JUST FRIENDS?: It's the next morning in Genoa City, WI - at Newman Towers Nick is on his cell - yes, can you tell me if order I placed will arrive in New York this morning? . . perfect, thank you.

** In New York at Ashford Baron - Sharon is still in bed as Brad (in white terry robe) rolls in breakfast cart - hey, wake up Sleepyhead. Sharon - mmm - you let me sleep. Brad - you looked so peaceful - I didn't want to wake you. Sharon - coffee? Brad - and OJ, omelets and croissants. Sharon - you ordered breakfast. Brad - I figured I owed you. Sharon - for what? Brad - for last night. Sharon - humm. Brad - you sprang for dinner. Sharon laughs - OK - last night was great. Brad - it was - that was a damn fine steak. Sharon - you ordered my favorite breakfast. Brad - Denver omelet - no cheese - tomatoes instead of potatoes. Sharon - how did you know? Brad - I remember what you ordered in St Louis - I hope this doesn't complicate things too much. Sharon - shouldn't - I've been thinking about it since our last trip. Brad - me too. Sharon - was it worth my paying off the pilot? Brad - fog in June - that was you're doing! Sharon - for first time since I found out about Nick and Phyllis - I'm happy. Brad - you look happy. Sharon - what about you - are we still friends? Brad - what happened last night doesn't change anything - it stays here. After looking at situation - they agree it was meant to be - and they have time for another go round. They are still in bed with Vikki calls - Brad lays it on thick - I can't wait until I see you again. Later they are dressed and ready to go - Sharon gets red roses - thinks they are from Brad but they're not - note wishes Sharon good luck in show - from Noah and Nick - he sure is trying hard.

** Back at NE - Vikki is rescheduling Brad's appointment in Boston - he'll confirm when he gets there - thanks. Nick - have you heard from your husband? Vikki - not since last night. Nick - he should be up by now - it's an hour later in NY. Vikki - have you read that prospectus from Dimitri? Nick - virtual-cell biology thing - I'm more interested in tech-consultant company that Brad is looking at. Vikki is thinking about board meeting - Brad should be here when we vote to slate him in. Nick - we wanted him on board to help us fight Dad - now I don't think it's a good move for NE or you. Vikki - still holding a grudge? Nick - absolutely not. Vikki - I thought men were supposed to bond after a fist fight. Nick - only in movies - look - we all work together - we can't let our personal lives affect the business - no need to rush Brad to NE board. Vikki - you were all for it! Nick - that was then - he already owns NE stock - where else is there for him to go? Vikki - he won't oust his own wife - we work incredibly well together. Nick - then why change it? Vikki - you're upset because Brad got on your case about Sharon - they're friends - what did you expect?

MEDICAL MYSTERIES: At Abbott's - Gloria has just learned John can have visitors again and shares good news with Jack. Jack - great, I'll go see him today. Glo - I'm worried sick about him - do you mind if I see him first? Jack - fair enough - I know you make Dad very happy - give him our best - tell him I'll call him later. Glo - I hope he's better this morning. Jack - just remember Dr Campbell said it may take a few days for his memory problems to go away - that's if drug interaction was the cause. Glo - he said nothing else was wrong with John - it was the cause. Jack - Doctor said he'd alter Dad's prescriptions and keep an eye on him for a few days. Glo - how could that prison doctor be so irresponsible? - it's criminal - I have half a mind to sue that prison. Jack - please don't make Dad's life any harder. Glo - I know he'll be just fine - I just wish there was a way to bring him home where he belongs.

** At doctor's office - with Lauren pacing nervously - Mikey is on his cell with Gloria - we'll talk about this later - give John our best. Lauren - how is John doing? Mikey - Gloria is on her way to see him now - Sweetheart, this will be OK. Lauren - if I could relax - where is the doctor? - I've to get to the store. Mikey - they can survive without you for a few hours. Lauren - I just want Dr Thompson to tell us everything is all right. Mikey - everything is gonna be fine ~kiss~ Nora - good morning - I have your test results - alpha fetoprotein is a substance produced by babies during pregnancy - tests indicate you have an abnormally high level of AFP in your bloodstream. Lauren - what does that mean? Nora - your baby is probably fine - a positive blood test doesn't mean anything is wrong - it only indicates there is an increased risk of certain types of birth defects. Mikey - what are we talking about? Nora - 90% of women deliver healthy babies. Mikey - 9 in 10 is good. Nora - I want to schedule you for an amniocentesis - in the meantime… Lauren - I want another AFP test - this could be wrong. Nora - we always duplicate a positive test. Lauren - I want another test - let's draw some blood. Mikey - we'll talk about this at home - thank you, Doctor. Nora - please try not to worry - the odds are in your favor.

** At prison Glo is stunned to see John's eye - it looks worse than it is - I started a fight - a guy changed the channel - why would I do that? Glo - it's not your fault - it's the medicine your taking. John - doctor said it would take time to recover. Glo - you're already better - you know who I am. John - of course I do - am I really going to be all right - tell me the truth. Glo - you'll be just fine - I miss you so much at home - but I'm here to look after you. John - whole prison knows that - when you took on the warden - that got around - enough about me - how are you doing? Glo - I do have some good news - I'm going to be a grandma and you'll be a grandpa too. John - Lauren and Michael? Please tell them how happy I am for them and all of us - a new baby - I'll be home for you both - just wait and see ~hug~

** Mikey and Lauren talk things over - he assures Lauren she didn't do anything wrong - our baby will be the most loved baby in the world - she tries to calm down - and goes off to rest. Glo blows in - we have to get John out of there. Mikey wants her to quiet down - Lauren is resting - he goes on to tell his mother what they are facing and how scared they are. Glo - I thought Fisher family curse died with Tom. Mikey - don't go there. Lauren - did someone come in? Glo - Mikey just told me - don't worry - your baby is going to be just fine.

FIVE SIDES OF A COIN: At AC - Phyllis and Carmen are having their meeting over breakfast when Daniel and Lily stop by to say good morning - Daniel is dropping of a graduation ticket for Aunt Gina. Phyllis introduces her son and his wife to Carmen Mesta who is working for NVP. Daniel - that's cool (as he shakes her hand) Carmen - I heard your speech last night at benefit - very moving. Daniel - thanks. Phyllis - are you excited about graduation? Daniel - it's no big deal. Lily - I see my dad. Daniel - I'll wait for you right here ~kiss~ good luck, Baby. Phyllis - bye. Lily - nice to meet you. Carmen - nice meeting you too. Phyllis - what's wrong with Lily? Daniel - Lily flunked physics - she won't be graduating tomorrow. Phyllis - I'm so sorry - she must be disappointed.

** Lily - hi, Daddy. Neil - good morning, Princess ~kiss~ let's sit down - I've been having some heart-to-heart talks with your brother - then I realized we haven't had a chance to talk. Lily - is this about you and Mom? Neil - no - it's about your graduation, Princess - I hope you'll allow me to give you a little advice. Lily smiles. Neil - first off, I love you very deeply - secondly, I'm extremely proud of you - in spite of all the distractions - you've made it. Lily - I don't even know how to tell you this, Daddy - um - I'm not graduating. Neil - I was afraid something like this would happen. Lily - don't be mad at me - I'm going to summer school - I will get my diploma. Neil - I'm not mad - it's about your future - your goals will change as you get older - does your mother know? Lily - not yet - I just found out last night. Daniel - hi, Mr. Winters. Neil - hello, Daniel. Lily - I told him. Daniel - she'll make it up in summer school. Lily - I'll be there tomorrow for Daniel and Devon. Neil - yeah - Devon will appreciate that. Lily - will Mom be there? Neil - of course she will - why did you ask? Daniel - I'm getting some juice - want something? Lily - no thanks - Mom's going on a trip -right? Neil - yes - I'm glad you're talking to your mother. Lily - Devon told me - he's freaked about Mom leaving - he thinks you're breaking up. Neil - I told him not to worry about it. Lily - when is Mom coming back? Neil - I don't know for sure. Lily - Daddy, tell me the truth - are you splitting up?

** Not much later - Lily talks to her mom - first about trip - Dru assures her that Genoa City is her home - then about graduation - Dru is disappointed but has faith that Lily will take care of credits this summer - she ~hugs~ her daughter.

** Carmen - I've been working on bios for you and Nikki for press kit. Phyllis - great (she stops waiter - decaf please) Carmen - I'm curious… Phyllis - about why I went from web designer to Nikki's partner - right? Carmen - actually I'm wondering why you keep bouncing between NE - NVP and Jabot. Phyllis - I left NVP to help Jabot during their crisis - when it was over I went back to my dream job. Carmen - that was your plan? Phyllis - I'm a partner at NVP - I have a lot more to do. Carmen - you left Jabot just after Jack did. Phyllis - I did - why all the questions? Carmen - when I take on a new assignment I look at personal dynamics - I'm sorry if I've overstepped my bounds. Phyllis - Jack and I … it's complicated. Jack - what is? Phyllis - our marriage didn't last - but we're still friends - if he needs anything from me all he has to is ask. Jack owes Carmen an apology - asks her out to dinner - she says yes - Carmen has to take a call - Jack notices Phyllis' oatmeal - I thought you hated it - I love it - that must have been another wife. Daniel comes by to give Jack a ticket to his graduation - thank you, I'll be there. As Jack puts ticket in his pocket - he sees Nick - Lover Boy - are you looking for Phyllis? Phyllis - Jack, please don't do this. But Jack can't stop - he even mentions that Victor offered him NVP job first - they don't believe him - he assures them it's true - Jack tweaks Nick for protecting his former mistress - I wonder what Sharon would think?

CODA: Vikki finds a love note from Brad - he says all the right things - I can't wait to see you again! In NY - Sharon is smelling red rose. Brad can't reach Vikki on his cell so he calls Nick - please tell Victoria I'm leaving for Boston now - he also tells Nick he had dinner with Sharon and worked on her presentation - Nick hopes he'll be back in time for board meeting - we haven't had anyone new for a time - it should be interesting. Brad - I'll see you then.

BEYOND ALL EXPECTATIONS?: It's the same day in Genoa City, WI that started this morning in NYC. Brad walks into office at NE - Honey, I'm home! Vikki - hey you - hello ~hug~ I wasn't expecting you until later tonight. Brad - meeting was at a hotel near airport so I didn't have to drive into Boston. Vikki - I take it things went smoothly. Brad - I'd say they're ready to come under Newman umbrella. Nick (working at desk) - for our price? Brad - some things need to be hammered out - but I think we'll all be happy. Vikki - you're my hero - I figured you'd roll in about midnight. Brad - I hope you're not disappointed I came home early. Vikki - I think I can deal with it. Nick questions the bid. Brad - it was high enough to avoid a bidding war. Vikki - we'll be in a better position to ask for concessions before we finalize… Sharon - I hope I'm not interrupting… Vikki - no, come in. Sharon - Nick, I didn't know you were here. Nick - welcome home. Brad - how did your speech go? Sharon - fine - lot of Q&A afterwards. Nick - good sign people were listening. Victor - don't any of you have homes? Vikki - our world travelers were filling us in. Victor gives Sharon a ~kiss~ I'm happy to see you back and Bradley I'm glad you'll be joining us tomorrow. Brad - I'm looking forward to it. Victor - we'll get process on the way to make you a director of NE. Sharon takes a call . . you were saying something about Noah? Nick - just that Noah and I had a great time together and he really missed his mom. Sharon - Noah knew I had to go on this trip - right? Nick - he was cool with it - so was I. Sharon - your flowers arrived this morning - thank you. Nick - I'm glad you liked them. Sharon - go ahead - I'm waiting. Nick - for what? Sharon - for you to ask about Brad - you know I was in NY with him. Nick - you two ended up in same place - what more is there to say?

At the same time - Vikki is telling Brad about fine art brokerage her father wants her to run - it's more than the job - my dad has faith in me. Brad - in both of us. Vikki - you should have seen what Nick went through to get his board seat. Brad - maybe that's why he went sour on me. Vikki - we can't worry about him - I have it all, Brad - when I was young this is exactly how I wanted my life to be. ~hug/kiss~ from Brad. Brad comes into break room for some coffee. Nick - if I didn't say it before - nice work in Boston. Brad - we'll probably get green light tomorrow - see you then. Nick - are you going to give me the rest? Brad - about what? Nick - what happened in NYC? Brad plays it off - I told you on the phone this morning. Nick - thanks for helping her. Brad - I'm glad I was there to help - now I'm going home to my wife.

** When Nick gets home - Sharon is picking up games - where is Noah? - getting ready for bed - he was up late last night - Nick was hoping they could spend sometime together - but Sharon has work to finish - and goes up to her room to do just that - much to Nick's dismay.

WHERE THERE'S SMOKE: At downtown loft - JT is on his cell with Paul - Brad Carlton or whoever he is - has a past - we just haven't found it yet - no, I don't accept that - you can't wipe out every trace of a person unless they're CIA or one of those special forces guys on 'The Unit' - listen - I'm going to keep looking - if there's a way to find out - I'll track it down - all right (clicks off cell). CC comes in with groceries and takes out a pear - catch. JT - thanks. CC - was that Paul? JT - yeah. CC - missing person case still - or… JT - mm-hmm - what kind of pear is this? CC - green one. JT smiles - well, it's good. CC - I'm glad I don't have your job. JT - why is that? CC - because it's always about someone missing or lying or using other people - that sounds depressing.

Later CC comes out cleaned up - are you busy? JT - Miss Fashion Plate - what can I do for you? CC - I want to stop by my dad's for the rest of my stuff - your trunk is bigger. JT - does that mean you've decided to live here? CC - yes, and I'll pay half the rent, OK? JT - sounds good but can we do it while your dad is at work? CC - he is so scary. JT - I just don't want to be hassled. CC - my dad is in Boston and Victoria is probably still at work. JT - perfect time - let's do it. Later - JT is lugging bags out - how many pairs of shoes do you have? CC - I don't have 17 pairs of sandals. JT - I forgot about ones at loft. CC - as long as we're out here - I need to run some errands - dry cleaner and few others. JT - I'll stay here and get some baseball scores off the net - take it easy - don't stall my car this time. With CC gone - JT quickly goes to Brad's computer… just as JT takes out disc and turns computer off - Vikki comes in - JT, what are you doing here? JT - I waiting for Colleen to come back - she's running errands. CC gets back just in the nick of time - Vikki offers them something to drink - your father should be home soon - thanks - but no thanks - we should get going. When Brad gets home - Vikki suggests they have things to do - he wants to call CC first - she already knows you're home - she was here with JT to pick up her stuff - she'll be living with him at loft from now on. They race each other up to bed - but Brad cheats.

At loft - JT is already checking stuff on Brad's hard drive - sees a folder for personal mail and work mail - when CC wants to use his computer JT says no - Paul would kill me if I let you see any sensitive material.

FANNING THE FLAMES: Jack is picking Carmen up for dinner at NE - tired of the club yet? Carmen - that will be fine. Jack - is Victor around? Carmen - I saw him earlier - do you need to talk to him? Jack - not really. Phyllis gets off elevator - hi, again. Carmen - Phyllis. Jack looks at his watch - hey, Red - ain't it quitting time? Phyllis - it will be soon - where did you two decide to go to dinner? Jack - hold that please - GCAC dining room - Gina Roma proprietress. Phyllis - say hi for me. Jack - will do. Phyllis - great (as doors close) Phyllis sniffs - have a great time. Moments later Phyllis is telling Nikki she's changed her mind about traveling for NVP - I can learn a lot - besides Victor is right - you need to recuperate. Nikki - that's very thoughtful - thanks. Phyllis - if we want to expand as planned - we need to start nailing down some real estate. Nikki - that's true - I just don't want you feel like you're being pushed out of the building. Nikki wants Phyllis to start in Seattle and Vancouver - if you find something we'd want - make the deal. Phyllis suggests she work her way down the coast. Nikki - we don't expect you to do this all in one trip. Victor comes to pick up Nikki for dinner - Phyllis has dinner plans too. Victor - after you. Phyllis - thanks.

** At AC - Carmen can't quite believe she's having dinner with Jack. Jack - my opportunity to make amends. Carmen - I don't hold grudges. Jack - we both know I was less than charming when we first we met. Carmen - it's 10 after - we'll have apologizes until 12 after - then we'll move on to new business. Jack - Lady is organized. Carmen - that's why I get big bucks. Jack makes sure she understands how much it means to him that she saved his family's business. Carmen - I'm sure you miss running it. Jack - no question about that - let's talk about you - are you enjoying working next to 'the mustache'? Carmen - I assume you mean Victor. Jack - what's your take on him? Jack - how were the lamb chops? Carmen - out of this world. Jack - Victor must have paid you a pretty penny to stay in hinterlands. Carmen - I was ready for a change - but I haven't found a decent bagel yet. Jack - you were starting to tell me about Victor when the waiter brought our food. Carmen - I find him gracious - open minded - a pleasure to deal with. Jack - really? Carmen - he is easy to work with - sometimes it floors me how nice he is. Carmen gets a cell call from an assistant who needs help - Jack offers to see her to a cab - I'm from NY - I don't need help - do it again soon? - I'd like that . . as she skedaddles. Jack is about to leave too when he sees Nikki and Victor come in - I'll have coffee please. Gina welcomes Nikki and Victor - then wants him to come to kitchen to check things out. Nikki - we're not getting what we ordered. Victor - something much better - wait right here. Waiter bumps into chair - his tray goes down - Victor stops to help him clean up the mess - I get someone to bring a broom. Jack thinks about bandage on Victor's forehead. Jack goes over to greet Nikki - you look terrific - feeling as good as you're looking? Nikki - mostly. Jack - I heard about carjacking - I'm glad to be looking at you. He goes on to ask about Victor. Nikki doesn't think it was much - he didn't even see a doctor. Later after dinner - Victor makes a point of saying the wants to spend more time with woman he loves dearly - Nikki is sure having Phyllis on board will help - but opening at AC is coming up and she'll have to help keep things going. Nikki looks worried - she's never seen Victor like this - ever.

AFP TEST BLUES: At home - Mikey has been reading - Lauren is busy on computer - ready to knock off work for today? Lauren - I'm not working. Mikey comes over to see what she's doing - Sweetie… Lauren - I can't stop thinking about the baby and what would happen if… Mikey - I don't want you doing this now. Lauren - I need to understand what those test results mean. Mikey - did you hear what the doctor said? Lauren - yes, we have a 90% chance of having a healthy baby - but if something is wrong - we need to be prepared for that. Mikey - I want you take a deep breath - remember that test has a high false positive rate. Lauren - I didn't hear much after ‘birth defects'. Mikey explains that doctor won't know if anything is wrong until after amnio - know what you have to do now - get your rest, eat healthy food, drink your milk, and hope for the best - same set of instructions you got before you saw the doctor ~kiss/hug~ Later - Phyllis blows in with Mediterranean food - it doesn't get any better than this. Mikey - when did we make dinner plans? Phyllis - other night when we spoke - I can see I made a mistake - enjoy. Lauren - please stay - we can use the company. Over dinner - Phyllis tells them about her Aunt Mary's 7 kids with 30 years between youngest and oldest - when she mentions maternity leave - Lauren suddenly feels tired - I'm going to bed - thanks Phyllis. Mikey - need my help? Lauren - I'll be fine. Phyllis - did I say something? Mikey looks at Lauren - go ahead - tell her - you need your best friend right now. Mikey cracks up telling Phyllis his baby's tale of woe - Phyllis comes through for her friend - listen to me - nothing has changed - our kids are going to grow up together - no matter what - she even gets him laughing - she needs to go - tells him to have sweet dreams and not to let the bed mice bite. Mikey- don't you mean 'bugs'? Phyllis - I wanted to make sure you were listening. Mikey starts looking up things on computer - Lauren comes out to watch.

As soon as Mikey shuts the door - Phyllis gets Dr Thompson's office on her cell - talks to person on duty to give her the results - your tests are all OK- your baby and you are just fine - Dr Thompson will be confirming this on your next visit.

CODA: Jack asks Dr Campbell to stop by to talk about his father - after hearing the good news - asks him about his friend who may have a similar problem - Dr Campbell thinks this person should see a doctor for MRI and other tests ASAP - I'll pass that information along - I'll see myself out. Hummm!

LIGHTS, CAMERA, VICTOR: It's graduation day for Devon and Daniel in Genoa City, WI. At Abbott's - Jack is on his computer checking out news story about Nikki being injured in carjacking - "Following the carjacking, Mr. Newman was treated at Genoa City Memorial for a minor head wound and released." Ashley - hey, Jack. Jack - hey, how's it going - how's Dad? Ash - it's amazing what adjusting his medication did - no more throwing trays at guards - no more fighting - he's back to his own sweet self. Jack - good. Ash - you seem distracted - what are you doing? Jack - I was just thinking . . how complex the brain is . . how fragile - we're lucky changes in Dad were so obvious - we knew something had to be done - with others it's hard to tell if they have medical problems or if strange behavior is due to old age. Ash - I promise I won't think it's old age if you start throwing things. Jack - gee, thanks. Ash - what are you going to be doing with yourself with no office? Jack - not many CEO jobs here - except one I turned down at NE. Ash - that was for the best - I can't imagine you running into Phyllis everyday. Jack - I'm going to see her today - I'm going to Daniel's graduation. Ash - it's kinda nice the way you stayed in his life - you were father he needed. Jack - it was nice raising him with Phyllis - I keep thinking about how different our lives would be if she hadn't lost that child…

** At NE - Grandpa is showing Noah a few tricks you can do with a big copy machine - he puts his face down near glass - shuts his eyes and make a copy - what do you think of this? Noah - it's kinda weird - but it's funny - can I have one too? Grandpa helps him…

** At Winters - Dru (dressed to nines in red strapless with shades of red hat) - picks up picture of Devon - sits down on sofa - phone rings - hello - oh, hi - yes, I know we typically leave out of commercial - but today we're leaving out of International Terminal - we're flying Winters Air - I have my own jet - it's true - OK - see you soon - bye-bye. Devon - who was that? Dru - limo service - turn around - look at you - you're the handsomest high school graduate I've ever laid eyes on - it's true. Devon - thanks - like my tie? Dru - do I. Devon - my mom sent it to me. Dru - it's perfect (she takes gold cord in her hand) - I know what this is - but tell me again. Devon - I'm graduating with honors .. again .. I'm graduating with honors. Dru - I'm so proud of you ~hug~ both your mothers are. Devon - thank you - I wish I was going up on that stage with Lily though… Dru - know what? - you're a man now - this is great day for you - and I wish Lily were up there too ~hug~

** At AC - Lily is looking at Daniel's blue tassel. Daniel - are you OK? Lily - I'm not feeling sorry for myself - I don't want you to either - this is your big day. Daniel - yeah, but… Lily - I flunked physics by myself. Daniel - getting married in middle of semester didn't help. Lily - you got married too - I screwed up - I'll get my diploma later. Daniel - I still think school could have cut you some slack. Lily - it's no big deal - today is about you and Devon - come here (puts on his mortarboard) - I love you ~kiss~ love you too.

** Vikki gives Brad a ~kiss~ I'm glad you're in a romantic mood. Brad - why is that? Vikki - I have a very intimate dinner planned for us later - after stress and strain of board meeting - it will be exactly what we need. Brad - sounds great - why not skip board meeting? Vikki - you can't be that relaxed. Brad - I can't see any reason why I shouldn't get that empty seat - unless… Vikki - what? Brad - I've had some negative feelings from Nick. Vikki - do you think he'll try sandbag your nomination? Brad - maybe. Later - Vikki ties a ribbon in Abby's hair - perfect - are you all set to go? Abby - I have to get my bag. Brad - come here, I need a ~kiss~ love you. Abby - love you too. Vikki - I remember first day of summer vacation - what a feeling! Brad - you two are great together. Vikki - we had a lot of fun while you were gone - rented a movie - had popcorn - we missed you - especially me - when I thought of you alone in your hotel room and me alone in our bed - I didn't like that very much. Brad - I won't be going anywhere soon. Vikki - good - after today you'll be sitting on board of NE - that's a heavy responsibility. Brad - I don't understand why your father become my supporter so quickly - not that I'm complaining. Vikki - now if we could get Nick to join the party… Brad - do you think he can derail my nomination? Vikki - depends on who he gets on his side.

At NE - Nick with Neil's help - is trying to get support from outside members of board to keep Brad from being nominated for empty seat - it sounds like they'll hang with Nick - but Neil warns - Victor usually gets what he wants. ** Phyllis gets off elevator - is looking for something in her purse. Molly - it's good to see you back, Mrs. Abbott. Phyllis - thanks, Molly - it's great to be back. Molly - are you going to be doing any work in IT? Phyllis - I'm helping Nikki with NVP. Molly - let me know if I can help. Phyllis - absolutely- thanks. Phyllis sees Sharon - I'm not up for another encounter with you, OK? Sharon - who said I was? Phyllis - great - I'm here to work on NVP and I'm not interested in making your life miserable. Sharon - you couldn't do that if you tried - and I see no reason for avoiding each other. Phyllis - truce then? Sharon - truce.

** Nick is looking at his father's picture - wow, I didn't know you were into this sort of thing. Victor laughs - Noah and I had fun with copy machine - didn't we. Noah - yeah - I have one too. Nick - they're funny - why don't you go show these to your mom - she'll get a real kick out them. Noah - is it OK, Grandpa? Victor - you bet - give me five. Noah - see you later, Dad. Victor - anytime you want to come by the office - it's OK. Nick - so you're going to slate Brad to take Henry Madigan's seat? Victor - that's right. Nick - any other candidates? Victor - nope. ** Graduation group is gathering at AC. Neil - let me check you out - you look great. Lily and Daniel come over - Dad, is right - look at you - an honor student. Lily - I'll get my diploma later - moving right along - where's Mom? Neil - she's doing some last minute errands - she'll meet us there. ** At the same time - Nikki and Victor are greeting outside board members - Brad comes in with Vikki - he makes a brief speech pitching himself for empty board seat - when Nick comes in - Victor asks everyone to sit down - I think we all agree that Bradley should be nominated to fill Henry Madigan's seat - I think shareholder vote will only be a mere formality. Nick - actually, Dad - it won't be.

** In break room - Brad is nervous. Sharon - that's because you want to win - but end of day does it matter - it doesn't change the way I see it. Brad - that is comforting. Noah and Abby come in with their pictures - lady in coffee room helped us make one for Abby too. Abby - can't you tell it's me?

** Both outside members speak up - we don't want this board to be a rubber stamp for anyone - Vikki asks to make a statement in support of her husband - Victor takes a vote after that - it's a stalemate - Nick asks his mom to change her vote - she won't budge - after Victor explains that shareholders have the final say with their vote - Patricia and Grant fold - Nick is still pushing for not filling the seat - but Victor insists that they do - he sends Patricia and Grant off - with Bradley only one on slate - shall we vote? Nick - I think we should talk about this some more. Victor - before we do - let's vote - for? (all hands go up except Nick's) against? Nick's does. Victor - I'm sorry, Son - it looks like we don't have much to talk about - now if you'll excuse me - I have a sweet little lady waiting for me - I'll see you later. Nikki - OK - she gives Brad a ~kiss~ congratulations. Nick - see what you've done? ** Back at AC - waiter brings in cake for graduates. Gina - soft drinks for kids - drinks for adults - all on the house. Devon thanks Neil - I couldn't have done this without you and Dru. Neil - it's like Lily said - take credit yourself - you did this. Devon - thanks - where is Dru? Neil - she'll be here soon. Jack - now that I'm seen you graduate - take this - spend it on something you want. Daniel - you've already done so much for us - free rent and all. Jack - no one is standing in line to rent it - relax. Daniel - thank you ~hug~ Phyllis - you mean a lot to him. Jack - mutual. Phyllis - I appreciate it. In conversation with Dru - Jack learns Winters now own NE jet - also that he offered to pay for glasses waiter broke and his dry cleaning bill - when Neil and Devon take Dru off to airport - Lily feels like she's losing her family - Daniel tells her not to worry - you've got me.

** Nikki runs into Phyllis in break room - how was graduation? Phyllis - great - I made a fool of myself - I cried most of the time - how was board meeting? Nikki - Nicholas tried to keep Brad off of it - my children are at odds again - you're lucky you have only one - no one to fight with.

** In Victor's office he is making Abby something out of red paper - a very nice nun should me how to do this in orphanage where I lived when I was young - Abby asks what that is - you don't have to worry about that - may I open it? - please wait until you get to your room - then put it up for me - OK? Ash pokes her head in - here you are - it's time to go. Abby - Victor and I have had so much fun - can I do it every day? Ash - we'll see - your friends at camp will miss you. Victor - Noah was here too - I love it.

** Brad and Nick agree to try to work together for sake of company - Brad and Vikki are going to celebrate - Sharon goes to check on Noah and doesn't need Nick's help - he goes back to work.

** Back at Abbott's - Abby gives her Uncle Jack a ~hug~ I had so much fun with Victor - he made me this - isn't it nice? Jack - let me see - yes it is indeed. Abby asks to get some milk - be sure you put top back on tight - moments later she is yelling for help. Looking at red paper dolls in a row - Jack has a ~flashback~ to all the bad things that have happened between him and Victor - from leaving him for dead to tossing chair out the window - back in real time he picks up phone - calls Victor to see if job at NVP is still open - it is - Victor is happy to have Jack taking over for him - Jack thanks Victor - it will give me a chance to reach some goals I've always dreamed of - he hangs up and looks at row of red dolls.

Jack - if you need to reach me - call the switchboard at Newman Towers - they'll be happy to direct you to my new office.

** At NE - Phyllis runs into Sharon and Nick getting off elevator. Sharon - as you know, Dru started her European promotional trip today. Phyllis - yes - for BON. Sharon - apparently she setup a meeting with ad agency weeks ago. Phyllis - I thought she rescheduled that. Sharon - I offered to sit in for her. Phyllis - thanks for telling me. Sharon - no problem. Phyllis gets on elevator. Sharon - don't look so surprised - your former mistress and I had a little chat yesterday. Nick - do I dare ask what about? Sharon - we decided to call a truce. Nick - that's great. Sharon - only way to keep things running smoothly around here.

** At AC - JT is sitting at bar eating breakfast when Brad walks in and greets Jill at a table behind him. Jill - good morning, Brad - where is your bride? Brad - at a breakfast meeting across town. ** Gloria arrives at AC and thanks Jill for agreeing to meet her - then goes on to pitch her idea for an affordable Jabot line - same quality as high end - but for women on the go - call it JC instead of Jabot Cosmetics. Jill likes the concept but they part company when Glo wants to handle new line - you've learned a lot but not enough to do this - there is one other problem - an OK from Ashley is necessary before planning starts. Glo thinks it will easier than running it past Jack - I'm glad we don't have to worry about him - he has a new job. Jill - where? Glo - Newman. Jill - first Brad on the board - now Jack working there - has the whole world gone whacko? Glo - personally, I couldn't be happier - now he's someone else's problem. Carmen walks by with a hi. Jill - let's hope Ashley agrees with you. Glo - she will - she's a smart business person. ** At CL - Kevin brings his big brother some coffee - what are you doing? Mikey at his laptop - logging in my hours. Kev - important stuff? Mikey - yep - if I want to keep living the high life. Kev - is there a problem with the baby? While Mikey tells Kevin about Lauren and the baby - CC is telling Jana about Kevin and scares her off. Kev wants to know what Jana likes to do - she stops him short - something came up - that's OK - we can try another time. CC doesn't let it go at that - tweaks Kevin by telling him she warned Jana about him - Kevin is livid but keeps his cool - reminds CC she may need support sometime herself. Kevin blows his cool with his mother - she doesn't understand his hateful remarks until he tells her about Colleen - she wants to do something herself. At loft - JT has fixed CC's laptop - she still calls him a jerk - you act like it's a sin for me to touch your computer - what's going on? Brad calls - JT tells him not to worry about Colleen - I'm taking care of her - Brad asks to talk to CC - she tells him she's staying at loft - will see him soon. JT - does this mean you're staying? CC - it does - I know you really do care about me.

** Nikki - I forgot to tell you on the drive in - I'm going be here late tonight. Victor - some new lover you haven't told me about? Nikki - dozens - but I can't train them to do what you do - Phyllis and I have a lot to go over - we're talking about tie-in with Jabot. Victor - that's no longer necessary. Nikki - it is - unless you have a robot who can do it for us. Victor - I have a live human being. Nikki - really - who? Victor - Jack Abbott. Nikki - what have you done? Victor - Jack is going to take over my responsibilities at NVP. Nikki is appalled - you have to tell Jack you've reconsidered. Victor - I can't. Nikki - why not? ** In his new office - Jack is unpacking his briefcase - some pictures come out - he puts chain of red dolls around Abby's - someone delivers a basket of fruit - 'isn't that nifty, thank you' - Jack looks at card - 'Jack - welcome to the NVP team - hope you'll be happy here - Victor' - Jack leans back in his chair and smiles. Jack picks up an apple - Nikki pops in - I see you're making yourself at home. Jack - is there any reason I shouldn't be? Nikki - lots of them - this is a terrible idea. Jack - it was your hubby's idea - not mine. Nikki - I thought we were friends. Jack - we are - I had no idea you had an issue with this - we talked about. Nikki - that was before Phyllis came back. Jack - we're professional adults and this is a great opportunity for me - it's about starting a new company and getting to put my personal stamp on it. Nikki - you hated this idea - we came to you at Jabot first. Jack - that was a different situation. Nikki - please tell Victor you've changed your mind. Jack - I've already opened the gift basket. Nikki - please do it for me for old times sake. Jack - I'd do almost anything for you - not this. Nikki - why would you want to work for a man you loathe? Jack - let's just say when the mustache offered the carrot - I realized I'd be a fool to turn it down.

** Victor runs into Brad in the hall - I assume you and Victoria celebrated your victory. Brad - we did thanks to you - it wouldn't have happened without your support. Victor - I have something to say to Phyllis - then something for you - come with me. Phyllis - Gentlemen, is there something I can do for you? Victor - I have some news for you - I've hired Jack to take over me at NVP. Phyllis - you have to be joking. Victor - no, he'll oversee the project. Nikki - I came to tell you. Phyllis - this doesn't make any sense. Victor - he's a smart businessman - it makes perfect sense - and I'll expect you three to get along - I'll see you soon - Bradley. Brad - I had no idea you were planning to hire Jack for NVP. Victor - everyone seems surprised. Brad - you're not exactly chums. ** Nikki and Phyllis talk about situation - Phyllis thinks it's nuts - Nikki agrees but doesn't think they'll be able to do anything about it - it started after carjacking. P - because he almost lost you? N - I wish he'd buy a new sports car or something instead of trying to erase 30 years of back stabbing Jack.

** Jack runs into Sharon - she wonders why he wandering among the enemy. Jack - I work for NVP now. Sharon - how about that! Jack - you're first person I've told that didn't look shocked. Sharon - it would take more than this to shock me. Brad joins them - Sharon leaves. Brad - isn't this strange - last time we both were here - Victor was kicking us out and vowing revenge - I guess the old guy has had an epiphany. Jack - could be - I guess even the high and mighty need a little help now and than. Jack stops to get some coffee - sees Nick who is surprised Jack is there. Jack - get used to it, Kid - we're going to be seeing a lot of each other - I work for NVP now. Nick points out that Sharon and Phyllis have agreed to a truce - he thinks it a good idea for them too. Jack thinks it's a great idea - I've already forgotten about what happened. To make his point - Jack invites Carmen out to dinner to celebrate his new job. Victor stops by - where did you get those? Jack - Abby gave them to me. Victor - did she tell you I helped her make them? Jack - no kidding - that had to be enjoyable. Victor - I love spending time with that little girl - she's so sweet. Jack - she sure is - thanks for gift basket and making me feel so welcome. Victor - you're welcome - settling in? Jack - feels like home - I think there are exciting times ahead for all of us. Victor - yes, yes - I'll have my secretary get you the files you need. Jack - I'd like to have a meeting later today about Jabot/NE tie-in - I'm hitting this job running. Victor - just what I wanted to hear - anything else I can do for you? Jack - I just want to take some pressure off Nikki. Victor - I hope you and Phyllis can do that - it will give me more time to spend with the woman I love - have a blessed day. Phyllis - what was that love fest between you and Victor? Jack - relationships change - I would think you of all people would know that. As Jill and Ashley walk into Victor's office - Jill thanks her for coming in early. Ash - do you want to talk strategy? Jill - not the way you mean . . she goes on to tell Ash about Gloria's idea for an affordable Jabot line. Ash points out it's not a new idea - her father has already rejected it for Jabot - most important of all it would take at least a year to get up and running - idea fails across the board - let's drop it - don't worry about Gloria - Ash will handle her.

At Abbott's - Gloria has meeting to go to - but will stay with Kevin if he wants her to. Kevin - go to your meeting - I'm sorry I gave you such a hard time. Glo - it wasn't easy to hear - but you're right - I was a lousy mother. Kev - all of that happened a long time ago - besides - it wasn't you I was mad at. Glo - I know - it was Colleen - stay away from her - she's just trying to get a reaction out of you. Kev - she just can't stop shoving the past in my face - every time something good for me is about to happen - she's there - dumping all over it. Glo - if Jana wants to go out with you - nobody will be able to talk her out of it. Kevin doesn't believe it - but his mother insists Jana will trust her own instincts. Kev - go on to your meeting - I won't do anything stupid. Glo - you're a catch - don't you forget that ~kiss~

Back at NE - Ash takes picture of Jack and Victor as they walk in - next time you two say you can't get along - I'll have proof that you can. Jill - it is a little unreal. Jack - that's life - unpredictable. Ash shows Victor picture at his desk. Victor - you'd better not put that on Internet - Carmen will have a fit. Ash laughs - thank you so much - my brother needed this. Victor - we need him - he is eminently qualified for the job - and it's time we put this ridiculous rivalry behind us. Ash - did you say ridiculous? Victor - yes. Ash - what a day! Nikki comes in - gives them a frosty look. Carmen and Phyllis arrive together. Carmen mentions Gloria's idea to Ashley - don't worry about that it's a nonstarter. Jack - Gloria, in here - OK - we're all busy so let's get started - I called you here to share some ideas I have about NVP/Jabot tie-in. Jack starts by suggesting a line of luxury accessories such as robes, sweatbands etc with a new dual logo that could be sold at spas as well as retail stores that have regular lines - which leads them to promotion - he throws Phyllis a curve by asking for her input first. She gets off to a bad start because she had no time to think about it - sees it as an essential good idea - Carmen steps in - she think spas sales only at the beginning - bring department stores in for holiday sales - with spa buzz - customers will be eager to buy then. Jack - this is all good - now I'd like to mention a couple of other ideas I have. Phyllis looks exhausted.

Neil is waiting for Phyllis - rough day? Phyllis - sort of - here's the file you wanted - I've been meaning to call you about Lily's 18th birthday - with Dru out of town - I'd like you, Devon and the newlyweds to come to dinner at my place. Neil - surprise party at CL is already in the works - I hope you'll be there. Phyllis - I'm sorry for all that's happened. Neil - none of our family problems have anything to do with you - so stop this. Phyllis - we are in-laws - we should talk more - I'm headed for dinner - join me? Neil - I'd like that.

Victor is checking with Nikki about meeting - anything you didn't like? Nikki - I don't like Jack tossing out ideas without running them past Phyllis and me first. Victor - I'll take care of that - anything else? Nikki - I'm not thrilled about working with Ashley - but with Jabot tie-in - I suppose it can't be avoided. Victor - you worked well together at Jabot. Nikki - I'm glad I'm out of there - something about Ashley gets under my skin - I know it shouldn't. Victor - I'm sorry you are still having trouble with that ~hug~

At Abbott's - Gloria blows in - I guess you want to talk to me about new product line. Ash - I do - there won't be one. Glo - you haven't been listening - a lot of top designers are doing this. Ash (looking at mail) - but not us. Glo - it doesn't take a business major to know this is about me. Ash - don't take this personally - it creates bad feeling - that's silly - all we really want to do is to get along.

Victor stops by to see Ashley - he makes a point of telling her he has nothing more to do with NVP - if she has any questions - wants her talk to Jack. Later when Ashley calls him at office with Nikki there - he asks if it's an emergency - when she says no - he reminds her to talk to Jack. Nikki comes over to give him a ~hug~ for doing that - but he suddenly realizes he can't 'hear' what she is saying.

At AC - things get interesting when Phyllis and Neil arrive for dinner - Jack and Carmen are at nearby table. In chitchat between them - Jack sings Carmen's praises - Phyllis orders champagne to make it a celebration for Jack new job and new ideas. Jack helps Carmen to see that he is 'not' really her boss - she then feels better about having dinner again. Neil thinks Phyllis is distracted by seeing Jack with Carmen - she puts it off on being tired - Neil agrees - you should get home - it's been a long day.

At CL - Gloria asks Jana where Kevin is - he should be here soon - if you don't mind - I'll wait. Glo joins Jill - let me guess, you've seen Ashley - they go around about how Ashley is dismissing a great idea - Jill has no way out - Glo wants to go to John - Jill thinks that would be a bad idea - wants to sit tight for now. Kevin does get there - doesn't want to talk to his mother there - when Jana tries to explain that it wasn't what CC said that made her break the date - my good friend needed my help moving - Kevin doesn't believe her.

LOFT LAPTOP WOES PLUS: CC is trying to use her newly fixed laptop - it's acting up again - she gives it a whack - DARN THIS THING! JT - whoa - that might work with toasters but it doesn't work with computers. CC - I know - it was working - now it's freezing up on me - again. JT - I thought I fixed that thing. CC - well… JT ticks off everything he did to CC's computer - none of which worked. CC - at least you tried. JT - I know I was a little touchy about you wanting to borrow my laptop. CC - right - the sacred box - I know I got a little annoying… JT - more than a little. CC - you're not so easy to live with - you have all these rules about touching your stuff. JT - it's not all my stuff. CC - you won't let anyone borrow your car - or touch your guitar or laptop. JT - I let you borrow my car the other day. CC - remember when you taught me to drive? JT - we ended up in a ditch - when it started to rain - we spent the night on porch of abandoned farm house. CC - you were such a gentleman. JT- you were just a kid. CC - anyway - I knew I could always trust you - I was so… JT - yeah? CC - we should go out there again sometime. JT - I'd like that - but this time I'm driving - it took me a week to buff the scratches off my car. CC - hey, you were the teacher. Later - Kevin comes by - CC won't let him in - he goes on anyway - I don't seem to be able to get through to you - no games - no hidden message - I want you to back off. They get into a shouting match - JT gets off elevator rushes over to save CC - what's going on here? CC - he's out of control. Kev - I am not - tell her to stop messing with me!
