It's a new day
in Genoa City as Amber and Daniel wakeup on the floor of Kevin's
place. A hairless chest Daniel is naked and seeing his shame quickly
gets dressed as Amber moans.
"This never
happened!" he says when Amber comes around and moments later Jana and
Kevin appear. Worried that she's got only ten minutes to get to work,
Amber goes off to shower when Jana says she'll drive her in. Alone
with Daniel, Kevin gives him the eye. "A gentlemen never tells,"
Daniel grins.
Out at the tackyhouse, Jack, Phyllis, Sharon and Nick are
brainstorming their new venture. Upstairs baby Summer cries and with
Phyllis gone to check, Jack says they need an office to work out of.
Up at the main house, Victoria and J.T. are talking about how great it
is to be married when he says the time has come to move back to the
Sugar Shack.
At Jabot, Nikki promises Jill that she'll take good care of the
company and Jill says Victor tried to talk her and Katherine out of
hiring Nikki. Nikki says it figures. Victor likes to control her. He
also left town without telling anyone where he was going.
In Kansas, Victor is walking into the farmhouse kitchen. It's empty,
but he can hear voices and then nurse Shirley appears to say Hope is
in bed. Walking into the bedroom, Victor whispers "It's me." Hope is
ecstatic, then says that nothing can be done about her cancer. She's
dying and wants to die in her own home.
On the phone with his "legal team", Jack is trying to find a way to
get rid of Gloria, but so far no luck. Sharon adds that she and Jack
found Gloria and Jeff engaged in an argument and perhaps they'll
self-destruct?
At the Abbott home, Jeff is telling Gloria he wants to go to a weekend
yacht show; maybe buy a yacht. When Gloria hints that he might fall
overboard or something, Jeff says she better hope nothing happens to
him. In the event of his untimely death, he's written a letter to the
D.A. telling where the skin cream can be found.
Victoria
doesn't want to leave; she's worried Nikki may need her. That's not
what J.T. wanted to hear. He doesn't like being in Victor's shadow and
wants to be gone by the time Victor gets back. Victoria quickly
changed her mind. J.T. wants to leave, she'll leave.
Daniel told Kevin that he "crossed the line" with Amber. They had some
"fun" is all, and Amber is "cool" with it.
At work, Amber finds a cellphone someone left behind as Jana tells her
that Daniel is either her lover, or the last person on the planet she
wants to see. Amber says she and Daniel are great together. Jana
thinks there's more going on than Amber is telling and for Amber to
remember what she said. With Jana moving off, Amber decides it's time
to find a place of her own.
Phyllis comes downstairs to say that Summer now has a nanny! Then she
shows Jack a sample of Daniel's "talent" and wants to hire him to work
on the magazine. Skeptical, Jack says Daniel isn't a professional, but
when Phyllis says they can train him on the job, Jack says he'll find
a spot for Daniel so long as Nick approves. Nick does.
As Daniel tells Amber that what they did was just sex, Jana asks what
Kevin thinks. He doesn't think, and wants Jana to stay out of it.
Daniel and Amber were drunk. They are not, as Jana says, meant to be
together. In fact, Kevin says Amber is "trouble".
Back at Jabot, Gloria is telling Nikki that she'll do all she can to
support her. Pulling her aside, Kevin asks what the hell she's
thinking? She's been passed over how many times? Gloria says not to
worry; she's on her way to the top, and what the hell is Brad doing
there?
Brad told Nikki he's tired of Newman Enterprises and wants to know if
the offer she made him the other day is for real. Nikki says it is so
long as he doesn't use the COO position as leverage. "I'm in!" says
Brad.
Everyone is on
the phone trying to get sponsors for the magazine and lo, they need
only one more! How about Jabot? Nick can make that happen because
Nikki runs the place. She does? It's news to Jack. Nick says not to
worry; his mother will take good care of Jabot. "It's a bitter pill to
swallow," Jack gulps, but says he can handle it and will go after the
Jabot account himself.
Aware that having Brad at Jabot is not good for them, Gloria tells
Kevin she's hasn't taken her daily dose of poison as per Dr. Kevin's
prescription. She's worried about overdosing. Kevin says there's
nothing to worry about. She's got to drink the poison so that the cops
will buy the story that Jeff is trying to kill her.
Hope is so grateful for Victor being there. She wants to hear about
his "exciting" life, but at the same time can tell by his voice that
something is wrong. He tells how the family is splintered and only
Victoria is close to him. Hope knows how important family is to
Victor, but when it comes to telling Victor Jr. that she's dying, she
hasn't.
Neil is at the
coffee shop when Brad comes in to say he's leaving NE. Not so fast!
Brad has a contract. Brad says he wants out of the contract and if
Neil looks at the small print he'll see where it says that if the CEO
position becomes available and he's not offered it he can "parachute"
out of the company and that he's going over to Jabot. All Neil can say
is, "Does Victor know?"
Victor Jr. has a right to know, says Victor wanting to know if Hope
has called the boy. She has called to ask that he come home, but
bawling now, say she hasn't told him she's dying. At this point Victor
promises to take care of Jr.
At the ranch with David, Nikki asks if Victoria has heard from her
father. No, she hasn't and she's moving out. But darling, J.T.'s place
is way across town. If Victoria leaves Nikki won't get to see the
baby. Victoria is a bit confused. Won't mother and David be moving off
the ranch soon? David says yeah, they've got to start making plans.
Jack has a brilliant idea. Those who subscribe to the magazine will
become club members! Phyllis says he's a freaking "marketing genius."
Jack says it's partly thanks to Nick who is "the most creative person"
he's ever worked with! Oh, but Nick is worried. Jack's problems with
Gloria could be a problem for their venture's success. Jack says not
to worry.
At the Abbott home now, Kevin tells Gloria that she's got to take a
drop of poison each day for three days. After that she'll increase the
dose until the time comes to take the "fatal" dose and she's got to
start now. Doing just that, Gloria gags and runs off to get some
water. Jeff appears to ask why Kevin spends so much time with his
mother. Kevin says it's business. Jeff says he knows about Kevin's
history. "I've changed!" Kevin submits as Jeff says he's falling in
love with Gloria. With Jeff in another room, Gloria returns to say her
tummy is upset. Kevin thinks she's imagining things and promises to
keep his eye on her.
The phone
Amber found was Heather's and Heather is at the coffee shop to get it.
Daniel invites her to dinner and Heather accepts with Amber
overhearing and then calling someone about an apartment. While Amber
is doing that, Daniel comes up to ask if she's moving. Amber says yes.
Kevin's place is too crowded. As for paying rent, Amber says she's
making lots of money.
Just then who should come in pushing a baby buggy? It's J.T., Victoria
and Nikki who stop to say hello to Neil.
Now at Kevin's place, Amber is stashing money into her purse when
Daniel comes in to ask if she wants him to go with her to see the
apartment. No, thanks.
With Jeff again, Kevin tells him to drop the blackmail. He won't, but
he does have a gift for Kevin. The new sports car he bought just the
other day. "Are you trying to buy my affection?" Kevin accuses, but
takes the car and leaves.
Jack and Nick pop into the coffee shop next where Nikki informs them
that Brad will be working as Jabot's new COO.
After Victor has a flashback to when Victor Jr. was born, Hope told
him that they've got to tell Jr. the truth - that Victor is his
father.
At the
tackyhouse, Nick and Phyllis are discussing their magazine project
which Phyllis say will have as its core, women. When Nikki arrives,
Phyllis goes off to check on Summer as apparently the nanny is out
having a smoke. Nikki has a message for Nick: Daddy won't like that
he's working with Jack. But Nick already knew that. Besides, he says
the time has come for him to move on. Nikki admits that Victor can be
"ruthless", but he's still Nick's father.
A rack of clothes is being pushed into the Winters apartment where
Lily and Chloe and Devon will discuss Lily's budding fashion career.
Out at the Ponderosa, Victoria is telling J.T. that the place is quiet
without Victor around. She doesn't know for sure where he is, but it
must have something to do with business. That opens the door for J.T.
to say he doesn't want her going back to work. It's too soon. "I
wasn't meant to sit around," Victoria says to which J.T. replies, "You
really are your father's daughter."
In Kansas, Victor is giving Hope some tea as she whines and bawls
about feeling guilty that she never allowed Victor to bond with his
son. They decide Victor Jr. must be told the truth.
David is at the coffee shop ordering a latte when Jill comes in. He
thanks her for making Nikki so happy by giving her the CEO position
and then announces that he's the co-CEO of Jabot. Jill is shocked.
What experience does David have to be in such a powerful position?
When David says he's marrying Nikki, Jill notes that there isn't much
David does that he doesn't do with Nikki. It's like they're joined at
the hip.
Lily doesn't like the clothes. They're too tight. Devon says they'd
make good Halloween costumes.
Victor wants to know more about Victor Jr. so Hope rattles off how
their son is strong, self-sufficient and works in New York City at an
investment firm on Wall Street! Victor agrees they'll have to chance
telling Jr. the truth when Hope says he doesn't go by the name Victor,
or Victor Jr. His name is "Vic". Looking like she's in pain, Hope asks
for Victor to hold her hand and says how happy she is that he's there
before having a flashback to a time when Victor said he'd help her
with something else. When she snaps back to real time Vic is there,
and so she informs him that she's dying of cancer.
With Nikki gone, Phyllis tells Nick she agrees that he needs to
forgive Victor because it drains energy better spent on being happy.
But Nick says he's happy; he's got Phyllis.
If J.T. is worried about paying the bills, Victoria reminds him that
he doesn't have to now. J.T. says he doesn't want Newman money as
Nikki arrives to say there may be another wedding to plan; the one she
and David will be having.
Thinking Victor is a doctor and told he's no doctor, Vic figures out
that he's Victor Newman and wants to know why he's there. Victor
explains that he and Hope have been "friends" for a long time. His
mind going back to Hope, Vic says he knows someone who knows a fine
oncologist. Hope interrupts to say there is nothing left to do; she's
doomed. Vic doesn't want to believe it.
Meeting with Walter at the coffee shop who calls him "Clark", David
has the money Walter wanted but it's not enough. It's a quarter of
what David owes. Saying he's been named co-CEO and will soon be
rolling in money doesn't help either. Walter told David to get the
money from Nikki. Oops, wrong thing to say. David told him to stay
away from Nikki and as he leaves Jill sees Walter.
Nikki said she won't rush into a marriage if Victoria promises not to
rush back to work and then asked Victoria to work for her at Jabot!
Not wanting to be caught in the middle, Victoria declines and as Nikki
leaves says she knew that's exactly what would happen.
Victor talks about bringing in top specialists from the Mayo Clinic as
Vic runs downstairs.
Back at the Winters, Cane is there saying he's just checking on
Jabot's interest as Devon looks to be getting ill.
Down at the outhouse, Nikki told David she wants to hold off on the
wedding until Victoria has had a chance to adjust to the divorce.
When Chloe left, Jill arrived at the Winters to announce there will be
a big press conference for Lily next week. Before leaving, she told
Cane to check on one of the other contest winners staying at a hotel.
The long and short of Chloe's wanting Lily in the clothes she brought
by is that Lily is now feeling as if she's too fat.
Up at the main
house, Nick is telling Victoria about the new project and suggests
that she come work with them too! Victoria said she's staying at
Newman Enterprises and then wants to know why Nick got fired.
Vic is pacing the floor when Victor comes down. They sit at the
kitchen table where Victor pretty much says that Hope is doomed and
then changes the subject. "I understand you went to Harvard".
Sure enough! Vic went to Harvard. Getting back to Hope, Vic says he
didn't see the cancer coming and can't imagine his life without her.
With Cane at the coffee shop, Jill wants to know how much Lily wants
what she's about to get because Jill thinks Lily can be a star! Cane
lets it be known he doesn't like Chloe. Meanwhile, Lily is feeling
fat. Devon tells her not to listen to Chloe. Lily is having doubts
about becoming a model. "It's in your blood," Devon asserts.
Victoria and Nick ramble on about their parents and that J.T. isn't
putting pressure on her. Nick surmises that they are great parents
because they know what not to do to their kids.
Looking around the kitchen, Vic says, "I grew up here" and those were
the happiest moments of his life. Victor talks about pancreatic cancer
being the worst kind while upstairs Hope is caressing a Braille Bible
and having another flashback to when she told Victor, "I don't fit in
your world." Then she screams out for Victor. Downstairs, the boys go
running.
Cane returned to the apartment to say he wants to take Lily out to
dinner. She is the most beautiful girl in Genoa City. Lily says she
loves him and they kiss.
When Nikki says that Victoria is "vulnerable" right now, David doesn't
like it, be he agrees to hold off on the wedding.
Victoria wants to know why Nick was fired so he tells the story as
J.T. and Phyllis come in. When Nick mentions what happened with the
baby, Victoria demands to know what exactly happened and once she does
gets upset.
With Victor and Vic at her side, Hope tells Vic "we need to tell you
the truth." After a pregnant pause, she adds, "Victor is your father."
As a long
Genoa City day comes to an end, in Kansas Vic is saying his father is
dead. Hope says Cliff wasn't his biological father, Victor is. "This
is crazy!" Vic exclaims, as he asks how Hope could have lied for
"twenty seven years" adding that she's making it all up. "You deserve
the truth," Hope moans, and when Victor says "please listen to your
mother," Vic says it's a very private matter and for Victor to stay
out of it. Hope further confesses that she asked Victor to stay out of
Vic's life. "What kind of a man does that?" Vic wonders. It's all
Hope's fault. Now that she's dying she wants Vic to know that he has
family. "The only family I want is you," Vic shoots back.
Wearing a sparkly short dress, Lily is with Cane at the Indigo telling
him that they're asking for trouble just being there. Also present,
Jack tells Sharon that the magazine is taking shape. All she cares
about is that Gloria is still living in the mansion, No problem; Jack
says he's waiting for a judge to rule on that.
While Victor looks at the medications Hope is taking, Vic says she's
given him everything. He wants it to be just the two of them - alone.
Victor is a stranger who means nothing to him. "Please, get to know
him," Hope pleads as Victor tells Vic he wants to see him in the
kitchen.
The coffee shop finds Kevin telling Gloria that Jeff told him he's
falling in love with her. "He loves my money, he's playing you,"
Gloria snarls, taking note of the fact that Jeff gave Kevin a sports
car which she wants him to give back. No way! Kevin says not unless
she buys him one. "Get this through your thick little skull," Gloria
goes on, warning that if Kevin betrays her he will pay dearly. Kevin
backs off, and they talk about how Gloria must pretend to be sick,
she'll be taken to the hospital and suspecting a case of attempted
murder, the cops will go to the mansion and find poison in Jeff's
bedroom.
At the mansion, Jeff has come home from shopping. Pouring a drink, he
toasts the portrait of Gloria and says it's never too late to be rich.
He knows too that Gloria is up to something, but she'll never beat him
at his own game.
Karen and Neil are at the club and they see Cane and Lily. Sharon has
a brief chat with Neil during which she asks how things at NE are
going without Victor there. They're going, is all Neil says just as
Jack tells Sharon that he's got good news; things are looking up.
Joining Cane and Lily, Karen and Neil make small talk. Neil is
surprised Lily seems to know so much about the fashion business; she
flicks it off as something she's not taking seriously so Neil asks why
do it at all? Lily also remarks that she's got to fit into a size
"triple zero" by next week.
Armed with the news he's been waiting for, Jack hauls Sharon away and
they head for the mansion to tell Gloria. Jeff is whistling and
laughing his evil laugh when Gloria arrives to tell him to stop trying
to buy Kevin's loyalty. Jeff wants her to make dinner. "I have certain
expectations. Your name is Bardwell. I expect you to be nice to me,"
he says. And if she doesn't? "Jail is just a phone call away."
In the kitchen, Vic doesn't want Victor to stay. "I have every reason
to stay," Victor grunts. Vic doesn't care that Victor is his
biological father; Victor means nothing to him. "It's very
complicated," Victor mumbles, offering to tell Vic the entire story
because Hope wants them to get to know each other. No go. Vic says he
can't focus on Hope so long as Victor is there and so Victor goes
outside and stands there in the cold.
Upstairs, the nurse is with Hope when Vic returns. Without a word said
by either one, the nurse leaves.
Back at the Indigo, Cane presents to Neil an original and rare vinyl
LP recorded by one of Neil's favorite jazz artists. Cane obtained the
LP from his uncle in Australia and wants Neil to keep it. Neil is
impressed; he's been looking for that particular LP "for years".
Back at the coffee shop, Amber tells Jana she's moving out of Kevin's
flophouse because she wants to be alone. Jana thinks the reason is
because she and Kevin saw Amber and Daniel right after they had sex.
With an apron on, Gloria calls out for Jeff and getting no answer
pours herself a drink and puts a drop of poison in it. Sitting down,
she shuts her eyes and goes into a dream state wherein she sees Jeff
taking a drink of poison, grabbing his throat, and falling.
"Thinking of me?" Jeff asks in real time just as the doorbell rings.
It's Jack and Sharon with champagne!
"We'll get through this together," Vic tells a now whimpering in pain
Hope. She says time is running out, but Vic says there are all sorts
of new treatment and for her not to give up. She's not where Victor is
concerned. She wants Vic to get to know his father. "He's no more a
father to me than the mailman," Vic says before forgiving Hope for
lying to him. Still, he doesn't want a stranger in his life; not at a
time like this.
Cane and Lily
are dancing when Neil tells Karen that Cane is trying to buy his
approval. Karen doesn't think so. Why, Cane went out of his way to get
that LP; it shows character. Now, it seems Neil is buying it. On the
dance floor, Lily is telling Cane she suspects Neil is telling Karen
that Cane is trying to buy him.
Amber loves being by herself. Why can't Jana understand that? Because
Jana doesn't think Amber should be alone.
Jack informs Gloria and Jeff that the judge ruled and that he and
Sharon are moving back in.
While the girls are in the potty, Neil thanks Cane for the "very cool"
gift. Cane tells of living in the outback with his uncle who loved
jazz music and was poor. This reminds Neil of when he lived in Chicago
with his brother and they couldn't afford to go inside Andy's Jazz
Club. One day though, they got in because members of a band let them
carry in the gear.
The judge ruled that the mansion shall be shared "half half". They
will be assigned living quarters and time shared equally in common
areas. Overstaying the time limits will have serious consequences.
Jeff mentions that he's home a lot and so who's to know if he times
out? "I've noticed that," Jack sputters, suggesting that Jeff get a
job or a hobby. As to Gloria's concern about exceeding the time limits
by only a few minutes, Sharon says there can be no exceptions and Jack
agrees.
By the time the girls got back Neil was all sweet on Cane. Noting it's
late and that he's got to close up, Neil said he's picking up the tab.
Later, Karen said how "proud" she is of her man.
Hope is moaning and out of her head in pain. Victor comes running.
Taking Lily home, they kiss outside the apartment until Lily says she
wishes she had a place of her own because she wants to have sex and
can't invite him in. This turned Cane on. He kissed her all over until
Lily said she'll figure something out so that they can celebrate
Valentine's Day.
Watching Kevin and Jana fooling around, Amber flashes back to when she
and Daniel had sex.
So how is it Jack gets to enforce the rules? He has seniority. And in
case Jeff and Gloria don't understand the rules, it's "half the space
half of the time". Oh, they'll be moving back tomorrow.
A nurse is giving Hope an injection. As Vic cries, Victor puts a hand
on his shoulder.
It's
Valentine's Day in Genoa City. At the tacky house Nick has Summer
dressed in a red outfit he says he got from Fenmore's. Phyllis is
sleeping in as Nick gives Summer a stuffed animal covered with hearts
which Summer has no interest in. Nick tells Summer of the gift he got
for Phyllis, a massage and a limo ride to Genoa City's most
prestigious restaurant. Oops - there's Phyllis and she's sick with a
cold. She says she feels like there's an elephant on her chest.
At the Sugar Shack, J.T. is putting a mattress on the bed while back
at the main house, Victoria is preparing to move out much to Nikki's
dislike who says she can't understand why Victoria would want to move
when she's got a housekeeper and chef waiting on her hand and foot.
Too bad for Nikki, Victoria wants to live with her new husband and
baby. She also wants to know what happened between Nikki and Victor
while she was in a coma. "We prayed," Nikki says, but Victoria knows
there's more to it. There was a fight and she needs to hear from Nikki
what it was all about. "I can't think about it," Nikki whispers. "Did
you argue about me? Is that what drove you to divorce?" Victoria
presses on.
At home, Neil and Lily were too busy to get each other V-Day gifts. He
says she needs more "roommate" and less dad. and that he had a good
time with Cane the night before. He's not ready to welcome Cane into
the family with open arms, but he is impressed that Cane came from
"nothing", has made something of himself, and it shows Cane's
strength. Lily's phone rings. It's Cane calling from the coffee shop
which has been decorated for the day. Lily tells Cane to meet her in
an hour at the AC; she's got something special for him.
Daniel is worried that Amber looking for a place to live on her own
has something to do with the sex they had. It has, he says, made
things "weird" between them. When Amber says it was just a one-night
stand, Daniel announces his desire that they date other people. When
he adds that he's meeting with Nick later, she wants him to put in a
good word for her.
Karen arrived thinking Neil wanted to work out of the apartment today.
Wrong. Neil says they're taking the day off. He's got a special
project for her. As they kiss, red dress wearing Lily sees on her way
out. "That girl is up to something," Neil quips.
Nikki said the coma had nothing to do with the divorce, but Victoria
won't let it go. Nikki goes on to say her BP was high, it came down to
Victoria's life, or the baby's, and Victor and J.T. wanted to
terminate the pregnancy.
For Kevin's V-Day gift, Jana put a cute ad in the paper. But the paper
spelled Kevin's name wrong. No matter, Kevin thinks it's "awesome." At
the same time Amber is looking at a V-card someone sent her, only she
doesn't know who.
Phyllis is blowing snot out her nose as Nick passes a basket for her
to put it in. "I'll never get used to that hair," he says as Daniel is
there too to get his gift. A job! He'll be the fashion magazine's
photo layout person.
Now at the AC, Cane presents Lily with chocolates he had flown in from
Paris! Lily is impressed. She hasn't had that kind of chocolate since
she and Dru left France. Lily has a card for Cane and inside there's a
passport - to love! Yup, she's rented a room upstairs and off they go.
J.T. arrives to pick Victoria and the baby up and off they go.
Kevin and Jana talk about Amber wanting a place of her own and when
Jana gets on her matchmaking kick again, Kevin says, "We're not in
high school" and for her to knock it off.
Daniel made his pitch for Amber working at the magazine. Yes, she's
screwy, but she does great work. Phyllis says she'll take a look at
Amber's talent and then thinks it odd that Jana needs a job at all
considering she seems to be rolling in money in that she's right now
looking at renting Phyllis' penthouse apartment. Unless she means the
run-of-the-mill apartment Jack fixed up for her awhile back, Phyllis
never owned a penthouse anything. And if even if she did, why's she
living in a tack house?
Meantime, Amber is meeting with Carole the realtor. A background check
shows that Amber's income won't support the rent. Ah, but what if
Amber put down six months rent in advance - in cash! Kevin and Jana
overhear this conversation and are shocked.
Lily had the
room decorated with photographs from Paris. She speaks in French to
Cane who guesses what she's talking about and with French music
playing in the background they kiss. Then Lily throws herself at Cane
and he's hot to trot. At the same time he's worried. Is she sure she
wants sex? She wants it, bad. She tells Cane she won't break and that
she's had sex before. Trying to speak French when he can barely speak
English, Cane fumbles around until Lily tells him to get the show on
the road. She strips down and his shirt comes off as they hit the bed.
Now at the Indigo, Karen is surprised to see Pat Benatar and her
husband, Spyder. Pat says they just happened to be passing through
town, but Neil admits he arranged the visit so as to help Karen
overcome her stage fright!
Back at the Sugar Shack, J.T. is giving Victoria flowers. Meanwhile,
at the outhouse, Nikki is with David and she's moving too.
Rushing back to the coffee shop, Daniel lit into Amber. How can she
afford his mother's penthouse on Riverside Drive? Amber says she
getting the money from her website. Carole comes back to say the deal
is done. The penthouse is hers. Well, this changes everything for
Daniel. He wants little to do with Amber, and this too is overheard by
Kevin and Jana.
Phyllis and Nick jibber jabber about the gift he got her and the one
she didn't get him. The only gift Nick says he wants is not to catch
her cold.
Victoria is preoccupied as J.T. breaks out a bottle of champagne. They
can talk about whatever is bothering her another time.
Taking one last look around the main house, Nikki has a flashback to
happier times with Victor.
Back at the Indigo, Karen is singing the same song as last time while
Pat and Spyder whisper amongst themselves. This scene is superimposed
with a montage of Nick feeding Phyllis soup, Daniel and Amber
exchanging looks, Victoria and J.T. drinking champagne, Nikki and
David exchanging gifts, and Lily and Cane on a bed strewn with rose
pedals.
It's a new day
in the big city. In Kansas, Victor is telling Vic to get some sleep
and that's the extent of this empty scene as Jack and Sharon are
returning to the mansion where they hear Gloria singing and argue with
her about who's using what part of the house and for how long. Sharon
grumbles that she doesn't like Gloria leaving her junk around.
At the AC, a naked Lily and Cane are in bed. She's happy and they
pretend they're in Paris with a bakery just around the corner. Lily
throws around French terms around as Cane shoves chocolates down her
throat, says he can't keep his hands off her, and they kiss.
Jeff doesn't like living under such horrible conditions. When Gloria
says that Sharon doesn't like messy people, Jeff drops a plate on the
floor followed by salt and pepper until the sound of a dog barking is
heard. That's it! The way Gloria can get to Jack and Sharon.
Dressed in blue, Hope wakes up. She doesn't have any water and so Vic
goes off to fetch some as Victor tells Hopes she's got to make the
most of every remaining minute. Hope is aware that death is coming and
she's prepared to face it knowing that Victor will be there for Vic,
who she says is like his father in that Vic is very sensitive and is
"his father's son."
At the Indigo, Spyder and Pat are telling Karen how to get over her
fear of public singing. Neil comes in to say he must be leaving and
does just that as Pat whispers in Karen's ear a secret tip.
Noah is at the mansion too. Seeing Fisher, he's excited and Jack says
yeah, he picked the dog up from the kennel first thing. Noah worries
that Gloria, overhearing nearby, will do something to make Fisher run
away. Sharon says there's a surprise (a dog toy) for Noah up in his
room and so they all go up to have a look. When they're gone, Gloria
gets a T-bone steak out of the refrigerator and as she gives it to
Fisher says, "I used to know a Fisher. He was a dog too."
Cane and Lily come downstairs just as Neil comes into the AC. Neil
tells Lily he's got a meeting to go to and when he's gone Lily asks
Cane if he thinks Neil figured out what they did. Cane says he'll talk
to Neil.
In the kitchen, Victor asks Vic if he should go to the store to get
some stuff to make sandwiches before saying that Hope is slipping away
and there are times when no matter how you like being in control,
you've got to let go. Vic snarls he knows about control and the dark
side of Victor Newman. Hope may think he's a great man, but Vic knows
better.
Devon has stopped by the Winters apartment for some food he tells Lily
he's taking to "the dorm". She tells of spending the night in Paris,
and saying now that he's going back to the "campus house", Devon goes
to take a shower. Lily calls Colleen with a summons to meet her at the
coffee shop unaware that Devon is listening.
Quick scene of a glum Victor pacing the kitchen floor.
Noah is looking for Fisher when the doorbell rings. It's Kevin! "What
are you doing here?" he asks Jack, who tells him from now on to use
the service entrance and slams the door in Kevin's face. Noah can't
find Fisher so he and Jack and Sharon go looking.
Jeff asked Kevin how he's enjoying the sports car and getting no
response asked what, no thanks? "Probably" is all Kevin says as Gloria
explains to him the new house rules. Observing the mess and the reason
why, Kevin says it's juvenile and with Jeff gone for a moment, wants
to know if Gloria is taking her poison and that there are just two
days to go before the dose must be increased.
Cane told Neil it's not "fair" to make Lily walk on eggshells. Neil
shoots back that a night with Cane does not make Lily a grownup. Is
Cane in love with her? Cane says he is.
Lily kissed and told Colleen about her night in Paris. She whined that
Neil doesn't think she's an adult and got from Colleen that she must
make Neil respect her choices. As for Colleen's question if things
between Lily and Cane are serious, Lily said she thinks she's falling
in love.
With Victor listening, Vic tells Hope that he shares an apartment in
NYC with a view of the Statue of Liberty and he's hoping to get a
place of his own in about six months. Hope wants to hear that he'll
accept Victor, but Vic says he can't handle Victor being there. Hope
says having Victor there does a dying woman good. Victor chimes in to
say Vic needs to get some sleep. Vic says he doesn't want to leave
Hope's side, but does, giving Victor a chance to tell Hope to be
patient with the boy who Hope says doesn't like being told what to do.
Victor mumbles that Vic is who he is because of Hope and then goes
downstairs.
Neil tells Cane that Lily is "strong willed, independent, young and
vulnerable." Meanwhile, Lily is confirming for Colleen that she's in
love and she knows it.
Jack asks if
Gloria has seen the dog. She has; she suspects Fisher is outside doing
his business. What? She let the dog out? Jack is outraged, and when he
goes back to look for Fisher, Kevin warns Gloria that she's crossing
the line.
In the Kansas kitchen, Vic is munching on chips.
Karen is singing that same old song! Glasses shatter as she screeches
the ending and there's applause as Neil comes in to tell Karen he saw
Lily with Cane, he knows what they did, but thinks he handled it well.
Karen said he's got to learn to deal with it.
Kevin has Gloria's poison ready. She drinks it as Jeff comes in to say
they're outside looking around for the dog. Gloria didn't put poison
in the puppy chow - did she?
Fisher is found chewing on the steak - Jack's steak - and Jack is so
pissed he tells Gloria she'll pay for this.
As a special treat, Pat Benatar and hubby put on a private concert for
Neil and Karen. It's one song lasting all of two minutes.
Back at the coffee shop, Colleen scurries off when Cane comes in to be
with Lily. It's another empty scene as is the next with Vic listening
this time as Hope and Victor talk about stuff that does not matter.
Scolding Gloria for what she did to that "eleven-year-old boy", Jack
says it's "strike one". Two more and she's out. "That sounds like a
threat" Jeff quips. Duh.
