CHANGE OF HEART?: It's still the same beautiful Spring morning in Genoa City, WI. At the ranch main house - Nick wants to know if his mom is sure she wants to help Victoria and him to regain control of NE. Nikki - yes. Nick - why the sudden change? Nikki - I tried to convince myself that what your father did was in the best interest of the family - but after our talk last night I realized taking back NE was all about his ego - controlling everyone and everything - Victor does what's best for Victor - now I have to do what's best for you and Victoria. Nick - if we make a move against Dad - things could get dicey - there is no pulling out once we start. Nikki - why would I do that? Nick - Mom, come on… Nikki - I thought long and hard before I made this decision - I don't want to force him out of a company he founded - he's my husband. Nick - I had to ask. Nikki - I don't see any viable alternative for us. Nick - we have to stick together to do this. Nikki - I won't back out - don't worry about that - if he has a problem - which he will - I'll use his own line - "hey, it's just business". Nick - as long as you're sure. Nikki - if you're looking for an ironclad guarantee - how do I know you won't get second thoughts? (to Nick who gave his dad up to the Feds?) Nick - trust me - I won't - so let's do it - Dad has left us no choice.

** At NE - COO Neil Winters is reporting to the 'chief' - as per your request we're not making a big splash about your being back at the helm of NE - everyone who needs to know now does. Victor - you got it (knocks) come in. Secretary hands Neil a document - excellent timing - thanks - I had this drafted to be inserted into corporate minutes - take a look. Victor - how are things going with Granville Global? Neil - I'm glad you asked - they are integrating their operation into our Technical Division predictably well. Victor - I had a feeling they'd be a good fit. Neil - you were right once again - what's next on the agenda? Victor - a little nuisance called Bradley Carlton.

** Brad ~hugging~ Sharon - hey, Nick will be all right - Nick and Victoria won't be down for long - anyway - it's just business - Sharon, there are more important things in life - what's going on? Sharon - I can't talk about it. Brad - sure you can - you can tell me anything - and I'll do anything I can to help. Sharon - there are some things I can't even share with you. Brad - whatever it is - it sounds… Sharon - know what - I'm fine now - how about Vikki - is she taking this hard? Brad - her father - whom she admires greatly - essentially said he has no faith in her. Sharon - that can't be easy. Brad - and I'm sure there will be other nasty surprises before it's all over. Sharon - will this affect your wedding? Brad - of course not. Sharon - that's wonderful. Brad's cell rings - sorry - Carlton - I need to see you - I'm in the middle of something, Victor - take care of it and come over - it will take me a few minutes - I have to cancel an appointment (flips his cell shut) I have to go - I just got my chain yanked - will you be OK? Sharon - I'll be fine - you're really a good friend - thank you.

Victor wants some advice from Brad - if you were in my position - what would you do with you? Brad thinks he's proved his value to company - I'd consider me an asset. Victor - for now I will too - but Neil will be taking over Global from now and I will be keeping a close eye on you.

Nikki and Nick walk into office - Sharon is there - have you seen Victoria? - no, but I did see Brad - I'm surprised you didn't tell about what was going on. Nick - I had other things to do. Nikki - what did Brad say? Sharon - that Victor took over at NE again - is there anything else I should know? Nikki - no, I just was wondering what he said. Sharon - I'm sorry - you did a good job as CEO. Nick - I'll survive. Sharon - Brad said you and Vikki were upset. Nick shrugs. Sharon - is that it? What are you going to do? Nick - like Mom said - try to sort things out. Sharon - I don't believe you. Nikki - Sharon - you don't have to be so mean. Sharon - Nick doesn't even tell me what's going on in his life anymore. Nikki - he just did. Sharon - I feel so included. Nikki - I'm sorry this is such a mess. Nick - it's not your fault. Nikki - I'm glad you didn't tell Sharon - we can't trust her to keep it to herself right now. Vikki blows in - Mom, I know this isn't easy for you - but it's the right thing to do - we should get Brad in here to let him know we're going forward. Nick - Sharon told me he was summoned to Dad's office. Vikki - what if Dad fired him? Nick - it doesn't matter - he has stock in the company. Nikki - are you sure? Nick - it's right here in the by-laws. Vikki - Dad can't know what we're doing until we're ready. Nikki - nothing - until we're ready to make our move. Victor comes in - what move is that? Needless to say - Nikki - Vikki and Nick are all stunned.

UNLIKELY ANGELS: Lily - your Aunt Gina is so generous - packing our lunches to-go for free - I can only imagine what they really cost. Daniel - it's funny - once you get a job you stop thinking about things in terms of money - it's more like 'how long will it take to make this?' Lily - tell me about it - I'll wait with you if you want. Daniel - grab a table and get started on your homework - you have that big test - remember? Lily - it's under control - we didn't have much private time last night. Daniel - talk about drama. Lily - I feel sorry for CC - I hope she's all right. Daniel - breaking up with JT was bad enough - now she has big issues with Brad and Victoria she has to deal with. Lily - we know what it's like to fight with family. Daniel - Victoria isn't family yet. Lily - that's true - I can't help but wonder if she'll ever be.

** At playhouse - CC slams screen door on Vikki - I have no interest in what you have to say. Vikki - I'm not leaving till you hear me out. CC - fine - but make it quick. Vikki - I know how hurt you must be finding out about JT. CC - gee thanks. Vikki - your father and I are getting married soon - we'll have to figure out a way to work through this. CC - how - with more lies on top of those you've already told me? Vikki - why on earth would I tell you - I made a mistake with JT - it was a one-night thing - it would have been the truth - but what would it have accomplished? CC - you're acting like you did my dad and me a favor. Vikki - that was my intention. CC - when you warned me about JT - was that for my best interest too? Vikki - no, it was for both of us and your father. CC - you don't care about him. Vikki - I wouldn't marry a man if I didn't love him deeply - even though I hurt your dad - he gotten past this - I hope you can too. CC - when we went shopping and you gave me that bracelet - I was touched - I started to think it would be fun to have you for a step mom - now I know it was just to get in good with me - it wasn't for real. Vikki - that day was for real - it opened my eyes to what I'd be missing if I didn't marry your father - kids and all. Vikki's cell rings. CC - take your call - we're done here. Vikki - Nicholas, what's up? Nick - I need to see you at the office right away. Vikki - I'm on my way. CC - don't let me keep you. Vikki - this is too much for one conversation - keep an open mind - it's important for all of us.

** Daniel takes in Victor's mail - sees Neil - Mr. Winters, you mail is on your desk. Neil - hey, wait - I want you to come with me - I can't, I have to deliver this stuff - do it later - I'm your boss. Daniel doesn't like being ordered around like a kid - tells that to Neil - who pulls him onto elevator - then talking like a Brit - Sir, may I ask you to join me? Daniel smiles - I'd be happy to come with you. They end up at Fenmore's - where Neil wants Lily to help select some proper clothes for Daniel to wear at NE - Neil gets into the act too - comes back with a couple of suits and shirts for them to check out - Daniel takes the bull by the horns - these are nice but I like what I'm wearing - Lily agrees - he does look nice, Dad - Neil checks out Daniel's tatter and worn shoes - at least let me replace those - go pick out a pair - that Daniel is willing to do - Lily and Neil have a little heart-to-heart while Daniel is gone - I doing this for you - I know, Daddy - I love you so - if Daniel does well - there could be a promotion - and soon - that would be great!

PICKING POCKETS?: As Mikey and Lauren come into AC for breakfast - they stop to say good morning to Kay and Jill. Kay - one question - how's it going with Mr. Gibson? Mikey - I'm glad you asked - Jack came up with a new strategy last night. Kay - for? Mikey - getting Mr. Gibson to go along with a settlement. Jill - isn't that off the table? Mikey - considering his emotional state it might have been a mistake dealing with the bereaved husband directly - so I talked to his lawyer alone. Kay - and? Mikey - Alana Stevenson is a practical-minded attorney - it was a good, constructive conservation. Kay - and? Mikey - I'm hopeful that this will all be behind us soon. Jill - wow. Kay wants to know if Jill feels Jack is doing a good job - we'd all do better if Jack wouldn't go off on his own - Kay will be doing something about that. Lauren doesn't understand Jack's new approach - picks at Mikey until he tells her - she sees it as going back to his old ways and wants him to pass the case on to another lawyer - Mikey points out he's on the case for his mother's sake too - he gets a call from Jack. Lauren - what's wrong? Mikey - things aren't going as planned - we'll have to talk later ~kiss~ Lauren - we will! Mikey is in such a hurry he can't talk - when I find out what's going on - I'll give you a call. Kay notices news story - I'm taking care of this right now - calls Jack.

** At Abbott's - Gloria points to story. Jack - "Dead Woman's Husband Says Jack Abbott Is Trying To Buy His Silence". Ash - I thought you told me… Jack - Michael told me his lawyer said Gibson was amenable to our offer - now he's going public himself - how did this happen? Ash - what does the article say? Jack - nothing. Kevin sprouted wings and is back - he gives his mother a look. Jack is fuming - we do everything we can to keep the lid on - we handle this guy with kid gloves - and look at what he does to us. Glo - you, Jack. Jack - thanks for pointing that out. Kev - I don't understand - I thought Mikey was… Glo - don't blame your brother - Gibson's lawyer was two-faced. Ash rips Jack for not checking information out. Jack - you're saying Paul Williams can't be trusted - hold on - Michael, we have a problem - tells him about news story - meet us at Jabot. Kev - I feel a vibe - what have you done… Glo - shh - not now. Ash keeps nagging at Jack - he wants to get to the office so they can handle emergency - Ash gives up - let's go. Glo wants Kevin to show her how scandal is playing on Internet - Jack is getting his - Glo is pleased - that's how it should be - last night while Michael was talking to Mr. Gibson's lawyer - I was talking to him - I tipped him off about what Jack was doing - he took it from there. Kev mentions seeing Mr. Abbott - he's worried about you - I should find out what's going on at Jabot - he'll want to know. Glo sends him off a happy camper - John cares about me!

** Jack is on the phone with reporter when Mikey walks in. Ash - did you read the article? Mikey - not yet. Ash implies that Mikey may know what's going on - something doesn't make sense. Jack starts barking orders - we need to nip this in the bud - I'll do reporters - Ash, TV - Mikey - insurance company. They are all busy - when Kay makes her call - I'm calling a board meeting right now, Jack. Kev call's his mom about meeting - she needs to know what's going on - bug it for me - I'll see what I can do - he plugs line into computer on Jack's desk - Glo starts hearing meeting at home… Glo - my boys do take good care of me.

WEDDING WOES: At AC in Genoa City, WI - Colleen has just asked Sharon for a huge favor - talk my dad out of marrying Victoria. Sharon - I can't - it's none of my business. CC - please, Sharon - if my dad goes through with this he'll be miserable. Sharon - do you know how inappropriate it would be for me to say anything like that to him? CC - how inappropriate is it to watch him make the biggest mistake in his life and not say anything to him? Sharon - obviously he doesn't think it's a mistake. CC - that's because Victoria is messing with his head - I know him - he doesn't love that woman. Sharon - let's pretend it's true - I know that it isn't - why would he be marrying her? CC - because women he wants - he can't have. Sharon - that's crazy - your father wouldn't do that. CC - he would if he's lonely and trying to get over someone. Sharon - and that is? CC - Ashley - I don't think my dad ever got over her. Sharon - did he say something? CC - no, but who else could it be? Brad - hi, Ladies - may I join you? Sharon - please do. CC - excuse me - I need some cream. Brad - when you get back we need to talk. Brad sits down - what were you and my daughter discussing - you looked pretty intense. Sharon - Colleen is upset about your wedding. Brad - that's putting it mildly - what did she say? Sharon - she doesn't think you're in love with Victoria. Brad - she'll grasp at anything to get me to call off this wedding - I'm glad she has someone like you to talk to - once she moves back home - we'll be able to work this out as a family. CC - I doubt it - you and Abby are my family - Victoria never will be. Sharon - I'm sorry - I have to go - Colleen, I hope you change your mind about the shower. Brad wants CC to move back home - she won't with Vikki there - what about Abby? - I'll visit - look - I don't want to cause trouble - but I don't think Victoria loves you like you love her. Brad tries to change CC's mind - she won't budge on Vikki - Brad notes they are both trying to see that the other doesn't get hurt - with one difference according to CC - I'm not in denial.

HOT SEAT: At Jabot - Kay wants to discuss how Mr. Gibson's lawsuit is being handled first. Jack - as I've told you - I've already countered Gibson's accusations - Jabot's side of story will hit the streets in next edition of the Chronicle (Jack sets his water glass next to his computer which is sending what is being said to Kevin's laptop at the Abbott's) I'm confident Mr. Gibson is just reacting emotionally. Jill - so you think he'll back off. Jack - I'd bet on it. Kay - so what's next? Jack - the man will realize he'd be a fool to turn down Jabot's more than generous settlement offer. Jill - if he doesn't - what then, Jack? (Glo - we're hearing every word - how did you do that? Kev - Jack's computer is set up to make phone calls - I called my computer without anyone noticing. Glo - we're eavesdropping on the whole meeting. Kev - better than that - I'm recording it) Kay - I don't understand why you feel so confident that this problem will just go away. Jill - you've been saying this since contaminated cream was discovered. Ash - things have gotten worse. Jack - not so - the minute DA declined to press criminal charges - momentum swung in our favor. Jill - we weren't exonerated. Kay - Bardwell said results were not conclusive - right? Ash - if there was no wrong doing - we'd never get charged. Jack - Emma's food poisoning strengthened our case - I thought Gibson would take our settlement. Kay - he didn't. Ash - question is why? Kay - what went on in that meeting? Jill - hold that - I need to check with my secretary. Jack - I'd like to finish this now. (Kevin yawns - this is boring. Glo - no matter what I do - Kay is still falling for Jack's bull - he shouldn't even be selling lemonade - much less running Jabot. Kev - let's listen) Ash - hot date? Jack - only in my dreams. Kay - let's stick to business here - you have no idea why Mr. Gibson went to the press. Jack - I wasn't at the meeting - Michael was. Kay - I questioned hiring him. Jack - he's the right man for our case. Kay - even when he must have said something offensive to Mr. Gibson? Ash - tell her, Jack. Kay - I hope you're not keeping something from me. Jack - here it is - I asked Paul to do a little digging - turns out Mr. Gibson wasn't telling the truth - he and Emma were about to sue the restaurant where she contracted food poisoning when her Glow Again reaction came along - I needed some leverage. Kay - did you think about how much worse this could be if this were to become public? I'm waiting. (Glo - listen to that - Jack, tie the rope around your neck and jump). Jack assures the ladies it would be made public - he sees it as sending their lawyer in prepared. Ladies rip him for that - be that as it may - we have to stick together to get though this - they all agree - but expect Jack to keep them informed about what is happening. (Glo sees it as a way to get Jack - wants Kevin to put a few of Jack's own words on the web - don't give up on your mother now. Later Kevin slips into CL - slips a CD into computer and sends it on its way).

RED FOREVER BLUE?: While sipping coffee at CL - Phyllis remembers that Nick said he was burying himself in work - she thought it was a good idea for them both - after awhile we'll stop thinking about each other - Nick grins - I'll never forget what happened between us . . Mikey bring her back to real time - hey, there's my second favorite redhead. Phyllis - hey, how's my second favorite counselor? Mikey - what's the problem? Phyllis - why do you think I have a problem? Mikey - look on your face tells me you do. Phyllis - that look means I'm overworked. Mikey - me too - nothing like a high profile case to gobble up a lawyers time. Phyllis - I saw that nasty piece in the paper - Jack must be furious. Mikey - yeah - he's meeting with Ashley, Jill and Katherine as we speak. Phyllis - why are you here? Mikey - Ash wanted me gone. Phyllis - interesting - I can't believe they'd say Jack tried to silence Gibson - can't you sue? Mikey - that's just what I need to do - strong arm the bereaved husband. Phyllis - Abbott's are lucky to have you on the case. Mikey - now that you're back at Jabot - there is something you can do. Phyllis - which is? Mikey - get our story out on the web. Phyllis - I'm already doing that. Mikey - I don't understand why you left NVP - you destroyed my dream of you running your own business, Phyllis - it's pretty complicated. Mikey - I'm new to this world - please tell me - it won't go anywhere if you do. Mikey's cell rings - stay calm - I'll be there ASAP . . Phyllis, you were about to tell me why you left NVP. Phyllis - I'm already having a bad day - talking about NVP would make it worse. Mikey - I think I can brighten your day - Lauren is pregnant. Phyllis - you're going to be a daddy - is that true? Mikey it is - give me a ~kiss~ already. Phyllis - wow - I'm so excited for you - it's good to know that some people get what they want. Mikey looks puzzled.

** At Fenmore's - Lauren sends customer off to try something on - comes over to check on JT - looking for something in particular? JT - I'm looking for a gift that will prove I'm not a jerk. Lauren - having girl trouble? JT - you could say that. Lauren - trying to soften her up with a gift? JT - no, I'm going to deal with this head on - that's what I want. Lauren - a key chain isn't very romantic. JT - trust me - it's perfect.

** Later at Fenmore's - Phyllis is shopping for a shower gift - Lauren sends off some happy shoppers - then tweaks Mikey about newspaper story - don't worry about it - Mr. Gibson was overcome with grief - why not when you're in the center of all this… Phyllis comes to rescue Mikey - Lauren, I was so happy to hear about the baby - congratulations ~hug~ between you two that baby is going to be the smartest and best dressed in town - BTW - I want this for Vikki's shower - would you mind dropping it off for me? Lauren - why? Sharon didn't RSVP - last I heard she was in Paris. Phyllis may just change her mind about going - I'll let you know - now I have to get to work.

** JT stop by playhouse to show CC how much he cares about her - she reminds him this isn't the first time he has cheated on her - JT is on the table - I'm sorry about it all - but it won't happen again - this is proof I'm telling you the truth - a key for your car? I can't go that far - I'm a better driver now and I love that car - we had so many good times in it - this will be even more fun - he gives her the key to the loft - come live with me - crashing here isn't right and you can't go home again. CC agrees to give JT a chance ~kiss~

FAMILY DIVIDED: Victor walks in on meeting his family is having - I asked you a question - what's going on? Nick - what makes you think something is going on? Vikki - are you telling us we no longer have a right to some privacy? Victor - when my children and my wife are having a conversations they don't want me to hear - I have a right to question that. Vikki - and we have a right to say it's none… Nikki - that's enough - I'll tell you - we've been discussing what a monster you've become. Victor - so you're calling me a monster because I want to protect the life blood of my family? Vikki and Nick try to put in their 2¢ - Victor sends them on their way - I want to talk to your mother alone - what did they say to turn you against me? Nikki - it wasn't them - it was you. Victor - what do you mean? Nikki - this is about respect, Victor - I haven't gotten much from you lately. Victor - how can you say that - I gave you the money for NVP. Nikki - you said I could run it - Phyllis and I were doing just fine until you came in with your financial clout. Victor - so what - I didn't take over. Nikki - no, but Phyllis is gone - and - I don't want Jabot products in our spas - you're doing it for Ashley. Victor - this is not about Ashley - we both own stock in Jabot - if they do well - we make money. Nikki - this isn't even the point - we agreed that you wouldn't play an active role in the company - I should have listened to Phyllis - she told me not to let you get your foot in the door at NVP and she was right. Victor - that damn company would have gotten no where without my guidance.
Nikki - maybe not - but it would still be mine. Victor - what does this have to do with our children? Nikki - it's just another example of you're doing what you want to do - to hell with everyone else. Victor - do me a favor and be reasonable. Nikki - I am being reasonable - this is crazy - one minute everything is fine - the next you're firing you own flesh and blood - it's not to late to fix this - it's outrageous - it's ridiculous. Victor - you know why I did it. Nikki - Victor, please - I'm begging you - do what's right and reinstate Nicholas and Victoria - now.

As Vikki gets off the elevator - tells her assistant to forget what her father said - I want that report as soon as it come in. Later Brad comes in with his story about CC - Vikki vents about her dad - I told CC what a great team we are - I'm sure she'll come around - Vikki wants him to prove it with a ~kiss~ That Brad can do - and does. ~kiss/kiss~

Nick catches Sharon - I didn't have time explain what's going on - you took off so fast. Sharon - what's to explain - you're picking a fight with your father - I hope it's worth it. Nick - we're just standing up for ourselves. Sharon - OK - I don't think this is the way to handle it. Nick - what do you suggest we do? Just stand here and take it? Sharon - as I see it - you're betraying your father again - don't you get tired of doing that? Nick doesn't want to give up - let's talk this out now. Sharon - I can't tonight - it's the anniversary of Cassie's death - before we lost her - we worked things out - after she died - you and Phyllis killed our marriage.

Nikki and Victor come to an impasse - she feels he is belittling her - he feels that she has betrayed him - I don't give a damn if it's my children or you - but if anyone crosses me - they'll have a high price to pay . . as he slams out.

As we pick up the show - at CL: Kevin - I'll do everything in my power to see that it doesn't happen. Gloria - I don't know anything about computers. Kev - don't sweat it. Glo - I am so proud of you - you're an amazing young man and very soon everyone at Jabot that matters is going to know that too.

** Meanwhile - Jack is with John in visiting room at prison. Jack - Dad, if we allow ourselves to be bullied - we lose - in public's eye if we don't fight back they'll have only one thing to think . . we're running scared. John - and you think that's a tacit admission of culpability. Jack - tacit? - I think this is a Good Year blimp at the Super Bowl with a banner 'Jabot did it' - they push - we push back - that's the only way to fight this thing. John - how - by defaming Mr. Gibson's character? Jack - how did we do that? John - come on… Jack - we went to opposing attorney and told him what we'd be willing to do if we're forced - I'm on record with the same reporter saying that Jabot wants to settle this fairly - we don't want to be a scapegoat. John sighs - best case scenario? Jack - Alana Stevenson recommends that her client take what he can while he can. John - worst case? Jack - they hang tough as long as we do and it goes to trial. John - any chance we'll lose? Jack - I don't think this will go to court if we use my strategy - I need you to go along with this, Dad.

** At CL - Kevin gives DA Bardwell a refill - thanks - isn't it Kevin? Ash - caffeine at night - you must be planning a late one. Kev - can I get you something? Ash - cappuccino to-go, please. Will - to-go? Ash - places to go people to see - what's your story? Will - my office was getting a little claustrophobic. Ash - more so than an elevator? Will laughs - join me for a minute? My sympathies - I saw the story this morning. Ash - I'm mystified about where those stories come from. Will - media is insatiable - it's hard to keep a secret. Ash - sometimes I think there's a malignant force out there working overtime to make us look bad. While Ash & Will are making small talk - he gets a cell call - looks like your brother is on the Internet (he goes over to computer to find website) is his picture up? Will - it's more like his voice. Ash reads - Jack Abbott, CEO of CI at Jabot board meeting that took place this morning. Will - was it a public meeting? Ash -no. Kevin is watching from the counter.

** Back at prison - Gloria is now with John - he mentions Jack was there - that must have been difficult - Jack was candid about the battle we're fighting - I want you to know I'll do… - let Jack handle this - you don't mean that - listen to me - if you're going to spout off about my son - I don't care to hear it - he's in charge - I trust him - that's the end of it - understand? Glo - with Jabot in a crises we can't be at odds - I'll do whatever Jack will let me do to support him - you can count on it.

** Paul comes by Abbott's - what does John say about this? Jack - I have Dad's OK to do whatever is needed. Paul - is that why you called me? Jack - I want all the dirt you can get me on the Gibsons - and I want it yesterday. Paul - Ash isn't onboard with this. Jack - she's not thinking clearly - it's my job to make it go away. Paul - we have pushed pretty hard - maybe we should see what Gibson's next move is. Jack - no disrespect - but I'm calling the shots - we need all the ammo we can get our hands on - if you're not up for that - I can get someone else - in or out, Paul. Paul is still trying to reason with Jack who wants all of this behind him - your side out there now - as soon as this hits the press - you may get your wish.

VICTORIA'S SHOWER: At AC - the party is in full swing. Phyllis - have you seen Nikki? Kay - she's in the kitchen with Gina - an issue about the cake. Jill is on her cell. Phyllis - OK - I really need to talk to her. Kay - how did it go with the reporter from 'The Chronicle'? Jill - I confirmed what Jack told him earlier - gave him my take on things and said he could quote me. Kay - I can't believe what I read - Jack condemned - on the front page of the paper. Jill - I know and all that he was trying to do was settle things quietly - it's ludicrous. Phyllis - you can manipulate anything and spin it. ** At NE - Brad walks into Victor's office - Victor looks up - we've already discussed your situation. Brad - you're keeping me on the payroll - but you reassigned the division I was running to Neil - hardly a vote of confidence. Victor - in other words - you're upset and want to resign. Brad - yes - on one condition - you give Victoria her job back. Victor - what about Nicholas? Brad - I'm here on Victoria's behalf. Victor - you're willing to sacrifice your career for my daughter? Brad - I love her, Victor - she's doing a hell of a job - I know how much running this company meant to her - I know how badly she wants that back - I don't want a free-for-all - it's no way to begin a marriage. Victor - a marriage that will give you a lot of advantages because you're marrying my daughter. Vikki looks up just as Lily and CC walk in - here she is now - hi you two - welcome. CC picks up Abby. Lily - my mom is sorry she couldn't make it - I brought her gift. With everyone seated - Gina passes Abby her gift. Vikki - where is Mom? Gina - she had to leave for a few minutes - she left your gift in her office. Kay - let's just go ahead - open something. Abby - do mine first (it's a horse like the one she made Victor) Phyllis - mine next. Sharon has a ~flash~ she sees Vikki pull out a sexy blue something - this is almost too hot. Phyllis - I almost bought one for myself - I know Nick would love to see me in it. Back in real time - Vikki is looking at pink box - Phyllis, I love this - thank you so much. Kay's is next - with the big red bow. It's a white robe (Sharon sees Nick and Phyllis at hotel in similar robes after sex). Just as CC gets up to leave - Brad comes in - I'm so happy you're here. Brad works the room - then leaves to let them do their thing - Sharon follows him out - while CC grosses to Lily about Vikki acting like she's a virgin. Sharon - did you tell Victor you'd resign? ** At NE - Victor is on the phone with his lawyer - talking about keeping control of his company - when Nikki stops by with Victoria's gift in hand - aren't you supposed to be at our daughter's bridal shower? Nikki - I'm stunned that you'd notice - you're so busy with your secret maneuvers. Victor - I'm shocked at your approval of this marriage. Nikki - I approve of our daughter - she's made her choice - and so have you. Victor - you bet.

** Back at shower - things are almost over - when Sharon sees Phyllis on her cell - she sees her talking to Nick - after one more gift from Lauren and a toast to the happy couple - Lauren leaves - Phyllis goes with her - at the very end - CC wants to toast the couple too - but says the wedding needs to be delayed until STD tests come back - the bride-to-be sleeps around - cheers. Needless to say - everyone is stunned.

** Outside at NE - Nikki puts gift in car - then walks around to get in from the driver's side - a man comes up behind her - give me those keys - Nikki screams - Victor comes up from behind to grab the carjacker - but his gun goes off - after taking the guy down - Victor rushes over to Nikki - she is down on the street - has blood on her back - oh my Sweetheart! Victor takes out his cell.

CARJACKER INTERRUPTED: It's an instant later in Genoa City, WI. Victor has just taken down a carjacker and is tending to Nikki - Sweetheart ~kiss~ I'm calling the paramedics right now - just hang in there - OK? . . hello, this is Victor Newman - my wife has been shot in the back - we're in the executive parking lot of Newman Towers - 7800 Melrose - please hurry. Nikki starts to groan. Victor - Sweetheart, please don't move. Nikki - Victor? Victor - just don't move - OK? Nikki - uh-huh. A few minutes later - an officer is collecting evidence - another officer is putting carjacker in police car - Victor is helping the paramedics get Nikki on gurney - how serious is this? Paramedic - we're not sure - but we have a trauma team standing by at the hospital. Officer - we need a statement, Mr. Newman. Victor - could we please wait until we get to the hospital? Officer - of course. Victor - what's happening with that fellow? Officer - we'll have to get him checked out - he got beat pretty bad. Victor - do you mind if I ride along? Paramedic - no, Sir - go ahead. Victor gets in - My Sweet Love - we're taking you to hospital - you'll be fine.

Dr Thorpe is waiting in Urgent Care when Paramedics and Victor roll Nikki in - she asks for an update. Paramedic - a bullet may have grazed Mrs. Newman's spine - she has some swelling down there. Victor - what does that mean? Dr - we won't know until we have a chance to examine her. Victor - Doctor, take good care of her. Dr - don't worry, Mr. Newman - she's in good hands. Victor walks over to pay phone - calls Vikki's cell just after her last guests have left - something has happened to your mother - I'm at Memorial - I want you to come over here right away. Vikki - I'm on my way.

Later - Victor is talking to Officer who needs a statement - he asks about carjacker - we have him in jail ward - he's in bad shape - please tell me what happened - Victor gives her a blow-by-blow. Officer is saying he saved his wife's life - just as Vikki comes in - gives her dad a ~hug~ for being there for her mother - Victor reports Nikki was shot in her back - I hope she'll be all right. It's not long after Victor's call to his son that Nick shows up - how's Mom? Victor - they are checking her now. Nick - what happened? (tape of Victor taking carjacker down and Nikki getting shot #1) Nick - where is he now? Victor - cops took him away. Nick - did you do a number on him? Victor - what do you think? Vikki is concerned about wound on his forehead - sends him off to have a doctor look at it.

Vikki - I was so angry at Dad. Nick - me too. Vikki - now I can't tell you how grateful I am for him - not just for Mom but for all of us. Nick thinks things are taking too long. Vikki - is that a bad sign? Nick - I don't know. Victor comes back. Nick - how did it go? Victor - not bad - not even a stitch. Brad arrives - gives Vikki a ~hug~ Victor, I'm sorry about Nikki. Victor - thanks. Brad - any update? Victor - no ... here comes the doctor now. Dr Thorpe - Mr. Newman, I have the results from your wife's x-rays - it appears that the bullet managed to pass through without damaging any major organs. Victor - that's good news. Dr - there is one area of concern - when the bullet passed through muscle attached to her vertebrae it caused substantial swelling - it might be a problem later - but I'm here to say your wife needs surgery immediately. As they roll Nikki to surgery - they make sure she knows that they are all there for her - but needless to say - they all look worried.

BRIDAL SHOWER: At AC - no one could stop CC from making her 'postpone the wedding until STD results are in' toast - after she says 'cheers' - Brad steps in - it seems that my daughter has a new found sense of humor - only it's not very funny. Vikki - you've managed to find an argument against our getting married that even my father hasn't - congratulations. Lily - come on, Colleen. Brad - young lady, stop right there (Sharon puts down her glass and leaves). I don't know what the hell you were thinking - but you're going to apologize to Victoria right now. CC - I can't. Brad - what? CC - it's true - it's time you realize what kind of woman she is. Brad glares at CC - what you did was wrong - it was rude and immature - you should never do something like that to anyone - I shouldn't have to explain that to you. CC - Dad… Brad - no excuses - an apology is all I want to hear from you - understand? CC nods. Brad - everyone - my daughter would like to say something. CC - I'm sorry I made a scene - I got carried away. Brad - don't you have something to say to Victoria? CC - Victoria, I'm sorry for what I said - I don't know what I was thinking - none of it was true. Vikki - no, it's not true - but I suppose that's OK - I wanted my bridal shower to be memorable - thanks to you it has been. Brad checks on Vikki - I'm fine - it's over - let's not dwell on it. Kay is worried about Nikki - maybe it's good she's not here. Lily rips CC - what you did wasn't right - if you keep pushing like this - you'll regret it. Brad comes to get CC - we're going home. CC - Dad… Brad - now! Vikki is making the rounds - thanks folks for coming and for gifts - Brad and I are lucky to have friends like you.

** At outhouse - Nick asks if Sharon had a good time at Vikki's shower. Sharon - yeah - my favorite person in the world was there - Phyllis. Nick - what? Sharon - don't act so surprised - she got an invitation - think she'd give a damn about my feelings and not show up - that would be a first. Nick - I'm sure she wasn't there to make things difficult for you. Sharon - why would your mistress do that? - She fit in well with Brad's daughter. Nick - meaning what? Sharon - your father isn't only one dead set against this marriage - Colleen delivered a touching toast to Vikki's one night stand with JT. Nick - that's awful. Sharon - it is - but if she'd exercised a little self control - but it seems like you and your sister are incapable of that.

Nick is finishing a business call when Sharon comes down after checking on Noah. Nick - I'm sorry you had a lousy time at the shower. Sharon - do you have any idea what seeing Phyllis does to me? Nick - you're bound to run into her. Sharon - this was a family event - she shouldn't have been there. This leads to a knock down fight between them - Nick says he can't do it anymore - Sharon says she can't either - I want a separation - no, you said you'd give me another chance - how can I when I can't stop thinking about Phyllis? - you're the one who wants out - so don't blame me. Noah - Mom! Dad! I want you to stop fighting. Nick - your mom and I are having a disagreement. Noah - about what and don't say grownup stuff. Sharon - it was something that happened at Vikki's shower. Nick's cell rings - Victor tells him about Nikki - your sister is already here. Nick - Buddy, I need to talk to your mom - and it is grownup stuff - OK? Nick tells Sharon about Nikki being shot - thinks Sharon should stay with Noah to keep him out of hospital - what should I tell him? - nothing until I know more - I'll call when I do. To keep Noah busy - Sharon suggests they go to stable for a horse ride. Sharon notices Noah is quiet - is it because you thought we were fighting? Noah - I was there a long time before I came out - are you and Dad getting a divorce? Sharon - I'm sorry you heard that - sometimes when people are angry they say things the don't mean - but I want to be honest with you - your father and I will be living apart for awhile. Noah wants them all to live together - Sharon is sorry - it can't be like that for now.

** At the Carlton's - Brad lays it on the line for CC - I've never been so disappointed in you - I raised you better than that - what you did to Victoria was just plain cruel. CC - I stand by what I said - you need to be careful. Brad - I don't need my daughter telling me what I should or should not do. He goes on to point out she's a hypocrite - you forgave JT - why not Victoria too? CC thinks they are different situations. Brad tells her to get over it - we'll all be living under one roof. Before they can finish - Brad gets call from Vikki at Memorial - he tells CC he has something to take care of - but wants her there when he gets home. Does CC listen? - not on your life - she pulls out her packed bags as soon as Brad leaves - then leaves too.

Later CC shows up at loft - I hope you don't mind me taking you up on your offer. JT - welcome home. CC - are you sure you still want to do this? JT - I wouldn't have suggested it if I wasn't. CC - there is something you should know - my dad is mad at me for something that happened at Victoria's shower - I made a toast to postponing their wedding until STD results get back because of her night with you. JT is stunned - I didn't cheat on you - Vikki didn't cheat on your dad - Mac is the only one who got hurt - she's dealing with it a hell of lot better than you are right now. CC thinks he'll want her gone - you have to live somewhere - which room do you want.

NEW WOES AT JABOT: "LeAnna Love's Lowdown" is on computer showing Jack Abbott exclusive . . "why are you all being so wimpy? you read the papers - people try to scam big companies all the time - it's all about money - Andrew Gibson is trying to see how much his wife's death is worth." Jack - turn it off! Ash - you sound even more heartless than you did in the actual meeting. Jack - I wasn't trying to be ugly - whoever did that twisted my words - they were taken out of context. Ash - whatever the case - you couldn't have sounded like a bigger jerk. Jack - I want to know how a recording of an executive committee meeting could end up posted on the internet. Mikey - do you record these? Jack - never! Mikey - there's a bug in the boardroom. Ash - who would do that? Jack - someone who wanted Jabot to look bad - Gibson and his sleazy attorney. Later - Mikey is on the phone with LeAnna - JT is checking boardroom for bugs - Mikey reports LeAnna is having webmaster take down post - Jack is encouraged - we may be able to contain this - JT dashes his hope - once it was posted it's all over - Ash realizes that when anyone does a Jabot search - this will come up - Mikey will get them to take it down too - Ash doesn't see the point - damage has been done - Jack asks JT how this could have happened - JT doesn't know - room is clean - Jack doesn't understand - how could this happen then? - JT points out person wouldn't have to be in building - equipment is expense - Jack wonders if they could track it - JT sees one problem - we'd need a lead - person bright enough to do this - Ash chimes in - wouldn't leave any evidence behind - Jack thinks he knows who did this - Mikey points out he doesn't have any proof - Ash stops them cold - I think I know how this happened - you were talking to reporter from your computer - did you leave it on? Jack checks with Stan - that wasn't it. Ash - back to square one. JT - I'll talk to Paul - he might come up with something. Ash - keep in touch - OK? Mikey mentions talking to Kevin. Jack stops that cold - we don't need him in this. Kay and Jill march in - after call from a reporter Jack wants to take Gibson on - Kay makes it clear she wants nothing more done for now - that's an order, Jack.

** Later at AC bar - Jack wants to know if there is anything they can do about Gibson and the recording. Mikey - if we could prove it - it might help us in court. Jack - that's a pretty big 'if'. Mikey - look - I'll draft a release for media stating the recording was obtained illegally and that only part of the material was used. Jack - I guess that's better than nothing. When Mikey leaves a reporter comes over - plops her tape recorder on the counter and starts asking Jack questions. Jack can't shut up - I was wrong to say Gibson was milking his wife's death - the truth is much worse. He goes on to say Gibson was drunk the night his wife got food poisoning - if he'd gotten her to ER sooner - it may have saved her life.

Victor - good morning, my Sweetheart. Nikki mumbles - hey, good morning. Dr Ryan - hello, Mrs. Newman - do you know where you are? Nikki - uh . . I'm in the hospital. Victor - that's right - you had surgery last night. Dr Ryan - we alleviated the pressure on your spine. Nikki - did it work?

** In waiting room - Brad wakens his Sleeping Beauty with a ~kiss~ and the smell of fresh coffee. Vikki - you're the best - is Mom awake yet? Brad - they wouldn't tell me anything at the desk - coffee, Nick? Nick - thanks. Brad - where's Victor? Nick - he's in with Mom. Vikki - I hope the surgery was successful. Nick - Sis, she's going to be all right - hang on to that. Sharon rushes in - how is she doing? Nick - no word yet. Sharon - I brought some egg sandwiches and some pastries. Nick - Vik. Brad - I'll take that. Vikki - thanks, Sharon - maybe later. Nick - I'm glad you're here. Sharon - I'm still part of this family, Nick. Vikki is on her cell - cancel, I can't make it… Brad is looking at paper. Sharon - Noah was happy to get back to school - forgot his backpack and I had to chase the bus down. Nick - he said he's writing a report about his trip. Sharon - did he tell you what impressed him about Paris? Noah - yeah - people there actually eat frog legs and snails. Vikki - I'll call you back. Brad - every day headlines get worse about Jabot. Vikki - press is sure gunning for them. Brad - Jack should keep his big mouth shut.

Victor strolls out. Vikki - how's Mom? Victor - she's in pretty good spirits - doctor is examining her now. Nick - how did surgery go? Victor - very well - pressure on her spine was alleviated and she's on anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce the swelling further - we‘re lucky - no other damage is apparent - maybe some good will come with this - you're mother wants us to pull together.

While they wait for doctor to finish with Nikki - everyone gets busy - Vikki gets someone to take care of NVP - Paloma will take care of press. With Nick on the phone - Brad checks with Sharon - are you OK? Sharon - I feel better now that I know Nikki will get through this. Vikki is now hungry - takes Brad outside to eat - he suggests they postpone wedding until Nikki is better. Nick realizes that Sharon is thinking about being in the same waiting room last year when they lost Cassie - he gives her a ~hug~ to help her through a bad time. Victor goes in to check on Nikki - finds Dr Ryan explaining what will happen next - you'll be in a wheelchair until the swelling is all gone - and we'll help you with the pain. Nikki is concerned about that. Doctor assures her they'll find something that works and won't be addictive - for now he wants her to rest. Victor - we'll all be here with her. Victor has some good news - carjacker confessed - no trial is needed - kids want to see you. Nikki - wait - I know we haven't been very nice to each other - but when I heard your voice - I knew you'd take care of me - I love you so much. Victor - I love you too. Nick and Vikki come in to talk to their mom - lighthearted exchange about what she'd do to get out of going to work - Nick mentions food Sharon brought - say thanks for me - she's here - tell her yourself - with you? - Nick nods - I'm glad - then Vikki gives her report about shower and CC's rude remarks - Brad made her apologize - BTW - we want to postpone our wedding until you can be there - Nikki won't hear of it - if you have to carry me in - I'll be there.

In waiting room - Victor and Sharon are talking - it's like Cassie was here to take care of Nikki - like a guardian angel - Noah calls Cassie his guardian angel too. Nick and Vikki come out with news about how well Nikki is doing - she will getting out of here sometime today. Vikki gives Brad the good news about their wedding - then they head outside. Victor goes off to check with physical therapist. That leaves Nick with Sharon - he thinks they should tell Noah something - Sharon has to admit she already did - Nick is upset - we should have done that together - what did you tell him - the truth - I said we wouldn't be living together for awhile - but that we'd see you everyday - Nick blows up - I don't care if you shut me out of your life - but I will not let you shut me out of my son's.

** Victor and Nikki have moment by themselves - when I saw that gun - I realized how much I love you - I would have walked through a wall to save you - let's not ever talk about business again. Nikki - yeah - we should have learned our lesson by now - I love you. Victor - I love so much too.

PULLING A PHYLLIS: At Jabot - Jack is looking at morning paper - a carjacking - Good Lord! Ash - at Newman's - that's what threw me. Jack - where were security people? Ash - I tried calling hospital - they wouldn't put me through. Jack picks up phone to get hospital number. Ash - Ronda is on it - she'll call when she hears something - I'm concerned about Nikki too - but we have our own problems. (she holds up business page with banner headline about Jack) Jack - I saw that - 'Real Face of Jabot' - must be a slow news day. Ash - why did you say anything? Jack - Andrew Gibson is an alcoholic - I've been sitting on that for days. Ash - you should have kept your mouth shut! Jack - I thought the truth would help us. Phyllis comes in - see the headline? Jack - yeah - you're just in time - it's jump all over Jack day. Phyllis - congratulations. Jack - for what? Phyllis - we're kindred spirits - you pulled a 'Phyllis'. Jack - meaning? Phyllis - being impulsive - acting before you think. Jack - I'm tired of tiptoeing around Gibson - he can talk to reporters - why the hell can't I? Ash - because you have to be smarter. Both Kay and Jill go after Jack - we look bad doing this - the man just lost his wife. CC comes in - I just heard - is there anything I can do? Jack - you're just being here is enough. As Kay and CC exchange greetings - Jack sees that something is wrong - what is it? CC - you're not the only one who said something stupid. As things get busy again - CC wants to talk to her favorite Aunt for a few minutes. Ash want to know how she can help. CC spills the beans about Vikki - my dad can't marry her - she's so wrong for him. Ash is the voice of reason - this is your father's decision to make - think about all he has done for you - he'd be so hurt if you didn't go along with his choice and be at his wedding - I hope you change your mind. CC - after talking to you - I can see I was wrong - I'll go - thank you ~hug~ By the time Ash gets back with the team - things have gone from bad to worse - Gibson's lawyer has called for a nationwide boycott of all Jabot products - Phyllis finds site on the web - Kay makes her move - hires a NY PR person to tell them how to handle situation - and she warns Jack - I want you to do exactly what she tells us to do.

** Jack is moaning about taking orders from a New York hot shot - Phyllis is with Kay on this one - I know how hard it is get out of silly things I've done - like what? - conversation Lily overheard - when I dressed up like a man - all the crazy things I've done for love - you've been there for me - now I'll be here for you - I won't walk away no matter how this turns out. Jack - what do you know - today might not be so bad after all.

HARDHEADED HANNAHS: At downtown loft over cereal - CC admits JT was right - I shouldn't have said what I did about Vikki in front of people. JT - it was pretty lame. CC - I'll just have to find another way to stop the wedding. JT - deal with it - she's marrying your father. CC - that's what you think. JT - she bought you a dress - right? CC - yes. JT - so put it on - go to ceremony and get over it. Later CC comes home to tell JT she'll be going to the wedding - and get ready - you'll be coming with me.

** At playhouse - Dru drops by to rip Lily about her grades - "C's" and "D's" won't get you into Spelman or any other good college. Lily - come on, Mom. Dru - is this the way you want to live - in this fantasy shack with a numskull like Daniel? You can't be serious - you're throwing your whole future away. Lily - it may not be what you want - but it's my future. Dru - it's not too late - we can get your marriage annulled - then you can come home. Lily - no, Mom - I love Daniel! Dru - you just married that boy to prove you could be together - you made your point - is this really what you want - throwing your future away playing house? ** At NE - Daniel runs into Neil - gives him his mail and thanks him again for the shoes. When Daniel gives him his mail - he mentions how great it is for Neil to be heading Granville Global - they have a sweet new storage system - I read about it in this magazine - that's OK - isn't. Neil tells him about opportunities at NE and business major at GCU - Daniel is interested - will check it out. On his break - Daniel calls Lily - she sounds down - I explain it in my e-mail - what e-mail - I didn't get one - Lily realizes she sent it to her dad - you've got to delete it for me - my dad can't read it - Daniel tries to help but he needs a password to get into Neil's computer - none that Lily suggests will work - break his computer - Daniel points out Neil will still get it - Lily tells Daniel to keep her dad busy - I'm on my way.

** Dru and Neil meet in the hall - he knows she went to see Lily - I saw her grades last night - she starts to bad mouth Daniel - he didn't do this - Lily is responsible for her own grades - are you siding with Daniel now? - not at all - but we should talk about this at home - Dru agrees - see you later.

** When Neil walks into this office - Daniel is still at his computer - Daniel tries to calm him down - Lily sent you an e-mail by mistake - please don't read it. That gets Neil curious - let's just see if it's here - I'm so PO'd at Mom for judging us - she acts like I'm a criminal for getting 'C's' when she's the one who scammed Dad by lying about Malcolm and everything else. Just then - Lily comes in - may I talk to my daughter alone, please. With Daniel gone - Neil asks Lily what the e-mail means.
