Remember When
Collections

I've looked everywhere without success for documentation that Sharon Newman Abbott ever knew her husband Nick had a rock collection. Only one person I know can recall that Sharon and Nick once discussed said collection, and while I don't like to tell anyone they're wrong, especially when I can't say for absolute certain, I've got to say this person may have been confused. What Nick may have been discussing with Sharon are the rocks in her head.

My search wasn't for not, however. Lots of collections turned up. For example, there's the Newman art collection. It came out during the reliquary search that all these years the Newman's collected art and there is, apparently, a Newman art museum somewhere in Genoa City.

Then there's Victor Newman's snowflake collection. The great man kept paper snowflakes in his desk drawer and for all anyone knows, still does. There is too the model car collection Victor keeps in his Ponderosa den and showed a while back to his easily impressed grandson Noah Newman.

More recently, there's Daniel Romalotti's porn collection which has gotten him in Dutch with his pornographic wife. Lily, who prostituted herself out to Kevin Fisher and caught an STD when she let Kevin put the pork to her.

It's rumored too that J.T. Hellstrom has a porn collection and his latest babe, the woman who could be carrying his baby, Victoria Newman Carlton's former step-mother, Ashley Abbott has a collection of candles. In April of 2004, when Ashley was married to Victoria's former husband, hubby Brad Carlton told her it looked as though she'd lit her entire collection of candles prior to their having a romantic interlude. Brad was quick to point out that one candle was missing, however. The candle Ashley had given him when Abby Newman Carlton was born.

Other collections include the God Have Mercy Medical Center's collection agency which a few years ago demanded Bobby Marsino pay his wife's medical bill and was the first time any patient struggled to pay for services rendered. Okay, so it was the GHMMC's billing department, but a collection department by any other name is still a collection agency.

Speaking of Bobby, he said in 2004 that his Aunt Betty had a collection of operas.

There is too Fred Hodges' collection of show tunes, Dru Winters' collection of hats, Christine 'Bug' Blair's DVD collection, of which her favorite CD is Danny Romalotti's one and only hit, and who remembers the Bug's rock collection? It's true, sort of.

In 2003, when the Bug moved out of the office she shared with Michael Baldwin, Baldwin showed up at the condo where the Bug was shacked up with Paul Williams, who had since moved out after another spat with the critter and only hours before Danny's arrival from Europe who came to thank the Bug for helping him get Daniel Romalotti away from Phyllis Summers and to check on his sister whose RoadKill Cafe had been burned to the ground by Kevin. Baldwin told the Bug he had brought with him her "collection of rocks" but he was speaking of the books she'd left at the office; books she'd never read.

For as extensive as collections in Genoa City are, there is no conclusive proof, besides what we know now, that Nick Newman ever collected rocks.
