Show #8941 - 07.21.08
- Director: Sally McDonald
A new day in
Genoa City, it's Cane's lucky day because Jill canceled a Fresh Faces
meeting with Lily and so Lily can go with him to meet with a realtor
from whom he's thinking about buying a house. It's a good thing he
asked Lily to come along because she says a man should never buy a
house without first obtaining a woman's opinion.
Chloe's first day on her new job and all the big wigs are out of the
office as Amber brings her up to speed on the article scandal. Daniel
arrives, meets Chloe, says he's RSM's photographer and is looking
forward to working with her. As Daniel goes off, Amber remarks to
Chloe that Daniel won't even speak to her. Chloe says not to worry,
she's got a plan to fix that.
Having seen the new house, David loves it. It's the best present Nikki
could have ever given him and she says it's the start of new
beginnings. Also at the AC, J.T. is raving to Victoria about the new
girl at the Indigo who has a voice "that will blow you away". In fact,
J.T.'s on his way over there as soon as he takes a call from Paul who
says he's yet to confirm that David's real name is Angelo, but that
his New Jersey contact is working on it. Paul has also learned that
Walter's name is really Tony Amato and he's got a photograph of them
together. By the way, could J.T. come over to the coffee shop. He
could, but first he's got to stop by the Indigo.
At Indigo, Ana is asking Neil what different types of booze taste
like. Lighter fluid? Ana will stick to soda pop. Tyra comes over to
ask if Ana doesn't have some "summer reading" to do, and as Ana
scurries off in comes Nikki, Victoria and J.T. pushing the baby buggy.
No sooner had they sat down but what Neil was telling them that Ana
will be singing at the Charity Gala which he says is held every year
and then introduces Tyra to the group.
Out at the ranch, the first ultrasound pictures of Sabrina's baby are
in. Victor can already tell that the baby has Sabrina's nose. Looking
forward to focusing on their future, Sabrina says the scandal will be
forgotten by this time next week. Needing to make a call, Victor goes
off to talk to the CEO of some company he wants to pull its ads from
RSM. "I have my reasons," Victor says without being specific and
promises the CEO that he will be "well compensated" and that three
other companies have pulled their ads too.
Receiving their first assignment, Daniel is excited to learn that
he'll be photographing hot babes.
At the house,
Lily is wearing high heels and a short dress. She's amazed that the
house has a game room, a shower in the master bedroom, and a backyard
suitable for parties. Cane notes that there's something missing,
however. What could it be? Of course, it's Lily! Will she move in with
him? By living together they would be helping to save the environment.
Of course, Cane wouldn't want Lily to leave the campus house if it
meant making Devon unhappy. When Lily says, "I'm so very ready," Cane
announces that he already bought the house. "For me?", Lily adds.
Trying to work Amber into their conversation, Chloe is shut down when
Daniel says he knows what she's trying to do and it won't work. Later,
Amber tells Chloe she knew it was hopeless, but Chloe says Amber
should never give up.
Sent away to watch the baby so that the adults can talk, Ana sings
Reed a song which sounds like all the other songs she's sung.
Meantime, Victoria can sense that there's something bothering J.T.
There is, but J.T. says he can't talk about it.
Checking with contact "Chuck", Paul writes on a legal pad that David
and Angelo are one in the same.
Arriving at the AC, Victoria and Sabrina are looking again at the
ultrasound photos. She's excited that in a few shorts months the baby
will arrive and what a guy the daddy is. Victor is so powerful there's
nothing he can't control. Also there too, J.T. and Victoria push the
buggy in, Victor notes that Reed has a lot of Newman in him, and
Victoria tells Nikki about having Ana sing at the gala.
Now Ana is wondering what the word 'shenanigans' means. Tyra seems
shocked. Where did Ana pick that word up? From a magazine? Oh lord,
Neil says Ana reminds him of when Lily was that age and he can't
believe that Lily is now 21.
A few words with Hillary the realtor, the house deal is done, and Lily
is already "mentally decorating" the place. Cane wants a black leather
sofa and flat screen TV. Lily's okay with the TV, but no way will she
have a black sofa. Not that it matters, Cane says she can paint the
place pink if she wants and this makes Lily so happy.
With J.T. on his way to see Paul, and Victoria obtaining Sabrina's
okay on Ana, Victor calls Victoria aside to say that her behavior, and
Nick's, has upset him so that as of last night both kids have been
written out of the will.
Back with Paul, J.T. learns that David has been in trouble with the
law since age eleven. Paul's certain that David is running from
something, but must wait before telling Nikki.
Victoria ran
to Nikki who pleaded with Victor not to cut the kids out because he's
"sending a terrible message." Victor hopes they get the message, and
adds that he told Nick to move off the ranch. When Nikki persists, he
says that if she's so concerned she can provide for those ungrateful
children and leaves.
The last person he wanted to see, David runs into Walter. People are
expecting David to produce results. David would rather pay in cash now
that he can access Nikki's money, which he says he can and shouldn't
have to do Walter's "job". Walter says David has no choice in the
matter.
At the AC sketching a likeness of Amber, Sabrina comes over to tell
Daniel that he's so good she wants to send his work to a friend who
runs a gallery in New York! "Why are you being so nice to me?" Daniel
wonders. Because, Sabrina thinks talent should be rewarded.
Now at the coffee shop, when Nikki goes over to Paul's table she sees
the legal pad and has a fit. Didn't she ask Paul not to investigate
her husband? Did Victor put him up to this? Ignoring her, Paul says
David changed his name years ago, and again Nikki tells him to stop
investigating David.
Whining to J.T. now, Victoria tells how daddy cut her and Nick out of
the will, but not Reed. "He doesn't know the first thing about being a
dad," J.T. spews.
Neil is proud of Tyra. She's a great mom. It must be hard being a
single mom. Tyra says she's been doing it since Ana's father died when
she was two and thanks him for the job and all he's done. Neil says
"it's all about family" as Cane appears needing to speak with him on a
matter of great importance.
At the ranch, it's Daniel with more drawings which Sabrina says she'll
send to New York. She wants Victor to look. See how great? Victor
snorts and goes off leaving Daniel to tell Sabrina that for her
wedding present he wants to sketch her. Sabrina's got a better idea.
The present will be hers to give Victor.
Now at the coffee shop, Lily tells Colleen about the house and that
Cane asked her to move in. She wants to, but how will old-fashioned
Neil react? Also there, Amber and Chloe are rehashing how Amber can
get Daniel back.
Showing Neil a ring, Cane asked for his blessing and got it. Neil
hopes this time Lily will say yes.
With Daniel gone, Victor informs Sabrina about some changes to his
will, and reminds her that he's a wealthy man. While he's planning to
live to be 100, she needs to be prepared in the event he can't control
life and death. All his children and grandchildren will be will
provided for except Nick and Victoria. Sabrina can't believe what
she's hearing. Did he cut the kids out because of her? Not really.
Nobody disrespects Victor and gets away with it.
After another phone call, Paul reports to J.T. that Amato and
Serafino grew up together and that Amato is wanted by the FBI for
racketeering and murder.
Meanwhile, Nikki has David cornered. "Who is Angelo Serafino?"
Show #8942 - 07.22.08
- Director: Jim Sayech
Back from
Korea, at the AC, Jeff is thanking one of the employees for keeping
his briefcase safe after which Gloria comes along to ask where the
tainted skin cream is. Jeff says he couldn't locate his Korean
girlfriend and thus doesn't have the cream.
Also there, Nikki wants to know from David who Angelo is. David admits
it's his real name and that he's been lying to her.
Appearing at the main house, Nick gives Victor the key to the
tackyroom and complains that Victor is punishing him. But it's not him
Nick is worried about. It's Summer, who Nick says Victor is taking
away the only home his granddaughter has ever known. How can Victor be
so heartless? How? Victor told him how. He's given him everything; but
no more.
Gloria wants Jeff to go back to Korea and keep looking. They need that
cream in order to buy up Jabot stock. Not so, says Jeff, adding that
they don't need Michael either.
David grew up in a bad neighborhood. He got involved with petty crime
and changed his name to get a new start. Nikki wonders how she can
believe that he's not lying. Isn't this just another lie now that he's
been caught lying again?
At Jabot, Brad tells Jill that David has a gambling problem and has
lost tons of money. Worried what will happen if word gets around, Jill
wants to handle the matter internally. Shareholders might jump ship if
they knew Jabot employs such unsavory characters. Jill also wants more
evidence as Heather comes to fetch Ji Min's personal effects which
Jill brought to the office. With the effects, Heather says she can
better learn what kind of man Ji Min was. She adds that there's a
killer still out there and she intends to find out who it is.
With Phyllis and a newly aged Summer, Nick informs Phyllis that
they're moving. He didn't tell Victor that it was Jack responsible for
that article about Sabrina. Phyllis thinks Victor should know. No,
Nick won't be the one to tell him. Victor called him a leech.
Meanwhile, Victor is informing Sabrina that Nick came by to turn in
his key. Victor has decided that Nick won't be allowed on the ranch at
all, or to set foot on any of his properties. Sabrina is stunned. Is
Victor doing this because of the article? No, Victor says he's simply
tired of his children showing so much disrespect. In fact, Nick once
wanted to have his own father locked up. Be that as it may, Sabrina
still doesn't want Victor shutting the kids out. Victor's mind is made
up. He's given those kids everything; they "utterly" disrespected his
wife. While she appreciates that Victor is trying to protect her,
Sabrina wants him to find another way to deal with the kids.
Phyllis wants Nick to eat. He's not hungry! He's better off out of
Victor's life. Phyllis pushes Nick to admit that being disowned by his
father is killing him.
With Heather,
telling her he suspects David may be giving away Jabot secrets, Brad
wants her to get David's phone records, as David is telling Nikki that
he was raised in poverty; his life was a living hell; his father was a
deadbeat dad and his mother an alcoholic. If he hadn't got out of the
hood when he did, David says he might have been enlisted into the Mob
and that's why he lied; to protect Nikki from his past.
Still sitting around the coffee shop, Paul reports to J.T. that Tony
Amanto is in deep with the Mob. J.T. says it would be nice if they had
photos.
When David asked for a "second chance", Nikki said that's it. It's
over!
Curious, and having seen her with Brad, Adam asked Heather what's up
with David Chow? She claims not to know, and even if she did wouldn't
tell him. Okay, how would Heather like to go to the Charity Ball with
him?
Saying that he made a stop in the Cayman Islands on his way back from
Korea, Jeff says he set up an off-shore account for Gloria who
suspects there's something he's not telling her. But she's distracted
by the conclusion that now they'll be able to buy up Jabot stock which
Jeff says they will and nobody will figure it out in a million years.
Victor can't believe how unforgiving Sabrina is. She's worried that
he'll shut their child out too and persists by saying that Nick is a
part of Victor and that he'll always care about Nick who she's sure
Victor sang to as a baby. Victor is set in his ways. Nick betrayed
him. No, Sabrina says it's Victor betraying Nick and urges him not to
do something he'll regret.
As Nick packs, Phyllis says that Summer is "down for the count". Nick
wonders if she's checked the ads for places they can move. She doesn't
want to move. Nick has "years and years" of memories at the ranch. Why
yes, he does, including the memory of when he was riding a bike with
training wheels. He asked Victor to take the wheels off, but Victor
wouldn't do it. But when Victor finally gave in, Nick says that was a
time when Victor was "proud" of him. Phyllis wants to go talk to
Victor. No, Nick says Victor is a lost cause and that he's been riding
daddy's coattails for too long. Not so, adds Phyllis, who says Nick
"worked hard" to get where he is today and that Nick will never be
free of Victor.
After looking out the window, Victor tells Sabrina how lucky he is to
have been given "a second chance" at fatherhood. He's also concluded
that family is the most important thing. So then, will he reach out to
the family he already has as Sabrina wants?
With Brad looking over David's phone records, Jill calls a number and
saying she's David's friend, wants to place a bet. Whoever she spoke
with - Brad assumed it was David's bookie - the man told Jill being
David's friend she can bet as much as she wants.
Still at
Jabot, Adam is on the phone by the elevator asking someone for
information on David when Nikki strolls off the elevator and hearing
him, Adam says he was talking to himself. Running into Heather too,
Nikki told her to think twice if whatever she's getting involved in
has anything to do with a Newman. With Nikki gone, Heather looks at a
photo of Ji Min. In the background, who's that? It's Walter!
At the same time, Paul's operative in the field, Bobby is at the
coffee shop with a photo of Walter who Bobby says is a real bad dude.
In Nikki's office, David impresses upon Nikki the need to keep up
appearances for Jabot's sake.
Gloria is impressed with Jeff's cleverness. He notes that getting
control of Jabot will be easier than they thought.
If she doesn't want to do it for Jabot, David tells Nikki to do it for
the gala. Tongues would wag if it was found out that Jabot's CEO's
have split. Okay, Nikki says that's fine with her. But after the gala
she's filing for divorce.
Leaving the ranch to take care of some gala errands, Sabrina told
Victor to do the right thing. Then Adam appeared to tell Victor that
Brad and Jill are digging into David's past; information Victor said
would be useful.
Phyllis would like to find a loft near the magazine. Nick would like a
place with a yard for Summer. Phyllis says there are plenty of parks
nearby any loft they might move into, but all Nick can say is, "Home
is where you and Summer are."
While Gloria was off confirming the Cayman Islands deal, Jeff was
looking in his briefcase. There only one item in it. Can you guess
what it is?
Jill orders Heather to pull David's contracts and specifically told
her to put them in the top, right hand drawer of her desk. Then she
told Brad that Nikki should never have married David, but since she
did it will be easier to get rid of both of them.
David is on his phone to a guy named Leo who he wants to score some
"dreamer". Liquid, David wants the morphine tonight and doesn't care
how much it'll cost.
Finding Sabrina who says she's running some gala tasks, Adam is
shocked by her request that he talk to Victor about cutting the kids
out of the will. Adam won't do it, so she sneers that he won't because
it'll mean more money for him.
Walking down to the tacky room with hat in hand, Victor says he's
changed his mind; Nick can stay. Too late, Nick says he doesn't want
to stay; he's moving. Okay, have it your way, says Victor as he
leaves.
Show #8943 - 07.23.08
- Director: Grant Johnson
It's getting
late as Amber and Chloe compare notes at the coffee shop on Daniel and
Cane until Chloe says she's got to go pee. Seems she's peeing every
twenty minutes and she'd not even bulimic.
Also there with Ana, Devon is putting a ROOMMATE WANTED sign on the
wall when Chloe comes over to ask if Lily is moving out now that Cane
has bought her a house. Devon says it's none of her business.
At their new home, Cane and Lily are moving stuff in and Lily can't
believe that they're living together. Cane wants to have sex, Lily
complains that they don't have a mattress, but it doesn't matter as
Cane takes her off to the bedroom.
With Victor at the Colonnade Room, Sabrina wants to know if Victor
spoke with Nick. He did, but Nick wants to leave anyway. So, how about
dinner later? Maybe. Sabrina's a busy little beaver right now trying
to get the gala going. Also there, David wants to make sure that Nikki
is keeping her promise to keep up appearances until the gala is over.
Meantime, seeing Victor, Victoria jumps all over him for throwing Nick
off the ranch. Victor had to explain again that he's sick and tired of
his bratty kids, that he changed his mind about Nick, and wants
Victoria to convince Nick to stay.
When Victoria gets snotty, Victor goes on to say he's had just about
enough disrespect for one day. But that doesn't stop her from saying,
"Excuse me if I'm not grateful" and then blames Sabrina for
everything. Victor says no, it's not Sabrina's fault, it's Victoria's
just as Nikki butts in to say that Victor has been "a terrible
father." Outraged, Victor fires back. Who is Nikki to judge
considering she's still with that "loser" husband. Finally, Katherine
comes along to ask that they all be civil.
Noticing that Amber and Chloe are hitting it off, Jana listens as
Amber rambles on about Daniel not giving her the time of day and how
she'd be better off quitting her job and leaving town.
At the magazine, when they were supposed to have been playing ball but
didn't, Kevin wonders how long Daniel will be "working the graveyard
shift" to avoid Amber. That's when Daniel says too that he might leave
Genoa City.
Moving his office from the coffee shop to the AC at Victor's request,
Paul is talking on the phone with another of his many operatives in
the field. Andy has told him about David's connections with the Mob
and an FBI contact will arrange for Paul to speak with an informant
for more information.
Meanwhile, David is calling the drug dealer. Where's that morphine!
Hanging up, David finds Walter is there now and there's a job David
needs to do.
Confronting
Nikki again, Victor asked where she gets off? Has she forgotten when
she was so drunk she didn't know her name? What the hell is she doing
with that "loser" who is endangering their family? When Victor's done
with Nikki, Victoria comes over to lick the wounds and that's when
Nikki says she's leaving David after the gala.
Kevin says it would be "weird" not having Daniel around. Is he sure he
wants to give up on Amber? Meantime, Jana is suggesting that Amber
consult the Ouija board. But Amber's got a better idea.
Concluding his call with the informant, Paul tells J.T. that he's
pretty sure David is a hit man for the Mob.
David's trying to convince Walter to find someone else for the job;
he's got a hit of own to carry out. Please Walter, tell the boss that
David has always been loyal. Walter won't budge and when David leaves
calls his people to say that David has become a liability and
something must be done about it.
Nikki goes on to tell Victoria that David isn't David's real name.
Victoria isn't surprised, but Nikki is doing the right thing to dump
him; but why wait? Nikki says she fears the "negative" press. She
doesn't want Victoria to tell anyone not even J.T. As much as Victoria
says she hates keeping secrets from J.T., she agreed to keep quiet.
Katherine can't believe all the hostility and wants Sabrina to promise
she'll get some rest after the gala. Sabrina says she'd like to, but
there's so much to do at the gallery, etc. With Victor at her side
again, Sabrina suggests that he go without her and she'll join him
later for dinner. And then she suggests they go to Paris after the
gala.
In the new home, after the deed was apparently done, Lily is looking
at a vase. Is it special? Sort of. It's a vase she got as a wedding
gift when she was married to Daniel. Cane wants to know if the vase
contains good memories. Sort of, considering how the marriage ended.
But that won't happen to them, will it? Cane says he's not Daniel.
"Nothing will ever change between us."
Chloe is calling a realtor she knows hoping to find out where the
house is that Cane bought.
Devon assures Ana that he'll find a good roommate as Ana says she's
not so sure she wants to sing at the gala. The Indigo is okay because
it's small. The gala is much too huge, however.
Now it just so
happened that Daniel was listening to the radio this night when he
heard Amber calling into the Love Line hosted by Dr. Drew telling how
she and Daniel broke up. Not wanting Amber's side of the story to be
the only one, Daniel picks up the phone, dials, and gets right in.
When Victor joined Paul, he learned that David is close to the Mob,
but Paul isn't sure what his position is on the ladder. So, could
Nikki be in danger? Paul's not sure.
Amber called into the show as "Marina" and Daniel called in as "Herb".
After a long drawn out we had sex on the "stolen you know what" and
other assorted sordid details, Dr. Drew told them not to get back
together.
More of David and the Mob as Paul says there's not enough proof to
take to Nikki although J.T. thinks they should tell her what they do
know. Paul says no; it might put Nikki in danger. Saying he's going to
Paris, Victor wants the threat removed chop-chop. But Paul fears that
any attempt to save Nikki could cause her death.
A photographer milling around the Colonnade Room, Nikki and David pose
for a photo. Afterwards, Katherine wonders if there's something Nikki
isn't telling her. After the gala, Nikki says she'll tell. Meanwhile,
David is having a flashback to when Nikki told him it's over when he
gets a call. The morphine is ready.
Pleased with what they've done, Sabrina tells Victoria that they still
must have something in common. "How stupid do you think I am?"
Victoria hissed. All Sabrina wants is for them to stop fighting, but
Victoria won't let it go. She says they will never be friends again,
that Sabrina is sleeping in her father's bed, and that Sabrina has
taken her fortune! Taken aback, Sabrina lashes out; she's the victim!
It's Victoria who is the "spoiled little brat", that she finally sees
Victoria for who she really is, and never wants to deal with her
again.
Also there now, Devon and Ana are by the grand piano. Ana wonders if
Devon can sing, what with his new ear and all. Devon says he can sing
which Ana finds totally amazing. Would he like to sing in front of
people?
More of the Love Line with Dr. Drew saying this time that Herb and
Marina deserve each other and Daniel telling Kevin that he wants to
move to Los Angeles.
With their orange sofa and big screen TV delivered, Lily goes off to
get a tape measure giving Cane the opportunity to look at the ring as
outside Chloe is peeking through the window.
It's decided that Devon and Ana will sing at the gala. All they need
is Katherine's approval and Katherine gives it before telling Sabrina
and Victoria again that they must get along with each other for the
gala's sake.
Promising to keep what he knows a secret, Paul informs J.T. that he'll
be working "around the clock" as elsewhere a dealer is giving David
the morphine and goes off as Nikki comes along so that David can
suggest that they drive together to the gala tomorrow night and Nikki
agrees all while Walter is lurking in the shadows.
Show #8944 - 07.24.08
- Director: Andy Lee
Exterior sequences directed by Anthony Morina
It's the night
of the Charity Gala! At their new home, Lily and Cane are making small
talk. Did she take too long in the shower? No, but Cane would like to
join her next time. Is she worried about Chloe? No, Lily doesn't think
there's anything Chloe can do that would bother them.
At the magazine, Jack and Sharon are getting ready to leave for the
gala when Phyllis and Nick suggest that he not go because they don't
want any scenes in front of all those people. A perky Sharon reports
that the East Coast needs more copies of the magazine which would make
a third run which must be ordered tonight. Amber says she'll do the
job as she's not going to the gala for fear of running into Daniel.
With Kevin at the coffee shop, Daniel says he's not going to the gala
for fear of running into Amber. But when Kevin says with Jana working
the gala, and his need for someone to hang with, Daniel has second
thoughts.
Also there, Heather arrives to give Paul the box of Ji Min's personal
effects on her way to the gala. Paul says he's not going as he has
something "personal" he's working on.
On their way to the gala, as Nikki complains about having to pretend
that everything is okay, David suggests that they stay at the AC for
awhile to talk about how they might make the marriage work. Maybe have
a few drinks too. Nikki's not interested. She wants to go and get it
over.
Out at the ranch, Victor notices that Sabrina looks nervous and to
calm her down presents her with a pair of blue topaz earrings. Topaz,
because it's the December stone which will be the month their baby is
born. He also plans to make the announcement public soon. Sabrina
fears that when he does Victoria and Nick will be devastated.
At the AC, Gloria is glowing. She's about to become rich and famous
and when she has control of Jabot she'll make Jill her receptionist.
Gloria is also trying to convince Jeff to attend the gala because as a
Jabot executive she's expected to make an appearance.
In a flash,
Sabrina and Victor are at the gala and the first person he runs into
is Katherine whom he tells that the announcement of Sabrina's
pregnancy will be made tomorrow, and that Victoria is a great
disappointment to him. So, with his becoming a new father, will Victor
be a better one this time? Victor told Katherine it's not him who has
failed his children, it's his children who have failed him.
Nikki comes along to thank Victor for the huge donation he made to the
charity. Surly, Victor says he didn't do it for her. Meanwhile, with
David there too, J.T. mentions that he heard David raised lots of
money as David goes off giving Nikki a chance to ask Victoria if she
told J.T. about ending her marriage. Victoria says no, J.T. already
knew about David's gambling problem.
Arriving alone, Cane says Lily will be along as Jill trashes Amber and
Katherine defends Amber who arrives with Chloe followed by Daniel,
Kevin, Adam and Heather. Pulling Adam aside, Victor instructs him to
cancel plans for tomorrow and be at the ranch for an announcement.
Adam also reports that he called the Financial News Network and leaked
the story about David's gambling problem. The story will air on
tonight's news.
Looking through the box, Paul finds a newspaper clipping of Walter
with Ji Min.
Arriving at the gala with Jack, Sharon is all abuzz. Other guests have
already asked her how they can get copies of the magazine's latest
issue. Phyllis, Nick, Michael and Lauren are milling about and having
chit-chat as Daniel keeps peeking at Amber. Getting Nikki alone,
Katherine asks if she wants to chair next year's gala. Oh heavens,
it's much too soon to ask Nikki to plan that far ahead. Who knows? She
might be dead by then.
Eyeballing David, Victor quips to J.T. that David is still free. J.T.
says yeah, but Paul is working on it. Well, he better get a move on
because Nikki is in grave danger. And, if he sees David lay a hand on
her, Victor orders J.T. to throw the bum out. Panicked, J.T. calls
Paul to say that Victor is all over him. Any news? Well, Paul's got a
photo that he knows has been cropped and so he called the newspaper
which is sending him the original. "Think there's a link?" J.T.
wonders.
With Amber telling Katherine that she's thinking of leaving town,
Katherine calls it running away and if she does Phyllis will have won.
Michael put the bite on Phyllis and Nick about why they printed that
article. Nick doesn't want to talk about, but Michael knows it was
Jack who did the dirty work. Getting Nick alone, Victoria says that if
he isn't living at the ranch she doesn't want to either. Nick
reaffirmed that he's moving out.
On the phone,
Adam is talking to someone about Skye. It seems no one has seen her.
Meanwhile, Brad informs David that Jill knows about his gambling
problem and Jill says she's going to the board. David threatens that
if that happens he'll have a few things to tell the board too. This
made Jill suspicious of Brad until Brad talked her out of it.
After Victoria Introduced David to all the guests, David reports that
they raised more money than expected and couldn't have done it without
his beautiful wife, Nikki.
Getting Victoria and Nick alone, Victor told them to be at the ranch
tomorrow for a very important announcement.
Gloria wonders how she can be sure that Jeff doesn't have the toxic
skin cream. Jeff assures her he doesn't, and that his credit card
company called to say that she called to check on charges made to the
card for his Korean trip. That's when Gloria saw on the news the story
about David the gambler employed by Jabot Cosmetics.
Outside the gala, Heather sends a lot attendant to fetch something
from her car unaware that Walter is watching. At the same time, David
is on the phone confirming that an insurance policy on Nikki has been
activated. That task accomplished, David suggests to Nikki that they
leave, but she's not ready.
With Sharon still excited that people won't stop asking her about the
magazine, Nick tells her that Jack is out of control and it's only a
matter of time before they'll be hit with a lawsuit. Meantime, Jack is
telling Sabrina that the article doesn't appear to have hurt her and
that it was he who ran the article in order to sell magazines. Sabrina
said that someone did get hurt; Nick!
Looking at that ring again, when Lily comes to his side Cane says this
is the most important night of his life. He wants Lily at his side for
always and just when it seems he'll pop the question, Chloe interrupts
and won't leave. "Just say it!" Lily spits, and so Chloe did. She's
pregnant and Cane is the father.
With the news everywhere, Jeff is certain that Jabot is done for.
Gloria sees it as the time to buy Jabot stock while the price is low.
They won't be going to the gala; there is much business to be
discussed.
Also on the news is a report that Skye Lockhart is thought to be
missing when she didn't show up for work. On the balcony kissing
Heather at the time, when Adam goes to get more drinks, Walter slips
up behind Heather to ask if it's a nice party.
With Paul looking at the original photo, David is putting something in
a drink and stirring it with a knife before Nikki comes over. Giving
her another song and dance, David proposes a toast and Nikki looks at
the drink.
Show #8945 - 07.25.08
- Director: Sally McDonald
Exterior sequences directed by Anthony Morina
On the phone,
at coffee shop crime solvers headquarters, Paul is learning something
from someone which leads him to believe that David killed Ji Min.
At the gala, seen spiking Nikki's ginger ale, David takes it to her
and makes a toast. She changed his life, he won't contest the divorce,
and still loves her. Nothing has changed for Nikki; she can't take any
more of his lying. David understands, and say that after tonight he'll
be out of her life forever. They clink glasses and Nikki drinks.
Meantime, Neil is telling Ana and Karen that Devon is majoring in
music and he fully expects Devon to knock 'em dead when it comes time
for Ana and Devon to sing.
Lily thinks Chloe is crazy. If she's pregnant, the baby could be
anyone's. Whatever, Lily says that Chloe can't break her and Cane up.
Telling Sharon again that Jack must be stopped, Nick is shocked when
she says Jack saved the magazine, and why would she help Nick? She's
on Jack's side. Upset, Nick walks away as Jack looks on apparently
having heard what Sharon said.
Phyllis and Lauren were chit-chatting when Nick came over to tell
Phyllis what Sharon said.
With Katherine, Jill says that Victoria and Sabrina did a good job
putting the gala together when David comes over asking to speak with
Katherine alone. He thinks Nikki is drinking, and Katherine says she
thought something like that would happen.
With Brad, Jill worries that if word about David's gambling habit gets
out Jabot stock will drop. Brad says they could go to Katherine, but
she'd only protect David.
With Heather, Walter says he saw her looking at him in the parking
lot. Heather denies it. She doesn't know him, and doesn't want to know
him. Walter leaves and when Adam returns Heather tells him that Walter
hit on her. Adam isn't surprised because she's so hot.
Kevin is
looking for Jana, Daniel is eating carrots, Amber is chomping on
celery as Jana informs Victoria and Sabrina that they've run out of
champagne and wants to order more. There's some question as to the
cost when Victor comes along to say they can charge it to his bill.
Also there, J.T. gets a call from Paul telling him about the photo and
Paul's theory that because David is in the photo it means that Ji Min
wanted to expand his US business, but pulled out at the last minute
which upset Walter and his Mob pals. Paul goes on to say that David
went to Ji Min's hotel room, killed him, and tried to make it look
like Victor did it.
Hearing enough, J.T. assumed there's enough evidence now to take to
Nikki. Yes, J.T. is right, as Paul told him to get Nikki away from the
Gala ASAP.
Jill got a call from a newspaper reporter asking if the rumor about
David is true. Jill stalled, got rid of the reporter, then told Brad
that David has become a problem.
While Adam reports to Heather that his goal to expose David has
succeeded, Michael is getting a call from someone about a "package"
being ready which he then tells Victor who tells Sabrina that he must
leave. If he doesn't get back in time, he'll send a car for her and
asked that Lauren keep an eye on Sabrina.
David and Katherine found a tipsy Nikki on the patio. Has she been
drinking? Nikki says no. David wants to take her home, Nikki says
okay, but first she needs to use the potty. David thanks Katherine for
helping, then outside waiting for the limo is surprised that it's not
the regular driver who says the agency sent him as a replacement.
Back inside, as Jack sputters about ordering more magazine print runs,
Nikki stumbles by. J.T. grabs her, says there's something important he
needs to talk with her about, and takes her away.
At home, Lily can't understand Chloe; she makes no sense. Cane wonders
if Lily thinks Chloe is telling the truth. No, Lily doesn't. She
believes Cane.
Devon is still nervous about singing when Neil asks a not sure she's
worthy of being there Tyra to dance. Across the room, Dave is asking
Nick if he's seen Nikki. Nick hasn't, so David asks that if he does to
tell Nikki the limo is waiting.
Jack thanked Sharon for sticking up for him. She's proud of him for
running that article.
At the ranch,
Michael and Victor walk in to a waiting Phillipe who thinks Victor
wants to buy some art. What Victor wants is to know what Phillipe
knows about the Professor and the article about Sabrina. All Phillipe
knows is that it was Jack who he discussed Sabrina with.
As Neil and Tyra dance, Jana tells Kevin about ordering the champagne
which Kevin snickers was Jana's way to save the day. Kevin mentions
too that Daniel is talking about moving to California when Jana says
she's found the perfect place for her and Kevin to get married -
Malibu!
David asked Katherine where Nikki is. She doesn't know so he goes off
and Jill comes over to tell about the call she got. Word is out about
David; but then Katherine knew, didn't she? Katherine says they've got
to be very careful how they handle this. Jill says it's too late, and
Katherine adds that Nikki has fallen off the wagon too.
J.T. took Nikki to the Outhouse and moments later Paul was there. J.T.
lied to Nikki about the baby being sick as if Nikki could be of any
help. But then she's stoned.
Introduced an underprivileged "students", with a choir for backup,
Devon and Ana dazzle the crowd after which Victoria tells Nick she had
no idea Devon could sing. All Nick knows is that Victoria has done
such a great job she'll be asked to chair all charity events for the
next fifty years. Well, so long as she doesn't have to work with
Sabrina, Victoria could handle that. And then the article topic came
up again. And then Nick said it was Jack who published it. And then
Victoria had to rush off looking for Sabrina.
Amber managed to pin Phyllis down long enough to call her a bitch.
Phyllis threw it back at her for sleeping with another man while she
was dating Daniel. Amber said it only happened once and the bottom
line was that Phyllis is glad her son dumped Amber.
Telling Nikki his theory now, Paul's not making any headway as Nikki
is slurring and falling down and talking about getting a divorce from
David. Finally, Paul got a clue. Has Nikki been drinking? Ginger ale?
Who gave it to her? David?
Waiting with the limo, David leaves a phone message for Nikki. Sabrina
comes along to ask if she can catch a ride since wherever David is
going the ranch is on his way. David only agreed when Sabrina pleaded
with him. Both victims inside, the driver makes a call to report same.
As the limo drives off, Victoria comes out a day late and dollar
short.
Suddenly Paul can tell there's something seriously wrong with Nikki.
He orders J.T. to call the hospital and say he's bringing in a woman
who has "ingested an unknown drug."
Up at the main house, Phillipe told Victor that Sabrina used him to
advance her career. Without him, she'd be lucky to get a job waiting
tables. Having heard enough, Victor dismissed Phillipe with a "have a
nice day" despite the darkness. Then Victor sent Sabrina a text
message which she got. He's sorry for not being there to drive her
home, but he'll make it up to her later. Smiling, Sabrina closes her
phone. Ahead on the highway bright lights are coming straight for the
limo. There's the sound of a car crash and people screaming.
