Time flies
when you're having fun and thus it's another new day in Genoa City -
or is it?. At the AC where they went to celebrate another issue of RSM
hitting the street, Nick is complimenting Victoria on cleaning up so
well. He owes her big time for saving the cover. Too bad Sabrina
rained on their parade. As Phyllis interjects it was Sabrina who
attacked her, Victoria says she's sorry. If anyone had told her six
months ago that anything like that could have happened she wouldn't
have believed it. Now, Victoria doesn't trust Sabrina especially since
her old boyfriend came to town. Nick wonders if she means Sabrina
cheated on Victor. "She's capable of anything," Victoria says, adding
that she wants nothing to do with Sabrina anymore.
At the gallery, Sabrina is thanking for Professor for a good job on
the article. He's an "excellent" writer. True, but the Professor says
he couldn't have done it if she hadn't been so open with him. Plus,
he's thinking that the article will be good PR for the charity gala.
When Sabrina tells that she had a bad argument with Sabrina, he says
not to worry. He's sure she and Victoria will work it out especially
when people read the article they'll know what a kind and
compassionate person Sabrina is.
At home on the phone, Jack is telling someone that only the content of
the article was changed.
Also at the AC, Katherine is informing Jill that she's hired a
director of organic operations. Jill is incensed; Katherine went
behind her back - again. Well, someone had to do Jill's job what with
her obsessing over Jeff, who Katherine says, has been using Jill. In
any event, Jill doesn't like Katherine micro-managing.
Jack was surprised when he found Gloria and company in his house.
Gloria wants to use the dining room to throw a welcome home party for
Kevin. Jack is opposed, but when Gloria sweet talks him, he gives in
just this one time. When Jana and Kevin arrive, Gloria flashes her
wedding ring and Kevin says he's going to be sick. There too, Michael
says the mayhem has just begun.
In her penthouse, Amber is flashing back to Daniel walking out on her
when he walks in. In a frenzy, Amber says she was worried; she tried
calling; where was he? She made a mistake, she's sorry, can't he get
over it? He can't. He wants to know who she slept with, and laughs
when she says it was the Professor. Then Daniel says he emailed her
every day. She notes that she didn't get any email and thought he was
cheating on her. What's done is done. Can't he forgive her? He can't
no matter how much she begs. Saying he'll be back to get his stuff,
Daniel storms off leaving Amber to bawl some more.
At home, Brad finds a compact on the floor. He calls Skye and leaves a
message. He's got her compact which will give her an excuse to come
back to Genoa City. During the interim, since she's a Harvard Business
School grad, he's got a job offer for her at Jabot where Brad says
David will soon be out, and he, Brad will be calling the shots.
Jill complains
that Katherine doesn't have any confidence in her. Katherine says
someone had to pick up the slack, so that's why she went behind Jill's
back. But Jill says Katherine knows why she's been preoccupied. Jeff
told her that Gloria has done something before and she's got to find
out what it is. Katherine's not having any of it. She tells Jill one
more time to stop obsessing and do her job.
Now that they're all family and her marriage is real, Gloria tells the
group, "We have a plan," which Michael says are four scary words. Jeff
adds that they need Michael's help to buy Jabot stock - secretly.
Arriving at Brad's home, Jill says she's got a proposition for him.
Now at the AC, Jack informs the Professor that he's got another
assignment for him. He wants an article on aborigine art and that the
Professor must leave tonight for the Australian Outback where he's to
meet with an expert on the topic. Jack says only the Professor can
write the article, and while he's flattered, the Professor wants time
to think about it.
Katherine shows up at the penthouse providing a shoulder for Amber to
cry on.
Arriving at the magazine, Daniel sits down at Amber's desk and sees
the problem just as Nick and Phyllis arrive. "What are you doing
here?" Phyllis asked. Daniel's response was that he wanted to see how
far Phyllis would go to mess up his life. Jack blows in to say Sharon
is meeting with a designer, and notices Daniel doesn't seem himself,
but gets distracted when Sabrina arrives to offer an apology for
"yesterday." Phyllis told her to tell it to Victoria which Sabrina
said is exactly what she plans to do.
Amber will do whatever it takes to get Daniel back. Katherine says if
he really loves her, he'll come back his own as Amber blames
everything on Phyllis. Wrong. Katherine scolded Amber for lying and
generally said she made her bed, lay in it.
Phyllis blocked Amber's email! Phyllis says, yeah, she did. Daniel
wouldn't listen to her; he's making a mistake; Amber will bring him
down. Daniel doesn't want to hear it. "Stay out of my life!"
Jill's proposition is top secret. She wants Brad to help her oust
Katherine from the company.
Nick's getting bad news. Magazine sales aren't going well. Jack
confirms that RSM spends more money than it takes in. At the same time
Phyllis and Daniel are pulling their fangs out of each other, Amber
comes in to see the tail end, thanks Daniel for what he told Phyllis,
but it's of no help to her as Daniel says nothing has changed.
With Jana at the gallery, Victoria arrives, then Katherine who can
feel the bad vibes and instructs the girls to put their differences
aside.
According to
Michael, there are plenty of companies in Genoa City willing to create
a dummy company for Gloria's plan. But she and Jeff want him to handle
it. It needs to be secret so that Jabot won't catch on and put a stop
to it. Okay, Michael will do it - for a price. He wants the tainted
skin cream. Is Jeff willing to hand it over? "I'm one of you now,"
says Jeff, as he agrees. The cream is in the AC safe. He'll go get it.
Michael says he'll destroy it when he's got it.
Sabrina and Victoria argue over color schemes which it's said one of
the choices is the same as last year and the year before that.
Jack is worried about the magazine. It's not a workable business. Lost
sales and low advertising rates do not a successful magazine make.
Nick doesn't like the implication that they're running a rich man's
hobby. The legacy he'll leave his children depend on RSM; he's got to
get our from under Victor's shadow. Ah, but Jack says difficult days
are ahead.
The girls still arguing, Katherine steps in. They've got to find a way
to work together! Sabrina and Victoria agree to call a truce, but when
Sabrina says a walk through of the Colonnade Room with the manger is
scheduled for today, Victoria says it'll have to be changed because
she's got to take the baby to the doctor. Fed up, Katherine leaves.
Brad likes whatever Jill told him of her plot, although he's concerned
that the power play against Katherine will be dangerous. Jill says it
won't fail, and that once they win Brad will be running Jabot.
Happy that things are going so well, Gloria crows that she'll have her
revenge against Jill. How dare Jill treat her like garbage? Jeff
returns. Bad news. The cream is gone!
Jack is sorry if he brought Nick and Phyllis down. Nick is beginning
to wonder if Jack wants the magazine to succeed. Jack does, but it
means taking drastic measures. Can Nick handle that? Nick says so long
as there's nothing criminal involved, he can.
Amber wants Daniel to talk. There's nothing to talk about. In comes
the Professor. He says hello to Daniel. The tension can be cut with a
knife.
Show #8937 - 07.15.08
- Director: Susan Strickler
It's one of
those can we go along to get along days as Jack informs Nick about
wanting the Professor to go to Australia. It's news to Nick, but he
goes along as at the magazine Amber urges the Professor not to say
anything to Daniel.
At the Abbott mansion, Michael reminds Jeff that without the skin
cream there's no deal. Gloria thinks that Jeff doesn't want to hand
the cream over because he still wants to control her. Jeff says that's
not so. He really doesn't have the cream. The last he knew the cream
was in the AC safe.
With David at the AC, Nikki has a way for him to prove himself. She
believes in him and thus wants him to meet with her and Nick to
discuss having Jabot co-sponsor the charity gala. Meanwhile, Sabrina
is reporting to Victoria that she did the Colonnade Room walkthrough
without her.
Taking her idea up a notch, Nikki wants David to be in charge of
fundraising for the gala. It would be the perfect opportunity for him
to get exposure and show everyone why she believes in him. David
thinks she's nuts, but agrees to meet with Nick.
With Victoria grumbling that she didn't know what Sabrina did, Sabrina
says she tried calling. Oh darn, Victoria had her phone off while she
was at the doctor's office with the baby. At any rate, Sabrina wants
to know if they can't just stop the fussing, but Victoria is still
upset because Sabrina went behind her back.
Gloria thinks Wally took the cream! He knew how to "pick locks". Or,
Gloria says, it could have been Jill who bribed someone at the AC to
open the safe. Jeff thinks his Korean girlfriend took the cream when
she went to get some jewels her gave her out of the safe. To get the
cream back, Jeff says he'll go to Korea. "Over my dead body!" says
Gloria.
Happy to hear that the third issue of RSM has shipped, Jack isn't so
happy to hear that the Professor can't leave tonight. Meantime near
the elevator, Amber is telling Daniel not to let the Professor get to
him, but Daniel confronts him anyway. "So how was it for you? You
slept with my girlfriend!" The Professor's reply is that they were
drunk. He and Amber were old friends having one for the road so to
speak. It was a mistake, and the Professor hopes that Daniel can move
past it because Amber loves Daniel.
With the
Professor gone, Daniel reminds Amber that he could have fooled around
too. But he didn't. And as he leaves Amber breaks down bawling as Nick
comes over to suggest she take the rest of the day off - and she does.
To appease Victoria, Sabrina says she's agreed to change the gala
color scheme and the entire gala will have a more conservative theme
which is what Victoria wants.
The big question remains: Who will go to Korea and who will not as
Gloria's thinking she'll go.
Meeting with Nick at the AC, Nikki learns that he'll go along with the
idea of having RSM and Jabot co-sponsor the gala so long as David
isn't involved. Of course, this isn't want Nikki wants. She wants Nick
to give David another chance.
As Gloria packs, Jeff says that his ex-girlfriend won't easily turn
over the cream.
Talking about the good old says they shared, Victoria and Sabrina
agree to put their difference aside for the gala's sake.
On his phone, David is telling Walter that the "job" will have to wait
as he runs into Jack.
David isn't walking all over her; he's not, as Nick said, a loser.
Nikki says she's doing this because it's what people who love each
other do. Nick says she's in denial, but then hints he might be
willing to let David prove himself.
Jack thinks co-sponsoring the gala is a good idea, but he's got
reservations because David is on the project and doesn't want to work
with him ever again after what David did to his political career. But
when David says, "I'm the man for the job," Jack backs off a bit
albeit nearly convinced that Victoria would never agree. David
continues the full-court press. His being nice, looking for another
chance, is part of his 12-step program. Haven't people given Jack
second chances before?
At the coffee shop, Daniel is having a musical flashback to better
times with Amber when Kevin comes over and seeing that Daniel doesn't
look like himself asks if he wants to talk about it. Daniel says he
doesn't, but he does anyway whining that Amber slept with the
Professor. Kevin is shocked; Amber? Couldn't happen. She's crazy about
Daniel. Okay then, would Kevin cut Jana some slack if she slept with
another man? Why yes, he would.
At the
penthouse Amber is bawling when the Professor arrives. He can't
understand why she told Daniel because nobody had to know. Was she
felling guilty? So how's she feeling now? He also tells of being asked
to go to Australia, and that he declined. That's when Amber said that
he must go. Do it for her.
As if there was any doubt, Victoria and Sabrina have agreed to go
along to get along.
Nick can't understand why Nikki is willing to wait so long for David
when if it was anyone else keeping her waiting she'd throw a major
fit. That she's waiting only proves that David can control her. That
did it. Nikki hissed how dare he talk to his mother like that? He
better stick to publishing because he's a lousy psychologist. Just
then David appears with Jack, who learns from Nick that so long as
Jack is cool to David's being onboard, Nick is too. Now all they have
to do is run it past Phyllis and Sharon. With Jack and Nick gone,
Nikki apologies to David for having doubted him. David thanks her for
having faith in him.
Gloria has changed her mind. Jeff can go to Korea alone. Michael
doesn't believe her, but when Gloria is out of earshot, Jeff tells
Michael that she wouldn't have been able to go anywhere because he hid
her passport.
The Professor says he can't leave, but when Amber keeps whining that
he'll keep running into Daniel if he stays, and that she's madly in
love with Daniel, the Professor says he'll leave. Besides, it'll give
him a chance to get away from Colleen. As fate would have it, when
Amber gave the Professor a hug, Daniel was there to see it.
Jeff is booked on the next flight to Korea. Gloria wants him to
promise he won't have sex with that woman. He says he won't. He'll
hurry back to his "spitfire princess" and he won't hold the skin cream
threat over her head no matter what.
Meeting with Nikki and David at Jabot, Victoria, Jack and Nick like
her idea. Jack says that Sharon and Phyllis are onboard too, but
there's a snag - David. David makes his plea and Nick gives his okay
so long as there's a safeguard in place so that David can't have
access to the money. Just then Jack gets a call from the Professor who
says he's on his way to the Outback.
With bag in hand, Daniel complains of having found Amber with the
Professor again. She pleads, she cries, but to no avail as Daniel
gives her his key and slams out leaving Amber to slide down the door
in bawling fit agony.
Show #8938 - 07.16.08
- Director: Andy Lee
We know it's a
new day in Genoa City because out at the ranch Victor is telling
Sabrina that he just got back from taking a walk and watching the sun
rise. He also wants her to remind him to call Abby because her horse
is pregnant, and that he's got to write a check because Newman
Enterprises is donating to the charity gala. The phone ringing, Victor
answers. Yes, he liked the article. Yes, Sabrina introduced him to
modern art and that's why he built the art gallery. After telling
Sabrina that the caller thought that he'd be critical of the article,
Victor orders one of his people to go to the store and bring back a
copy of the magazine.
At Restless Style, Phyllis is worried about sales and Nick is worried
about the article although he doesn't yet know changes where made to
it. If things for the magazine go south, Nick says they'll be in big
trouble because he can't borrow against his trust fund again.
Home with Sharon, Jack suggests they take the day off until Sharon
reminds him that they're expected at the gala luncheon. Okay, Jack
says he probably should go to that and then has a flashback to hacking
the Professor's article.
With Nikki at the AC, Katherine is surprised to learn that David is in
charge of fund raising. Nikki assures her that David is good at what
he does, and that his personal issues won't be a problem. As for how
Sabrina could have signed off on working with Victoria after what
happened, Katherine can't quite grasp that as David walks in with a
copy of RSM.
Now that his wife is a "celebrity", J.T. wants Victoria and the baby
to go with him for a day at the lake. Sorry, Victoria says she's got
the luncheon.
With a copy of the magazine now, Victor and Sabrina read the article.
Yikes!
Sharon reports to Jack that Noah has sent postcards from Summer Camp.
He needs bigger "sneakers" and for them to bring him a pair on
Parent's Day. So, has Jack any idea about magazine sales? Not yet.
Sharon's got big ideas for the next issue, but Jack isn't so sure
there will be a next issue because Nick isn't prepared to do what it
takes to make the magazine a success. Nick doesn't know how to gain
attention; create controversy. If only Jack had free reign he'd show
them. As for Sharon's question will he buy Nick out, Jack says that
would never happen. But he seems to know that the new issue is bound
to be shocking.
At the coffee
shop, Jana, Kevin, Colleen and Daniel are discussing the magazine
article too. Daniel isn't surprised. The Professor can't be trusted.
After David reads from the article, Katherine says there are going to
be some serious ramifications. Meantime, J.T. is reading from the
article too and then Victoria takes her turn after which J.T. says
Victor will be pissed, and Victoria adds that Sabrina won't dare show
her face.
Reading the article aloud too, Victor notes the part where it says
there's a "rift in the Newman family" and a crying now Sabrina swears
none of it is true. Why would the Professor write such a thing? It's
not like the Professor. Victor surmises Jack is responsible. But what
gives Victor utter disappointment is that his two kids were involved.
Subsequent to both Phyllis and Nick fielding phone calls, Nick reports
that the numbers are "insane" and there are raves about the
controversial article.
Daniel presumes that the Professor did a "hatchet job" on Sabrina to
make her look like a gold-digger. Colleen's not so sure; it's not
something the Professor would write. There now too, Brad adds that the
Professor "juiced" the article up and reminds Colleen that the
Professor turned on her. Oh, yeah. "I guess he's capable of just about
anything," says Colleen.
After reviewing the article, Nick tells Phyllis it's not the article
they approved. Victoria is quoted extensively throughout it. Phyllis
is taken aback. It's not something Victoria would do. So who did it?
Nick says he'll find out.
The phone ringing, Jack lets calls go to voicemail as Sharon suspects
he's hiding something. Jack says he's only trying to buy time until
sale figures come in. If sales aren't good it'll be the end of RSM. In
an effort to prevent that, he made a few changes to the article.
With J.T. and Victoria now, Nikki asks if what's in the article is
true. She's concerned because gala supporters might back out.
When Katherine showed up at the ranch, Sabrina assumed it was to ask
for her resignation as co-chair. Not so, Katherine said she figured
the article wasn't true and not for Sabrina to worry her pretty little
head. In fact, Katherine wants her to hold it high. She is Victor
Newman's young wife and people are just jealous. Ah, but Sabrina can't
do it. She's not strong. A phone call for Katherine, she tells a
reporter that the article is not worth the paper it's written on. Then
it's back to convincing Sabrina to hold her head high subsequent to
Sabrina saying she doesn't want to see Victoria ever again for the
rest of her life. She, Victoria, is a hypocrite; a backstabbing bitch.
Unable to
reach the Professor, Nick tells Phyllis that he had him paged at the
airport when Victor stomps in. 'What the hell do you think you're
doing?" Nick doesn't know what happened. Victor demands a retraction
and reminds Nick that he warned him about Jack. Nick better damn well
fix this. "You got that?"
Jana can't understand why the Professor would do it. Colleen says it's
because he didn't get tenure at the university, but then, maybe he
didn't write it. Not what Daniel wanted to hear, he sneers "why am I
not surprised" when Colleen flip-flops.
Katherine isn't done with Sabrina. She tells of the time when Jill
hired Rex Sterling to seduce her. Boy, how the tongues wagged, but
Katherine held her head high. Ah, but Sabrina doesn't know if she has
it in her; everyone is against her.
When Phyllis asked Amber what the Professor told her about the
article, Amber denied knowing anything when Nick came over to say it
was Jack who changed the article.
So what if the article isn't true? It sells magazines, Jack informs
Sharon, who can't believe that he lied to her again. But Jack says he
was only trying to protect her. Plus, he saved "hundreds" of people
their jobs. Be that as it may, Sharon isn't happy. Jack has made her
look like an idiot.
Nick can't reach Jack so he's off to track him down. He'll meet
Phyllis at the luncheon later. Alone with Daniel, Phyllis asked if
she's being too hard on Amber. Oh, and she has some of his mail
including a "jury summons" which she'll drop off at his place later.
Unless, he didn't move out - did he? Daniel won't say. He wants to
keep any conversation they have work related. Well, if it's
uncomfortable for Daniel having Amber at the office... "Fire her and
I'll never speak to you again," Daniel spat, noting that when he was
away Danny treated him like an adult.
Back at the AC, Katherine wants to know from Victoria if it was Nick's
intent to rip Sabrina. Victoria claims to be just as surprised as
Katherine is as David and Nikki come in. David wants to make an
appointment to discuss fund raising with Katherine, she says how about
now, but he wants to do it later.
Now Victor is trying to convince Sabrina to show people what she's
made of. Hold her head high. Go to the luncheon. Sabrina doesn't want
to go; she's not strong.
When Jana says she hopes that Amber and Daniel will kiss and make up,
Kevin instructs her to stay out of it. Meantime, Amber is thanking
Daniel for sticking up for her with Phyllis. Sadly, when Daniel says
it doesn't change anything, Amber starts bawling again.
Inserting himself into the luncheon meeting where Nikki, Victoria,
Katherine, Sharon and Phyllis have gathered, Brad says he's doesn't
believe a word of the article as Phyllis asks Sharon if she knew about
the article. Sharon said she didn't know beforehand as a smiling
Sabrina walks in with Victor as backup.
On the phone, Jack is learning that sales have doubled on the East
Coast and could sell out. Hanging up, there's someone at the door.
It's Nick!
Show #8939 - 07.17.08
- Director: Dean LaMont
In the
magazine elevator going up, Amber makes note of all the reporters
gathered outside the building and wonders if Daniel can believe what
Jack did. Getting off the elevator, the phones are ringing and she
starts fielding calls from reporters and readers.
The charity ball luncheon still in progress, Victor pulls Sharon and
Phyllis aside to say that once he's through with their magazine there
will be nothing left of it. And oh yeah, Jack is a slime.
At home, Jack welcomes Nick who rips into him about "crossing the
line", that he's sick of it, and wants Jack out of RSM.
With Lily at the coffee shop, Colleen whines about what Chloe did and
when Chloe comes in says she's not welcome there and for Chloe to get
out; leave town. Too bad, Chloe says she's staying in Genoa City
forever.
Meanwhile, Jana wonders if Kevin believes what was written in the
article and how could the Professor have done it? The same way he had
sex with Amber, Kevin sneers. Jana is stunned. The Professor and
Amber? Really? Colleen overheard the sex part as Paul and J.T. walk in
to discuss David. Anything new? Paul says no as he sees David and goes
over to learn that David is there to meet with his sponsor. Paul wants
to know how step-daughter Nina is doing. How would David know? He's
hasn't spoken with Nina in years. That's news to Paul. He was under
the impression that David recently spoke with Nina. Oh, that's right.
David says he tried calling Nina. It was part of his 12-step program
to make amends. He left a message, but Nina never called back. Then
David wouldn't know that Nina was found dead of an overdose. No, he
wouldn't. David is shocked, and he asks Paul to relay his condolences
to the family. Reporting back to J.T., Paul says that Nina's date book
tells a different story. David is lying.
As Lily and Colleen and now Cane talk about Amber and Daniel, Kevin is
on his computer when Jana says there's something strange in the air
requiring a consult with the Ouija board.
Katherine is proud of Sabrina. Most people would be hiding out, but
not Sabrina, who says she's trying to stay composed for the sake of
her baby and the gala.
With Victor on her back, Victoria claims she had no idea what Jack was
going to do, and she's not so sure it was a hack job. But she did try
to warn Victor. When Nikki butts in, Victor tells her to take a look
at the loser she's married to before judging others.
Nick wants to buy Jack out. Jack laughed. With what? Nick doesn't have
any money, and he's no different than Victor trying to pass himself
off as all high and morally righteous. Besides, hasn't Nick seen the
numbers? Sales are up because Jack was willing to do the dirty work.
Nick needs to stop feeling sorry for his step-mommy.
Amber needs
Daniel's help. There are so many calls about the article. What should
she say? Daniel told her to say no like she should have told the
Professor. Just then Colleen storms in to ask if Amber doesn't get
tired of being a slut. When Colleen adds that she knows about Amber
and the Professor, Amber says she didn't do anything the Professor
didn't want to do. Fuming now, Colleen calls Amber "selfish trash" and
they get into a mini-cat fight which Daniel had to break up.
Jack wants Nick to let it go. Sabrina is a Newman now. She should
expect scandal. Nick fires back that Jack wanted to start a war
between the Newmans. That's why Jack went along with Victoria on the
cover. Jack better beware; this is far from over.
Stopping to chat with Katherine, when she says that David will treat
Sabrina well, that David is the charity money man, Victor can't
believe his ears. He confronts Nikki. What the hell is she thinking?
Doesn't she want to avoid the fate of David's dead step-daughter?
Nikki doesn't care what Victor thinks and as he walks away Victor
orders his driver to pick him up. He's going to the Abbott mansion.
Sitting in the elevator with Daniel, Colleen whines that the Professor
turned on her and isn't much better than that skank, Amber. Daniel
didn't like that word. Please don't call Amber a skank. Meanwhile,
Chloe has arrived and Amber is showing her around. Wouldn't Chloe like
working here? She would.
As Cane and Lily chit-chat, Jana whips out the Ouija board. Will Amber
and Daniel hookup again? Will the universe send them a message?
J.T. and Paul talk about tracing David's phone calls but they don't
have anything "concrete" on him. J.T. nevertheless thinks that Nikki
could be in danger, and Paul says not if he can help it.
After giving
Sharon grief for what Jack did, Phyllis said she's putting the
original Sabrina article on RSM's website, while at home Jack isn't
surprised to see Victor who warns that he will tie Jack up in court so
long he'll lose millions. And don't forget who holds the lease on the
RSM building. Jack laughs, so he'll find another building. As a
"journalist" Jack says he had a responsibility to print the truth. Now
it's Victor's turn to laugh. Jack? A journalist? His father would be
ashamed. Jack response is that Victor didn't know his father. Victor
fires back that he knew enough. Old man Abbott was the honorable man
Jack will never be. Okay, Jack's heard enough. "Get out!"
Amber and
Chloe realize they have a lot in common. Amber was married to Cane,
Chloe slept with Cane, they must compare notes some time.
Kevin thinks Jana cheated at Ouija. To determine if the board is
telling the truth they'll ask a new question: Will Lily and Cane find
eternal happiness? What is that? Why is the pointer moving toward the
word 'goodbye'?
Paul reports to J.T. in super sleuth language that he has a "shadow"
on Nikki. In other words, he's having her followed. And after hearing
David talking to someone on the phone, Paul follows him out.
Having seen the confrontation between Nikki and Victor, Sabrina went
over to tell Nikki she's sorry if she's caused a rift only to be told
that not everything that goes on between Nikki and Victor is about
her. All Sabrina seems to know is that Victor cares about his family -
and Nikki - and that Nikki should listen to what Victor has to say.
The Ouija board is apparently predicating a tragedy and Jana is
freaked. Kevin says it's just a stinking piece of wood and for Jana to
stop asking for trouble.
After the $4 tour, Amber introduces Chloe to the RSM crew. Chloe is
leaving Jabot, and if they're smart, Jack, et al, should hire her. And
hire her they do.
After checking to see if David has been tapping into her bank
accounts, (he isn't) Nikki greets David with open arms - and an
envelope. She bought them a brand new house! Nikki knows the truth
about David and doesn't care what other people are saying, or
apparently that Paul is eavesdropping so that when Victor returns he
can tell, which he does.
With Sabrina now at the ranch, Katherine is oozing with respect.
Sabrina can see now why Victor considers Katherine such a dear friend.
As Daniel writes his phone number on Colleen's hand, Nick reports that
the latest issue of RSM has sold out in all major markets. Plus
there's more good news as Victoria reports that the CBS Early Show
wants to interview her! Nick also told Phyllis that he's going to find
a way to get rid of Jack as Jack was telling Sharon that soon he'll be
running the RSM show all by himself.
Show #8940 - 07.18.08
- Director: Andy Lee
At RSM the
phones are ringing and people are talking on them as Nick grumbles
about the Newman War scandal that Jack created. Phyllis complains that
the website may crash because it's getting too many hits from people
interested in the Sabrina article. Jack boasts that the new issue is
selling out, that more must be printed, but Nick isn't so quick to
order more.
Out at that ranch, Sabrina is trying to write a letter to Victoria.
Victor wonders if it's in response to the article. Of course, it is
and Sabrina frets. She can't understand why Victoria would say such
horrible things about her. Reading the letter, Victor mumbles about
contacting some real journalists in order to straighten things out.
Sabrina asks if this is the way it's going to be for their family.
Yes, Victor says it is.
With Nikki at Jabot, David says he thought the home she bought was
going to be a small one; not a multi-million dollar estate. Ah, Nikki
says he's worth it; the estate is an investment in their future.
At the coffee shop, Paul informs J.T. that he got a letter from
David's ex-step-daughter written on the day she died.
Over at Indigo, Neil is telling Karen that he's got to check with Tyra
because the coming weekend will be Tyra's first as manager. Tyra says
she's got things under control, and so Neil reports this to Karen
adding that Tyra also organized his pantry at home and now he can find
the soup! Playing her part as Neil's yes-woman, Karen's happy too with
the obviously "competent" Tyra as Neil adds that now he can spend more
time with Karen.
Jack isn't getting why Nick isn't happy. If Nick likes, Jack will buy
him out. "You wish!" Nick snorts. Meantime, Sharon and Phyllis are
arguing when Victoria appears to charge Jack with taking her words out
of context. Well, they were her words, says Jack.
Victor wants damage control put in place immediately. Maybe he and
Sabrina could announce something happy, like their baby. If Sabrina
doesn't want that, and she doesn't, Victor will order the jet readied
and they'll fly away. Can't do that either, Sabrina's got a meeting
with Jana. Besides, Sabrina says she doesn't care what people think
about her.
After looking at the magazine, Victor calls Michael. Has he read the
article? Sort of, Lauren read him excerpts. Victor then orders Michael
to slap the magazine with a law suit. Michael will be right over. With
Adam there now reporting that he's in the process of having all Newman
ads pulled from RSM, he mentions of being unable to reach the
Professor. "Once I get a hold of that pipsqueak there will be nothing
left of him," Victor tells Adam in addition to his contention that by
the end of the day there will be nothing left of RSM. One more thing,
Victor wants Adam to call everyone with ads running in the magazine
and have them pull their ads too.
When Sabrina
arrived at the coffee shop, Jana was surprised to see she showed up,
but good for her for holding her head high. Before talking about the
gala, Sabrina enlists Jana's help to get a painting Victor has had his
eye on. Out of nowhere a reporter hits Sabrina will a few questions
about the article. Is she still in love with Philippe? Jana cuts the
guy off and tells him to get out or she'll call the cops. What she
didn't see, or Sabrina, was the stranger watching all this.
Now Phyllis and Jack are arguing. When Phyllis speaks up for Sharon,
Sharon says she can speak for herself and leaves as Phyllis asks if
Jack didn't think about the fallout. Not to worry, Jack says what he
did is protected by the First Amendment and he's not worried about
Victor, who Phyllis says is all Jack cares about beating same as it's
always been.
Victor wants Michael to bury RSM in legal fees. Michael is concerned
what that might do to Nick, who Victor says is his son in name only.
Sending Michael into the study to find all the uncrossed tees and
un-dotted eyes in the article, Victor gives Adam the go ahead to bury
David too.
In the letter, Nina wrote that she'd prove David killed her mother or
die trying. Since the letter was mailed locally, Paul assumes David
got it on the day Nina died. It's a statement which J.T. parrots as if
he didn't hear Paul.
Nikki's excited. They'll be taking possession on the house soon.
Because this is "a major turning point" in their marriage, David takes
a picture of them with his cellphone.
Back at the Indigo, more meaningless chit-chat between Devon and
Roxanne about Ana and Tyra. See what a great mother Tyra is to Ana?
Adam is on it. Ads are being pulled as Michael comes out to say he's
got "fact checkers" checking the article. Saying he done good, Victor
dismisses a "thank you sir" Adam and then tells Michael he wants to
change his will. Those two kids "really, really, really betrayed me."
Michael wants him to think about it. He already thought. Take those
two kids out of the will!
With the stranger still watching, Nick comes into the coffee shop to
tell Sabrina how sorry he is. Sabrina doesn't want to hear it. Nick
set out to destroy Victor. As she leaves the stranger follows and Jana
jumps on Nick. He better be prepared to reap the consequences.
Running into
Victoria at the AC, Sabrina says she's sorry, but why did Victoria say
those awful things? "No you're not," Victoria sneers as the stranger
starts taking pictures and neither woman notices. Victoria went on to
say that she didn't say any of those things to the professor. And here
all this time Sabrina thought that Victoria's attendance at the
wedding meant they were becoming pals again. Friends? Does Sabrina
have any idea what her friends in Paris are saying? Sabrina lied from
the moment she set foot in Genoa City. Well, it's clear to Sabrina now
that Victoria and her brother can't stand seeing Victor happy.
Entering the coffee shop, Adam has a brief chat with Jana who asked if
Victor trusts Sabrina, who Jana says would never do what it's written
she did. When Adam moves along Jana has a need to consult the Ouija
board. How long with Victor and Sabrina be together? The pointer
moves. Goodbye!
After reporting that he's fixed the system so that articles can't be
changed without approval, Phyllis informs Nick that the tech guys are
working on the website and questions whether there will be another
issue. Nick told her to what Sabrina said to him and that he's off to
meet with his banker to discuss getting rid of Jack.
At home, Jack is calling out for Sharon when he gets a call. Yes, more
magazines are being printed and shipped. Sharon is overhearing this
and when he hangs up they get into it about Jack's lies. Jack swears
he's trying to change, but Sharon understands that this is who Jack
is. Bawling, Sharon wonders what kind of a marriage they have.
With her mother at Jabot, Victoria says it's all Jack's fault and she
doesn't know if Victor knows. Nikki wants her kids out of the line of
fire, and then tells how she bought an estate. Victoria flipped. Is
Nikki crazy? Not to worry, Nikki put the home in both her and David's
name. She did it because David needs to know she believes in him.
In a rush to get over to Indigo where he's got to check the alarm
system, Paul told J.T. that he'll stay behind and keep looking for
clues. With J.T. gone, David comes in, Paul badgers him about
gambling, and David says he's done gambling. Paul can bet on it.
Meeting with his banker was a waste of time. Now what do they do? Take
Jack up on his offer? Nick and Phyllis made a pact. They will fight to
the bitter end at which it'll be Jack who leaves the magazine.
The will fixed, Victor let's it be known that Nick and Victoria won't
get a penny when the doorbell rings and in come two men in dark suits
to witness Victor's signature.
Back at the Indigo, just as J.T. arrives, Ana sings a song. This one's
about Ana singing because she's "happy" and "free." A short song, the
crowd nevertheless goes wild with applause. J.T. is amazed as he's
introduced to Tyra and Ana.
Adam is calling Skye. Why hasn't she returned his calls? After leaving
another message for Skye, Sabrina comes in to ask if at least one of
Victor's children don't hold her in contempt. Informing her that he's
got all Newman ads pulled from RSM, Adam wants Sabrina to tell him
what really happened.
With Sharon under Jack's thumb again, she wants to celebrate another
successful issue of RSM. No! Jack wants to celebrate Sharon without
whom he says the magazine would be nothing.
Going home to the ranch, Nick is summoned to the main house and told
by Victor to pack his stuff up and get off the property!
Still unable to comprehend what mother is doing, Nikki tells Victoria
not to worry. She's fixed it so that David can't borrow against the
house. At the same time David is getting a call from Walter. No, no.
Things have changed. David can't do that "job".
Paul is looking at his computer when something jumps off the screen.
He calls J.T. "We got a break!" The break is that Paul found what
David's real name is.
