Nighttime in
Genoa City, Jack and Sharon are at RSM happy to learn that sales have
exceeded expectations. See what happens when you put out "four extra
editions" in a few days? Alas, Sharon can tell there's something going
on inside Jack. Does he have a heart in there? You mean where Victor
is concerned? Yes, he does. He wouldn't wish what Victor is going
through on his worst enemy.
At the hospital, Victoria and Nick are in the waiting area. Daddy
seems so distant. This surprises her? Nick assumes that Victor does
what he does during times of crisis because letting his kids in on his
feelings make it too real. Now where is Nikki? She's not answering her
phone. They know she'll want to see Victor. Nick apparently forgot he
told her to stay home and rest, and yet when Nikki finds out that
Sabrina died they'll have to talk her out of seeing Victor.
Had they only looked into Sabrina's room like everyone else has,
Victoria and Nick would have seen Nikki there with Victor. She's so
sorry. She wants to be Victor's friend. He can lean on her, and she
understands that he holds her responsible. Grabbing Nikki's arm so
hard she cries out in pain, Victor bellowed. How dare she come into
Sabrina's room? Does she understand that Sabrina's dead body is an
arm's reach away? Nikki has Sabrina's blood on her hands, and Victor
says he can't stand her.
Ana and Devon are at the coffee shop waiting on Karen when she walks
in to ask what they want to see her about. Meanwhile at home, Neil is
telling Tyra that his boss' wife died tonight. Tyra thinks he should
go to Victor, who Neil says needs a friend right now. "You're a good
man," Tyra added, as Neil went on to say that he and Victor go back a
long way. Victor was there for him when Dru died, and to this day Neil
asks himself why it had to happen to him, his wife, and his family.
Holding Neil's hand, Tyra urges him to keep talking.
Nikki knows that Victor is in so much pain; her heart goes out to him.
Just then a moving crew arrives to take the body away. Kissing Sabrina
on the head, Victor pulls the sheet over her face, puts his hands over
his face, and cries.
After giving more statements to the Press, Jack told Sharon he sent
flowers to the ranch, but someone there refused delivery. Sharon
suspects that Victor's hate has grown worse since the article, put
that he should know their publishing it was nothing personal.
Telling Karen
that he couldn't get into music school because of his bad ear, Devon
wants to quit school. Music is his passion since singing at the gala
made him feel so alive; so empowered that he can do anything, like
becoming a composer. Ana chimes in to say that he can write songs for
her, Karen says he should follow his dream, and Ana adds that Oprah
says follow your way. To make a long story short, Devon wants Karen to
break the news to Neil!
Now Neil's telling Tyra about how Dru died. He left out the part about
never having found Dru's body, and Tyra didn't ask, though she wonders
how Neil kept going. Neil said he drank, and he still feels the pain
today.
Sharon wonders if Jack is worried about Victor coming after him. Jack
said no, but Sharon wasn't so sure. She knows Victor. Well, if Victor
is expecting to get an apology, Jack says it won't come from him.
Sabrina on a gurney now, Victor kisses the sheet, and leaving the room
Nikki comes to him. There's so much she wants to say. Victor doesn't
want to hear it. David Chow was a "no good son of a bitch". Nikki
wouldn't listen. If she had, Sabrina would be alive and Victor holds
her responsible. Hearing this, Nick and Victoria gasp.
Neil hasn't talked about the day Dru died in a long time; not even
with Karen, who Neil says he doesn't always connect with. So what
about Tyra? What about Ana's father? Tyra said nobody's really cared
for her like Neil cared for Dru. As for Ana's father, he didn't mean
much. Neil gave Tyra a hug just as Ana, Karen and Devon walked in.
So, Sharon wants to know if Jack is anticipating a battle with Victor.
Jack says, as a warrior, he's learned never to let his guard down.
Hmmm. Warrior. The term turns Sharon on. It's so, "sexy". She likes
that Jack takes chances and she's going home now - alone.
Nikki alludes to David being dead as the end of it. No! Victor yelled
that she set the monster loose! But, but, we're family, Nikki whines,
and as Sabrina's body rolls past them Victor says he'll never forgive
Nikki for this. Sabrina loved him like no other woman. Now she's on
her way to the morgue where a tag will be hung on her toe and she'll
be stuck in a drawer. Victor wishes it was Nikki stuck in a drawer!
Neil was happy
to see Karen with his family, but not happy when Devon said he wants
to drop out of school and into music.
Nick and Victoria took Nikki back to the outhouse. Nick lit into her
about going to the hospital, but Nikki said she owed it to Victor; she
knows him better than Victor knows himself. He was Sabrina's "guardian
angel". Sure, he'll lash out for awhile, but when he's done hurting
his family, he'll hurt himself.
Victor went to the gallery. Looking around at the stuff on Sabrina's
desk, he put on a CD of opera music so loud Jack could hear it
upstairs and, of course, Jack had to go down for a look.
Drop out of school? Is Devon nuts? After all Neil and Dru invested in
him? How will Devon support himself if he doesn't get an education
first? Will Devon been eating out of chili cans? No, Neil won't allow
it. Karen asked him to listen to Devon; he wants to follow his dreams.
Neil gave him the "tools" to go out in the world and find himself.
Giving Karen a look as if to say are you an idiot, Neil relented;
he'll think about it.
Nikki wants to go back to "her place". Nick and Victoria won't hear of
it. Who will she talk to? Who will Victoria talk to? Oh, that's right.
Nikki plum forgot about Victoria's loss.
Jack walks into the gallery.
Neil is pissed that Karen did Devon's dirty work. He feels
"railroaded". Gosh, Karen wonders. Is Neil angry? No. Sabrina died
today. Sabrina Newman? How many Sabrina's does Karen know? Oops,
thought to be going down for the night, Ana interrupts to tell Neil
that she feels like his home is her home. "It may be someday," Neil
said, as Karen pulled Tyra outside to say that it's good for Neil to
have family around, but now that Tyra has a job shouldn't she be
looking for a place of her own? If Tyra needs help finding a place,
Karen can help. Get the hint?
Outside the outhouse house, Nick and Victoria can't get over the
terrible things Victor said to mommy and there's likely more to come.
Out of the blue, Victoria says the morphine made Nikki "vulnerable".
Could she fall off the wagon? By gosh, at that moment Nikki was inside
saying the serenity prayer.
Jack came, he saw, he left without Victor seeing him. The music still
blaring, Victor is leaning back in a chair - crying.
Show #8952 - 08.05.08
- Director: Sally McDonald
The coffee shop is jumping today, Jana's a busy girl
now that Michael has asked her to help with Sabrina's funeral. Just
learning of this, Kevin can't understand why Jana would agree to help
when it's not her responsibility. When will Jana grieve? Why don't
Nick and Victoria make the arrangements? Because, Jana said, Victor
doesn't want the kids involved. Besides, Jana owes it to Sabrina who
was such a good friend to her.
Also there, Paul asks J.T. how Victoria is doing and how Victor "is
holding up?" J.T. doesn't know about Victor; he won't return his
calls. By the way, has J.T. heard about the horse David gave Nikki?
He's going now to the stables to help load the horse in a trailer for
transport to its new home.
Out at the ranch, Adam thinks Victor is going on a trip. There are
bags by the door. But after Adam asked, Victor disappeared when there
was a knock at the door. Seems the bags were packed with Sabrina'
stuff which Victor donated to charity.
Back at the coffee shop, Daniel, Amber, Colleen, Cane, Lily and Chloe
are talking about David Chow and whether Chloe is really pregnant.
Chloe wants to pick Daniel's brain about some RSM ideas she has, he
told her to run them by Nick and Phyllis, but then agreed to discuss
them with Chloe who announced she's having morning sickness. Sick? Is
Chloe pregnant, Daniel wondered.
At home with Tyra who is circling want ads, Devon wants to know if
Neil told her about his wanting to drop out of school. No, he didn't,
but shouldn't Devon get a degree first.
Jana has joined the group wondering why Chloe would say that Cane is
the father of her baby. Kevin doesn't know much except that Daniel
isn't sleeping well now that he's moved back with him and Jana. Lily
thinks Chloe is crazy.
On the phone with Adam, Heather says there's nothing new on the
disappearance of Skye. Adam reports giving the NYPD information about
Skye, but adds he may be overreacting as Michael pounds on the door.
Let inside, Michael learns that Victor is giving Sabrina's stuff away
and asks who's lame idea was that. Victor reappears to say it was his
idea, and leaves again.
At the stables with a guy named Frank, Paul tells him that Nikki may
be buying another horse and thanks him for helping get the horse in
the trailer. Then there's the call to Nikki to report the horse is off
to a new home, and when he hangs up Paul smells something fishy. Frank
smells it too, and entering the paddock starts ripping up floor
boards.
Michael informs Victor that the funeral is tomorrow.
Is there anything special Victor would like at it? Music, etc.? Zoned
out, Victor says whatever as Michael goes on to say he called
Sabrina's mother to tell her about the funeral, that Zara is on some
remote island not sure she can make the funeral, and that she learned
of the death in the news. Didn't Victor call her? No! Victor said that
Zara wasn't one of Sabrina's favorite people, so why would he call? At
any rate, Michael says Sabrina's friends will be at the funeral,
wonders what type of service Victor wants, and Victor walks away
without answering.
Amber was surprised too that Jana is helping with the funeral. Jana
wishes she didn't have to, but Sabrina was nice to her, and oh yeah,
Kevin has moved up their wedding date. At the same time, Daniel is
trying to understand what RSM ideas Chloe has, but she's too
distracted gawking at Cane and so Daniel goes over to chat with Lily.
Neil is with Tyra now telling Devon to get a job and stay in school so
he doesn't end up waiting on tables. Devon complained that they were
"ganging" up on him, took off to be with Cane and Lily, and when he
was gone Neil fretted that Devon must hate him, but still Neil would
like to kick Devon's ass for being so stupid. Thank the gods Neil's
got Tyra there. He needs all the help he can get.
Showing up at the ranch, J.T. asked Michael how the funeral
arrangements were going, then told Victor that he's got security
watching the ranch 24/7 to guard against reporters and that he'll see
Victor at the funeral. Whatever, Victor walked off again leaving J.T.
to say Victor's demeanor is not healthy.
Lily told Daniel that Cane is not the daddy and that Chloe is crazy.
Daniel understands; he's on Lily's side. Lily told him too that
Colleen told her about Amber and the Professor; that the pain won't
last; and look at them. After their divorce she and Daniel moved on.
Meantime, Chloe is still watching Cane who warned her not to upset
Lily or there will be big problems. Chloe told him about showing Lily
the ultrasound and that Lily must believe Cane is the daddy or else
she wouldn't be so angry.
When Paul saw the dead body he ordered Frank to call the cops.
Finding Tyra checking the ads, Neil asked what's up? She and Ana are
moving!
The crime scene yellow-taped by cops, Paul told J.T. that the body was
chopped up. Teeth and fingers are missing. Gosh, could it be more of
David's handiwork? It wouldn't surprise Paul who gave Heather a call
who called Adam.
Cane's worried. Did Chloe upset Lily by showing her
the ultrasound? Lily said it's no big deal. What she's upset about is
that Cane continues allowing Chloe to call the shots. Colleen came
along to say that if they want, if she's pregnant, she'll kick Chloe
out.
With Heather at the coffee shop, Adam is sure the
body can't be Skye's. Heather's going to the crime scene. Adam says
he's going too - and they do.
Now it's Devon's turn to ask Chloe if she's pregnant. What? Lily
didn't tell him? Meanwhile, because Jana says life is too short, Kevin
informs her and Amber that they're getting married in California.
Since Amber is the maid of honor, can she make it that far? She can.
Telling Victor again that the funeral is tomorrow, Michael wants to
know if he can drive Victor. No, Victor will make his own
arrangements, thank you. As Victor is busy writing something, Michael
demands that he stop shutting people out. "Are you into grief
counseling now - or what?" Victor grunted, and when Michael tried to
press on, Victor bellowed, "Are you finished!"
With Heather at the stables now, Paul said they won't know whose body
it is until the cops complete a DNA test. And the DNA will be compared
to what? Paul didn't say.
Now the Professor is at the coffee shop telling Amber he's sorry for
walking in on her and Daniel the other day. Woe is he. His second
writing career is over and he didn't even write that damn article
about Sabrina.
Neil got a call from the office. Reporters are all over the place and
he must be going. Oh, is Tyra moving? Yes, she says it's time she
found a place of her own. But, but, Tyra. Why not stay longer? The
more money she saves the better place she can move to. While she's
doing that she can be a good influence on Devon. How about it? Tyra
said she'd think about it.
Now Michael's at the coffee shop. Jana pounces. What does he think
Sabrina would like at her funeral? Anything Jana decides will be fine.
Agreeing that Chloe must be stopped, Lily stomps over and tells Chloe
to take a DNA test and prove the baby is Cane's.
Moving fast, Kevin told Jana that he's made their wedding plans. The
knot will be tied a week from Friday in Malibu. He's even found a
spiritual sanctuary where they can burn incense and eat beans and
everything! Oh Kevin, you da man!
The Professor has news for Amber. He can't get tenure at GC University
and so he's decided to go to Maine to teach. As he and Amber hug,
Daniel looks on as Colleen asks if Daniel would like to go out on a
date with her.
For as meticulous as the killer was, he didn't see the Harvard ring
hanging around Skye's neck fall off into the hay. But the sharp-eyed
PIs did and now they've got it.
Back at the ranch, Victor is looking at the earring he gave Sabrina as
part of a matching set. After having a flashback to when he found it,
Victor gazed outside the window as if to suggest there's something out
there he needs to find.
Show #8953 - 08.06.08
- Director: Susan Strickler
Hop on the bus, Gus. Make a new plan, Sam. It's J.T.
and Victoria at the Outhouse getting ready for the funeral when Nick
and Phyllis arrive. Nick wishes this was an ordinary visit, but it's
not. Nikki is there too, but she's not going to the funeral and
doesn't need Nick baby-sitting her. Nick's focus should be on his
father and sister. Calling J.T., Paul wants to know how Nikki is doing
and says he'll be by later to sit with her while the others are at the
funeral.
Up at the main house, Adam greets Victor with a "morning, Sir," and
tells him about the cops finding Skye's body at the stables. Victor
wonders if he's serious. As a heart attack, and Adam knows it was
David who murdered Skye. He also knows what Victor must be going
through as Victor walks off.
At the chapel, Katherine is talking to God. She's been around, seen a
lot. What she doesn't get is why God takes those much too young to
die. The way He took Sabrina was cruel. And shaking her finger,
Katherine says when she meets God they'll have a long talk.
With Michael at the coffee shop, Paul tells of having received a
message about a guy named Baldwin who is being held at the Ashland
County Jail. Also there, Daniel is sketching Sabrina from a photo he
has of her when Jana comes over to say how lovely. Yes, Daniel was
commissioned by Sabrina to make the sketch as a surprise for Victor.
Does Jana think Victor will like it? She does.
At home, Devon and Ana are writing music as Neil prepares to go to the
funeral. When Neil says his boss' wife died, Ana perks up. That nice
lady from the gala? With Tyra helping with his tie, Neil responds to
Devon's pity party pertaining to his fake ear as Karen arrives in time
to see Tyra adjusting Neil's tie.
Phyllis and Nick got into a discussion about what Jack will do next at
the magazine. Nick is concerned because his name, Nick's, appears on
the masthead and he's responsible for what goes into RSM. True, but
Phyllis reminds him they can always opt out.
Now Michael doesn't know what to do. See his father? Not see his
father? Decisions, decisions. Kevin recommends that he go see and get
some answers. Lauren is worried that Michael will obsess no matter
what he does, and Michael adds that he sort of has to as knowing where
he came from will make him a better person. Kevin agrees: "Knowledge
is power".
Phyllis says that Jack is a dictator and Sharon a follower as that
discussion ends when J.T. announces that Reed is waiting in the car
and Nikki offers to watch the baby. There's talk about upsetting
Victor and Nick saying he can be upset all he wants, but they aren't
going anywhere. Then, it's off to the funeral. Moments later, in comes
Paul.
Adam is worried that Victor isn't eating and offers
to have the cook make him a sandwich. Victor declines. He's on his
laptop, distracted as Adam says he misses Sabrina and that she loved
Victor so. Annoyed, Victor asked to be left alone, Adam went away and
then there was someone at the door.
Daniel came to deliver the sketch! It's in an envelope. Victor takes
it, doesn't open it, thanks "Mr. Romalotti" for coming, and then asked
if Daniel would mind showing himself out.
Karen is going with Neil to the funeral, but wants to wait while Devon
and Ana sing a quick tune. It's not great enough to pay the rent, but
Ana quips, "We'll make millions with our first song" as Karen gives
her approval. With Neil and Karen gone, Ana asked Tyra, "Isn't Karen
great?" Oh yeah, "She's something alright," Tyra sneered.
Jill has joined Katherine at the chapel. She mentions a need to talk
about Jabot and Katherine blew a gasket. Not here, not now. Nikki is
hurting. What's Jill's rush wanting Nikki out of Jabot? Looking up,
Jill sees Brad. "What are you doing here?" she seethed. Brad came to
pay his respects, and to tell Jill that they will talk about
the CEO position.
Victoria and company came in and she had to say that she never
expected to be there because of Sabrina. Brad comes over to say he's
sorry for the loss and to rub most of them the wrong way. Phyllis
wants to know how Nick is "holding up" because he was so quiet in the
car. Nick's holding up fine; he's been thinking about Jack. They will
not sell out to Jack.
Michael and Lauren were next to arrive along with Kevin and Jana.
Michael was upset that food he ordered catered was not delivered. And
more from Lauren on her worry that Michael will find something out
about his father that he doesn't want to know. Adam arrives. Nick
wants to know how Victor is doing; how is Adam doing? He lost someone
too? Yes, Skye is dead. David Chow "butchered" her. Then Adam blames
Nikki. She brought David to Genoa City. It's not true, but what does
Adam know of the truth? Nick is bent out of shape. How dare Adam?
Well, Adam dares. He told Nick, "You are your mother's son," and then
wonders what's wrong with Nick and Victoria. No calls, no visits.
Damn.
Paul told Nikki about the body being found under the horse's paddock
and that it looked like David did it. Nikki is shocked. There's a
knock on the door. Delivery for Mrs. Chow. David's ashes in a
cardboard box!
Also at the chapel, a Ken Winston locates Daniel. He
wants to discuss with Daniel showing his work and gives Daniel a card.
Meantime, Victoria is asking Jill if she'll encourage Nikki to go back
to work. Is Victoria crazy? The last thing Jabot needs is more bad PR.
Well. If Nikki doesn't go back to Jabot, Victoria won't either.
Arriving next, Neil thanks Karen for coming along. She knows he's not
thrilled that she's supporting Devon, and he mentions that Tyra is
looking for a place of her own. So, wasn't that the plan? In fact,
Karen suggested it. What! Neil flipped, but Nick defused the situation
by asking if Neil has seen Victor. He hasn't.
Paul is so sorry. He told the funeral home to call first. And now
Nikki is bawling.
Adam is trying to reach Victor on his phone to no avail. Everyone it
seems is asking where Victor is. The pastor walks in to inform that
the funeral was canceled. What? Yes, Victor held a private funeral
earlier. No guests were on hand.
Back at the ranch, Adam, Phyllis, Nick, J.T. and Victoria are looking
for Victor. Where could he be? Nick thinks Adam knows, but won't say.
Adam says if he did know, he wouldn't tell and the boys nearly got
into a scrap.
Still at the chapel, Michael is instructing the caterers to give the
food to some homeless shelter, as Neil and Karen get into it about why
she'd suggest Tyra move and Karen asking why Neil is holding Tyra
back. Michael made a decision. He's going to the jail. Would Kevin
like to go along? He would.
Looking at the ashes, Nikki tells Paul she wants to take a nap. She
doesn't need him sitting her. Paul can go, and he does, leaving her
alone to look at a bottle of booze and then saying a prayer.
Back at home, Devon, with Roxanne now, and Ana pounce on Neil and
Karen. Would they like to hear another song? It's a longer song this
time followed by a musical interlude with tears rolling down Karen's
face, Michael and Kevin looking to be on their way to the jail, Daniel
looking at the messages on his phone from Amber, Adam looking at a
photo of Skye on his phone, Victoria opening the envelope containing
the sketch, Katherine going into the outhouse looking for Nikki, not
finding her but seeing the booze, and Nikki arriving at - the stables
where she crossed the police line and contaminated the crime scene
with David's ashes!
And there's Victor getting on a bus. Dressed in black, wearing shades,
he looks out the window and has images of being next to Sabrina's
casket. The camera zooming out wide, the rear of the bus can be seen
rolling down the highway.
Show #8954 - 08.07.08
- Director: Dean LaMont
The search for Victor is on. At the ranch, Nick,
Victoria, J.T., Adam and Paul report that they've been doing their
part, calling Victor's phone, he doesn't answer, they leave messages,
the bus depot has been checked, the airport, and oh yeah, Paul checked
to see if Victor has used his credit cards, he hasn't, and for now
there's been no sign of Victor.
Down at the Outhouse, Katherine informs Nikki that the funeral was
canceled. Nikki is aghast; Victor didn't tell anyone? He must be in
more pain than she thought. What Katherine wants to know is where
Nikki was last night. She came by after the funeral, saw the booze,
did Nikki fall off the wagon?
Outside Cane's new home, Neil is asking why he hasn't heard from Lily.
What's up with the marriage proposal? Inside, Chloe and Lily are
looking on the Internet for a way to collect DNA.
At the Ashland County Jail, Michael and Kevin get into an argument
about whether Michael should go through with meeting his father. Kevin
wins out; Michael will go through with it.
Paul has a theory. Victor met "foul play". David Chow had Mob buddies
who want to tie up all the loose ends. Nick thinks though that Victor
was simply robbed.
Cane told Neil that the time wasn't right, what with the gala and all.
Okay with that, Neil leaves and inside Lily reports that she found a
company that tests DNA and will come to the house to collect it.
Nikki didn't fall off the wagon, but she came close. The morphine gave
her a craving for booze. Oh, and Paul found a body at the stables
where she tossed David's ashes on a big pile of manure.
"You know who I am?" Michael asked who he thought was Lowell. "You're
my son," the man says, as Michael goes on to ask why he ran out on him
and his mother. The man said he was on the run from the law. He fled
to Canada. It was the hardest thing he ever did.
Cane had to pay a "rush fee", but the DNA people assured him that the
test results are "one hundred percent accurate".
At the ranch too, Jana has flowers she's taking to
Sabrina's grave! How does she know where the grave is? She just knows.
Would Victoria like to go with her? Sabrina would want her to. Sorry,
Victoria's got more important matters to deal with. At the same time,
Neil has been summoned. There's talk about whether Victor is capable
of suicide, and Neil says Victor is too proud to take his own life.
Whatever happened, Paul concludes that either Victor is off on his
own, or he's in danger.
Michael wants to know what Gloria was like. The man says it's been a
long time, but the Gloria he knew was "indescribable". Pressing on,
Michael wonders; surely the man can say more than that about his own
"sister". Well, she was one hell of a sister, the man says. Ah ha!
Caught in Michael's trap. The man is not Michael's father.
At the dirt grave, Jana places a healing crystal on it and soon
Victoria and J.T. arrive. Jana told Victoria she knows that Victoria
loved Sabrina and that Sabrina loved her too. They were in each
other's heart. It was a friendship the likes of which Jana has never
known. When Jana left, Victoria and J.T. got on their knees.
In a flash, the DNA guy was there to take Chloe's blood and Cane's
spit. Nothing is needed from the baby. In a few days they'll know if
Cane can be ruled out as the father. Cane is worried that the samples
might be tampered with; Chloe resents the implication, and when the
guy leaves Chloe's jokes about "sugarcane" and "sugar daddy cane" as
Lily shoves her out the door.
Nick wants to call the FBI. Adam says no - bad PR for Newman
Enterprises if they did that. Nick gets bent. He calls Adam "a little
punk" and Adam taunts him. Nick resents Adam because he feels Adam has
replaced him; he's been cut out of the will and this is Nick's way of
lashing out. What? Nick didn't know about the will? He does now, but
says it doesn't matter. What Nick thinks is that Adam fears NE stock
will drop if word about Victor gets out. Adam is no part of this
family. "I am family!" Adam retorts as they get into a scuffle which
has to be broken up by Paul and Neil.
Victoria is talking to the grave. She's crying and saying how selfish
she was. She recalls when she and Sabrina smelled flowers in Venice.
No wonder Victor loved Sabrina. Who wouldn't? Asking J.T. if Sabrina
can hear her, J.T. says she can and Victoria says she'll never forget
Sabrina as they leave.
Worried about Jabot stock, Nikki says she must step down. Nonsense!
Katherine won't hear of it. Jabot stock will go back up. No, Nikki
says she must quit.
The man is impersonating Lowell. So where is the real Lowell? All the
man knows is that the last time he saw Lowell, fifteen years ago, he
was alive. They switched ID's because they looked so much alike.
Lowell is now going by the name Richard Gerick. Just then a guard came
over to say there's a warrant out for Gerick's arrest. He's wanted for
murder.
Returning to the ranch, Victoria wants to know what
happened. Nothing much. Just a fight with Adam. What is Adam's
problem, Victoria wonders. Nick told Victoria that they are out of the
will. Did she know that? She did, but with all the chaos it slipped
her mind and right now she must go tell Nikki about Victor. Paul
requests that J.T. stay with him, he does, and they theorize what
could have happened to Victor. Is Victor out for revenge?
Informing Kevin that Lowell is psychotic, Michael cries. At least
Lowell once spoke of him as his son.
Back at the coffee shop, Jana is surprised to learn from Chloe that
she and Cane are getting married. Does Lily know? Does Cane know? Not
yet, but Cane will, Chloe said.
Discussing business with Adam, Neil wants him to take a leading role
at NE during Victor's absence. Adam said he appreciates that Neil is a
great and loyal employee, but he's not a Newman. As such, Adam's doing
more than taking a role - he's taking over!
Cane and Lily are eating Chinese. Lily wonders if
they have Chinese food in Australia. Cane says they do, but mostly
they eat kangaroo. Oh, Lily thought that was so funny. Reaching into a
bag, Cane pulls out a fortune cookie. Lily cracks it open and out
comes the ring! Will she marry Cane? She will!
Kevin reports to Michael that Paul called about Victor's
disappearance. Damn, Michael knew he shouldn't have left Genoa City.
Must. Get. Back. No! Kevin says finding Richard Gerick is more
important.
Spotting Neil at the coffee shop, Jana tells him about Chloe's baby
and that Cane must be the daddy.
Learning from Victoria that Victor has "vanished", Nikki is stunned.
Katherine not so much. She thinks Victor will be back. Thinking that
if Victor will take a call from her, Nikki dials his number.
Show #8955 - 08.08.08
- Director: Sally McDonald
At the ranch, Paul and J.T. are giving Adam, Nick
and Neil an update on Victor. He's hasn't made any ATM withdrawals or
used his credit cards. He did leave the safe open after cleaning it
out, however. Plus, there have been no ransom calls, so that's a good
thing. As for the business, Adam says he can handle it. Neil chimes in
to say he thought Victor left him in charge. Nick tells them to stop
worrying about Newman Enterprises.
The third issue of RSM continuing to sell like hot cakes, Jack tells
Sharon they've got to find something that can top the Sabrina story.
Sharon adds that she's been swamped with calls about celebrities
wanting to be on the cover.
At Jabot, Jill was happy when Cane broke the news of his engagement to
Lily. As a wedding gift, Jill plans to name Cane CEO.
With Adam now, Neil is talking business. A deal Adam is working on is
great, but they've got to hold off until after the presidential
election. Catching the maid, Adam tells her that Heather will be
joining him for dinner and that he wants the chef to prepare grilled
salmon. Well, nice to see the tragedy hasn't interfered with Adam's
social life, Neil sneered before his phone rang. It's Lily. She just
got out of class. Neil wants to talk with her later - alone. Hanging
up, Neil has a flashback to Jana telling him that Chloe is pregnant
with Cane's baby.
The coffee shop finds Nick and Phyllis talking about Adam, who Phyllis
calls an idiot. Summoned earlier, Brad shows up to learn from Nick
that Jack has become a problem. He'd like to buy Jack out, but doesn't
have the money. Would Brad like to buy in?
Watching Heather's press conference on a computer, Jack and Sharon
learn that the Ji Min murder has been solved thanks to Paul and J.T.
That David Chow was responsible gave Jack an idea for a story in the
next issue. Though Sharon was hesitant because the story would involve
"people we care about", she went along with the idea so long as Jack
doesn't make a fiasco out of it. Jack promised he won't, and it was
Sharon who suggested that to make the story really great Jack will
need Nikki's help.
At the outhouse, Nikki is getting an update from Paul about Victor.
She's convinced that if Victor doesn't want to be found he won't be,
then goes on to say she's been reliving her conversations with David.
How could she have been so stupid? She can't trust her own judgment
anymore. Paul's solution to that is for Nikki to go back to work. Her
telling him that she's quitting Jabot is not the Nikki he knew. That
Nikki was a fighter.
Wow, Nick must really hate Jack if he wants Brad's help. Phyllis
cautions that if Brad buys in he would only be a "silent partner". Not
that it matters, Brad said he's not interested.
So how does being CEO grab Cane? Jill wants to know. Of course, she'll
have to clean the David Chow mess up first before making the
announcement of Cane's good fortune. Gosh, Cane is taken aback. Here
all this time he saw himself as a "blue collar" worker, and look at
him now. Yes, Cane has done good. His name be Ashby, but Jill says
he's a Chancellor through and through. Thanks, Ma. Cane will make her
and grandma "proud".
Showing up at the outhouse, Jack laid his idea on
Nikki and it went over like a lead balloon. "Is this a sick joke?"
Nikki spat. He wants her to relive the worst year of her life? No, she
won't cooperate. No matter. Jack says the story will run with, or
without, her help. As an after thought, Nikki told Jack that Victor is
missing. Jack wasn't surprised. You could drop an atomic bomb on Genoa
City and afterwards Victor and the cockroaches would still be alive.
At the coffee house, Paul and J.T. theorize. J.T. says that Victor
could be anywhere; he has a lot of enemies. Paul thinks the Mob is
involved when his phone rings. One of his contacts reports they've
triangulated Victor's cell phone. It's in the vicinity of Sun Rich
Crossing and - Evergreen Cemetery! You mean? Where Sabrina is buried?
Gosh, why didn't they think of that?
In Jill's office, Brad wants to know when she's naming him CEO. "When
the time is right," Jill says. She won't give a specific date, but
Brad is not to worry. He will be "well taken care of".
Lily is having a flashback of Cane giving her the ring and asking her
to marry him when Neil arrives to say he found out that Chloe is
pregnant with Cane's baby. Just then Cane blows in. So, Neil asked, is
it true?
Nick is frustrated. He should be doing more to find Victor. Nikki
calls. Jack asked her to help him with a story about David. Hanging
up, Nick told Phyllis, "I'm gonna go kick Jack's ass".
Back at the ranch, Heather wants to know if Adam saw her press
conference. He did. It was most impressive. Then Adam tells her about
Victor going missing and for her not to tell anyone. Heather suspects
that someone "took" Victor. Adam says he's been going through Victor's
computer looking for clues, but hasn't found any. He knows too that
Victor is "a good man" and he so wants to be like Victor. Heather
wants to call the cops. No! Didn't she hear what Adam just said?
Paul and J.T. are at Sabrina's grave. They're
calling Victor's phone. Hear that? Try again. Hear it? There! Under
the ground! Digging with their hands, the boys find Victor's phone,
his medication, and wallet.
Cane said that Chloe might be pregnant, but he never slept with her.
He'd never cheat on Neil's daughter no matter how drunk he was. Lily
asserts that Chloe is crazy.
Jack reports back to Sharon that Nikki told him to drop dead. Yeah,
Sharon kinda thought she would. In comes Nick. "You son of a bitch!"
Easy boy. Calm down. This will be a straight story. What the hell?
Does Jack think Nick would selling out his family in order to sell a
few magazines? If he has to, Nick says he'll go to the printer before
publication of the next issue to personally check every page if he has
to.
Brad is checking with the secretary about something
pertaining to Cane. The secretary rats Jill out, and Brad calls Jack.
Back again, Paul informs Nikki that they found Victor's stuff.
Back with Neil, who says it'll be interesting to see the DNA report,
Cane's phone rings. Chloe has been admitted to the hospital.
Complications with her pregnancy. So why was Cane called? Chloe listed
him as the baby's father.
With Sharon at the coffee shop now, Jack said to hell with Nick. He's
going forward with the story anyway. They'll find a way around Phyllis
and Nick. Along comes Brad. How would Jack like to do an expose on
Jill? She knew about David before it became public. Oh really? Tell us
more, Bradley.
Adam surmises that Victor needed time to be alone though he couldn't
bare the thought of losing Victor. What Adam must do, what Victor
would want, is for him to protect the business and that's exactly what
Adam intends to do.
At the same time, J.T. is bringing Victoria up to speed on what they
found, while with Nikki, his aluminum briefcase in tow, Paul informs
Nikki that he's doing all he can to find Victor. Nikki blames herself,
and when Paul leaves picks up a photo of herself and Victor together
when they were young.
Flash to a bar. Someone is taking a shot of tequila, then another. Who
could it be?
