily - two please - I haven't felt this free in a long time. Devon - today is about freedom for both of us. Lily - I'm sorry - I've been going on and on about me on your birthday. Devon - don't worry about it. Lily - 18 - how does it feel? Devon - a little scary - I think I'm going to miss Ms Davis. Lily - your case worker - huh. Devon - yeah, she's known me since I was a little kid - she sent me a birthday card - said I can visit anytime I want. Lily - that was nice. Dylan - here you go. Lily - my treat - it's your birthday. Devon - having you here is the best gift of all - I wish you could stay. Lily - me too - but you know how my parents are - for now I'm just going to enjoy myself - can I use your cell? Devon - who are you going to call? Lily - Daniel. Devon - I don't think it's a good idea - I don't want to get caught between you and your parents. Lily - his name can't be on my cell bill - you gave him my second letter - so what's the difference. Sierra comes in with a birthday gift for Devon to save the day for him - it's a student's guide to Boston - just what he needs - you'll never guess who else is in town. Lily - who? ** At AC - Sharon gets in line to place an order. Brad comes over - I thought you were on a business trip. Sharon - it got canceled because of snow in Chicago - are you OK? Brad - Ash and I just had an ugly run in with Leanna Love. Sharon - she would come snooping around. Brad - it galls the hell out me that she'd use our divorce as a weapon against Ash. Sharon offers to help. Brad - I don't think you can unless you can get Ash not to sign the divorce papers - it's the only way to stop the negative press. Brad sings Vikki's praises. Sharon - if she's all that you say she is she won't mind waiting if the timing is wrong - you should go with your instincts, Brad. Sharon puts in her to-go order - goes back to talk to Brad. Brad - whatever Ash and I decide to do - it should be what's best for Abby - and he now realizes he doesn't have to protect her from all things negative. Sharon - this is different - I wouldn't put it past Leanna to track down Abby and put her on camera. Brad - I won't let that happen. Sharon - the only way to avoid this - is to stay married. Brad's cell rings - hello - this is he - you want me to do what?

** Phyllis gets back to her office - hey, what are you doing here? Nick - Sharon's business trip got canceled. Phyllis - I thought it was something like that - better luck next time. Nick - thanks for understanding. Phyllis - no problem - I'm flexible - we're having fun - right? Let's not over think it. Nick - you're amazing. Phyllis - I'm a realist. Nick - you're making this so easy. Phyllis - that's what no strings means - we shouldn't have to complain or analyze this - right? Nick - this is so different. Phyllis - no expectations - just a lot of fun - a university did a study on people like me - we live longer because we live life for the moment and to the max - it's too bad it all had to go away - but it can magically reappear. Nick - and soon. Phyllis - can you imagine how I looked in that hotel room? Nick - I'm thinking black lace. Phyllis - not quite - I brought the video games. Sharon walks in. Phyllis - hey, Sharon. A FAULT RUNS THROUGH IT: It's still Devon's birthday in Genoa City, WI. At Mikey's office after he admits to Lauren that she was right about the drug bust, Lauren is stunned. That's why you and Ashley have been so secretive - what were you thinking? Mikey - that I had to do something to get Tom Fisher out of our lives. Lauren - why do you say it wasn't Ash's fault? Mikey - she couldn't have come up with this - it was all my doing. Lauren - Michael… Mikey - DA doesn't know - he thinks Ash was in business with that scum and he's going to crucify her in court. Lauren - what - it looks like a drug deal gone bad? Mikey - it will work so well in front of the jury. Will is going to think he died and went to heaven. Lauren - what if Ash decides to tell him the truth about your involvement in Tom's frame-up? Mikey - she could - and I wouldn't blame her one bit. Lauren - what are you going to do? Mikey - I don't know - I've got to think - I know what I'm not going to do - he calls Paul. Lauren - Paul couldn't help. Mikey - not for lack of trying - I'm running out of options. Lauren - meaning what? Mikey - I'm an officer of the court - I need to tell the DA the truth. Lauren - can't you talk to John - tell him to stop protecting Ashley - then the whole drug thing goes away. Mikey points out her fingerprints are on the bags of chemical - I'd be in as deep as I am already - this is a mess - you're right - what was I thinking? Tom gets his revenge after all. Lauren has a feeling Mikey is about to do something drastic. When he says he's is going to the DA she wants to know if he's thought about what it's going to him - and to them - tell me there is another way - talk to Paul or Ashley. Mikey - stop it (as takes the sobbing Lauren in his arms) I have no choice - it's over - I 'have' to go to the DA.

** Meanwhile - Will Bardwell has Brad in his office - he asks some obvious questions. Brad is annoyed - at least ask questions you can't already answer. Will - all right - how did you feel when you found out your wife was dating a drug dealing low life - a kidnapper? Tthat must have come as quite a blow - am I right? Brad - you have an odd way of getting information. Will - I don't expect any information from you - I hoping you can help me and your estranged wife at the same time - getting back to her dating… Brad - Ashley didn't have anything approaching a personal relationship with Tom Fisher. Will - then how would you describe it? Brad - he was a very dangerous pest who wouldn't take 'no' for an answer - it was either placate him or risk having him turning on her - possibly becoming violent. Will - that's not the way it looks. Brad - to Leanna Love and the other sleaze mongers? Will - the media doesn't have much to work with now - but as facts about this case become public knowledge they will. Brad - what facts? Will - all in due time. Brad - which means you're bluffing - you don't 'have' a case. Will - I 'do' have a case - a soon to be divorced socialite who happens to be a chemist - runs in the fast lane - hooks up with a notorious drug maker - shoots him dead when the going gets rough - care to refute anything about that picture? Brad - Ashley wouldn't have anything to do with illegal drugs. Will - I won't lay out my entire case but I strongly advise you to tell your wife to plead guilty. Brad - plead guilty? Will - the court will be easier on her then if she forces us to trial. Brad - 90 years instead of life? Fisher was a hardcore criminal - are you out of your mind? - do you think I am? Will - who or what Tom Fisher was has nothing to do with it - zero - you can't shoot people because you think they're bad. Ashley is going to say he made a move on her - she had no marks - he had no weapon - she had a gun - self-defense isn't going to fly - a guilty plea would go a long way with a sentencing judge - in front of a jury - she doesn't look that good. Brad - are we finished? Will - talk to her. Disgusted - Brad leaves without another word.

** At the Abbott's - Paul stops by to report that his experts found nothing new in John's car. John - this can't be a dead end. Paul - I wish you'd told me sooner that Tom fell on you after you shot him. John - he could have left blood on my coat. Paul - or anywhere else on you. John - it was cold - I was bundled up in my gray coat - I think Gloria sent it to the cleaners along with the clothes I was wearing - I wish I could remember. Glo comes out of library - I didn't know we had company. Paul - actually, I'm working on Ashley's case - maybe you can help - are John's things he wore the night of the accident back from the cleaners? Glo - what does that have to do with Ashley's case? John - please answer him, Gloria. Glo - not one word until someone tells me what's going on. Paul - it's a lot easier to answer now than from the witness stand. Glo tells him the coat is in the closet - then with urging from John goes up to get the rest of his clothes. Paul - is this the coat? John nods. Paul - I'm calling a certified messenger to get these taken to the lab right away. Glo is on the landing listening. Paul - I don't see any blood on this - but the lab may find something. John - I'm sorry you sent these to the cleaners. Glo - I'm glad I did - I don't know what you're up to… Paul's cell rings - it's Mikey - excuse me - I need to take this - when Mikey asks him to drop what he's doing to work on Ash's case - Paul reports he's already on it - nothing in John's car - but his clothes are on the way to lab to be tested - I'll let you know what I get - if anything. Gloria is arguing with John and Paul when Ash comes in - who that taking Dad's clothes to his car - what's going on here? Glo - your father and Paul are up to something - they won't tell me what. Ash sends her father and Gloria to the study - I need to talk to Paul alone for a minute. Ash rips Paul for helping her father - I thought this was my decision - I thought you were my friend. Paul - I am - I'm looking for evidence that will clear you. Ash - and send my father to his grave?

BIG TROUBLE: At the CL - while Daniel makes finally arrangements about his date with Colleen on the patio - they plan to meet outside the stage door at 9:15 this evening - Sierra and Devon are trying to slow Lily down in her hunt for Daniel - Devon warns that she'll be on the next flight back to NH if her parents find out about it - Lily counters with - only if you tell them - Sierra points out Devon took the heat from her parents the last time - it's better if he doesn't get involved - she suggests they make a plan so Lily won't get caught - Lily agrees it wouldn't be right to just stop by the Abbott's - Sierra catches her up - Daniel and his mother have their own apartment now - look - why don't I go see Daniel first - I can let him know what's been going on - Lily gets suspicious - why do I get the feeling you two are hiding something from me? They assure her nothing is - just then Lily sees Daniel - Baby, it's so incredible to see you. Dan - you have the nerve to say that? Lily - what's wrong? Dan - haven't you messed with me enough? Just stay away from me. Lily - Daniel, I don't understand - will you please stop this? Dan - just like you stopped - I'm out of here. Lily - wait - as she follows him out. Sierra - she's never going to talk to us again. CC - hi, guys - whoa - what's going on? Sierra and Devon spill the beans - Daniel doesn't know about the second letter - Lily is going to hate me for the rest of my life. Daniel comes busting in - what part of stay away from me don't you understand? Lily - thanks - you're showing me what a jerk you really are! Dan - know what - I wish I'd never met you. As Dan storms off - Devon comes over to comfort Lily - I'm sorry I didn't tell you about not giving Daniel your letter. Lily - don't worry about - it's probably for the best. Devon - does that mean you're not going to kill me? Lily - you were right - I don't want to hurt my parents - I'm glad you didn't give Daniel the letter. Guess who is watching!

DREAM ON: At the AC - Nikki is reading a file when Ashley comes over to say hello. Nikki - how are you? Ash - I couldn't be better. Nikki - that was stupid - I know things must be awful - but if anyone is strong enough to deal with this - it's you. Ash - thanks - but I'm counting on Michael's skill as an attorney more than my own stamina - believe me. Vikki comes over with refills - I'm surprised you're back. Ash - Brad and I are going over to the courthouse. Nikki - oh that's right. Ash - today our divorce is final - have either of you seen him? Vikki - no - sorry. Ash - there is something I should tell you - you'll know soon enough anyway. She goes on to fill them in about Leanna Love - it was a nightmare for both Brad and me. Both Nikki and Vikki react badly so Ash goes to the bar to wait for Brad. Nikki - do you see what you're signing on for? - it's not too late to rethink this. Vikki - I won't be, Mother - Brad and I are amazing together - he's an incredible man. Nikki - with an incredibly complicated life that isn't going to change anytime soon. Vikki - we're not going argue about this - you're right - I look at Brad with rose colored glasses - I'm going to spend the rest of my life with him - he's the man I've always wanted - I can handle his complicated life. Nikki - I am woman - hear me roar. Vikki - that's right - now you're getting it. Nikki - I surrender - from this moment on I won't say a negative thing about Brad - have you set a date? Vikki - six months from now will be August - you're going to have a dream wedding in your backyard - I love you ~kiss~

** Brad strolls in - I'm sorry I'm late. Ash - I'd about given up on you - where were you? Brad - I just had an unsettling conversation with Will Bardwell. He goes on to tell Ash what Will told him - we have to keep this from happening - I want to do what's best for Abby - I've already called my lawyer - there won't be any divorce today - we can take care of it when this is all over - what about Victoria? She'll understand - I'll have my lawyer call yours and bring him up to speed. Ash gives Brad a ~hug~ before she goes to check on her dad. Nikki comes over - you two looked pretty serious. Brad - do you know where Victoria is? Nikki - she was headed to the ranch - Brad splits before she can say another word.

** At the ranch - Vikki finds no one around - she sits down on the sofa - instead of getting to work - picks up a magazine about weddings and has a ~daydream~ about her own to Brad - as Brad slips the wedding ring on her finger she comes back to real time and looks at the rock on her finger. The doorbell rings - it's Brad - Vikki welcomes him with open arms - then Brad drops the bomb - I'm sorry - there won't be any divorce today.

STAYING TRUE TO COOL: Scare Bleu - it's still the same day in Genoa City, WI. On his way to the gym at AC - Nick comes up for a protein shake and runs into Phyllis - did you know I was here? Nick smiles - no, but it's always good to see you. Phyllis - I should get back to the office. Nick - are you going in this late? Phyllis - yes, I have a few things to wrap up - but I could be persuaded to stay if you want to sit down. Nick - I should go. Phyllis - have a good work out. Nick keeps looking at Phyllis - thanks. Phyllis - you'll attract less attention if you sit down. Nick - if I get flabby and out of shape I'm blaming you. Phyllis - you won't - I know how to burn off calories. Nick - careful. Phyllis - why? No one is listening. Nick - just to be safe - let's talk about something else. Phyllis - OK - when is Sharon going out of town again? I'm sorry - I didn't mean to say that. Nick smiles - I want to see you again. Phyllis - it's hard not touching each other. Nick - yeah - but I don't know when Sharon is going out of town. Phyllis - in the meantime - can't we get a room somewhere? Nick - know what I really want to do? Phyllis - what? Nick - I want to hold your hand. Phyllis - want to risk it? Phyllis puts out her hand - Nick takes it in his. A woman walks by - Phyllis quickly pulls her hand back.

** At the CL - with Daniel watching - Devon tells Lily he's sorry about Daniel's letter - Lily doesn't even want to hear his name - I do not want to talk about him. Just then - Dru and Neil walk in - she glares at Daniel & he takes off - they go over to say hi to Lily & Devon - Lily blows up - you're checking on me - Neil tells her to watch her mouth - Dru points out she hasn't given them much reason to trust her - Lily apologizes - then goes off to have a moment alone - bewildered parents ask Devon if she talked to Daniel - he answers 'sort of' - they don't like each other very much - they both said some strong things like they wished they never met - don't worry - Lily gave as much as she got.

** Daniel - hi, Mom - hi, Nick. Nick - hi, Daniel. Dan - I'm sorry - did I interrupt something? Nick - no, your mom was just filling me in about her new project. Phyllis - I was bringing Nick up to speed. Dan - I know how much that spa deal means to you - you can get pretty passionate when you want something. Phyllis - want something to eat? Dan - no thanks - but Nick I'm glad I ran into you - I was online and I saw an ad for a youth basketball camp - I thought of Noah right away - it's 2 weeks in July - they bring in coaches from all over the Midwest - and some professional players come in to see them. Nick - Noah would be all over that - thanks, Daniel. Daniel notices the Winters come in with Lily and Devon. Phyllis - are you OK? Dan - yeah - I saw Lily at the CL earlier. Phyllis - did you say anything to her? Dan - next question. Phyllis - I know this upsets you - I'm proud of you for being so strong. Dru and Neil have good news for Lily - because she's done so well at school - she may be able to stay at home if she wants. Lily is thrilled - now we really have something to celebrate - in addition to Devon's birthday of course. Daniel can't take anymore - I think I'll take off - it was good talking to you. Nick - thanks for that tip about camp - we'll talk about it later. Phyllis - keep your chin up. Dan - I'll try, Mom - bye for now. Phyllis - he's putting up a brave front - but he's dying inside. Nick - too bad we can't turn our brains off - then we could switch off the emotions we don't want. Phyllis - it would be nice - but then we wouldn't be living - would we? Nick - I'd better get to the gym. Phyllis - I'd better get to the office. Nick follows Phyllis out.

Neil gets a call from the office - he and Dru have to leave - Lily wants to stay for dessert - Devon offers to stay with her - with Daniel gone - Dru and Neil say okay - we'll see you at home later. Devon also has to leave - he forgot about a meeting - will you be OK? Lily - don't worry - I'll be fine. With Devon gone - and Phyllis and Nick leaving - Lily starts to put her coat on - her cell rings - she reads the message and heads for the founder's room - Daniel is waiting with a big ~kiss~

TERROR AND RESOLVE: At the Abbott's - Ashley is upset - why are you doing this, Paul? Paul - your father wants me to help him prove he shot Tom. Ash - I shot Tom Fisher. Paul - we both know that isn't true - your father remembers everything that happened - he doesn't want you or Abby sacrificing your future for something he did - it's not right. Ash - and sending my father to prison is? You should have talked to me before you agreed to this. Paul - if I hadn't taken the case he would have hired someone else. Ash - you betrayed me - it's that simple and you sentenced my father to death. Ash and Paul argue about who calls the shots - she doesn't want him to tell the police what he finds - he can't do that - if you don't drop the case you can forget about seeing me again - if I do drop the case I may never see you again anyway - you'll be in prison for the rest of your life. Just as Ash is telling Paul what he should do John comes out of his study. I'd like to talk to you alone for a few minutes.

Moments later Paul gets a call from Mikey wanting to see him and Paul wants to see him - I'm on my way. Ash rips her dad for confessing to the DA when he said he wouldn't - going to prison would kill you. John - seeing my daughter go to prison for something I did would - you've been lying to the police since the beginning. John uses a story about Ashley when she was three to point out what a caring person she is - always thinking of what she can do for others - being truthful is part of your beauty - and he talks her into going to see Bardwell with him - if we do this together he'll believe what I said.

** At Mikey's office - Lauren goes ballistic when Mikey says he has to tell the DA the truth - it's the only way I can protect Ashley - Will already has a strong case - if he can make it look drug related - she's cooked. Lauren is worried about what happens to Mikey - his career and their marriage - please tell me there's another way. Mikey - I wish there were - but I can't see it. Lauren - are you telling me you're giving up? Mikey - I owe this to Ashley. Lauren - don't destroy yourself - you are the smartest - cleverest man I've ever known. Mikey - that's how I got into this mess - I thought I could take this into my own hands - no one would get hurt but Tom - was I wrong - I dug myself a hole I can't get out of. Lauren wants to know what happens to Mikey if he does this. Mikey - I'll probably get disbarred - and with my record - I'm likely to go to prison. Lauren - OMG. Mikey - I messed up - I'm so sorry. Lauren - what if the DA doesn't believe you? Mikey - he will - I have nothing to gain by turning myself in. Lauren - but everything to lose. Mikey - oh, Sweetheart (as he ~hugs~ Lauren)

** Moments later - Paul storms in looking for bear - Mikey turns it around when Paul hasn't anything to report for sure - the tech did find a spot on John's coat - he thinks it may be blood - but it hasn't been tested yet - I'll just have to do what I can to protect Ashley - I'm going to tell Bardwell that Ashley didn't kill Tom - and that it was my idea to set him up - tell Lauren I couldn't wait any longer - with a good luck from Paul he's off to see the wizard.

**Outside Bardwell's door - Mikey pauses for a moment - then knocks - come in - what brings you here, Counselor? It better be good. Mikey - oh it is - you're going to love this. Will - I assume you want to talk plea bargain for your client - it's not in the cards. Mikey - I have a story to tell you about my client and me - it's all true - I'm not going to stand around and watch an innocent person go to prison. Will - Baldwin - if this is more of your dramatic lawyering… Mikey - Ashley and Tom were never making drugs - she wasn't involved with him - if you'll hear me out I'll tell you what happened the night Tom was arrested and why it happened… fade to the envelope in his pocket.

BRIDAL VEIL FALLS: At AC - Nikki thanks Victor for meeting her. Victor - I wouldn't miss a chance of meeting my beautiful wife - did something happen you want to talk about? Nikki - it's not about business - and I don't think you'll be happy to hear it - please tell me you'll keep an open mind. Victor - I'll try. Nikki - Victoria wants to set a wedding date. Victor - when are we talking about? Nikki - Brad & Ashley's divorce was final today - we're looking at the end of August. Victor - what are they thinking - Ashley is about to go on trial. Nikki - that's why Victoria has kept quiet about it. Victor - you're going along with this? Nikki - I am - I haven't seen her this happy since Ryan. Victor - you know as well as I do - Brad Carlton isn't the right man for our daughter. Nikki - she thinks he's perfect - how do we tell her she's wrong? Victor - we can't - if there were a way to erase that man from her life - I would.

** At the ranch - Brad has just told Victoria he wants to postpone their wedding - just for awhile. Stunned Vikki - I thought you said it was virtually a done deal. Brad - it was. Vikki - I don't get it - why are you doing this? Brad - Ashley is dealing with so much right now - she's about to go to trial - a divorce on top of everything else could hurt her case.
