Remember When - 2001

Nick & Sharon Newman's Dead Baby

October 29, 2001

Baby what a big surprise!

Mrs. Sharon Newman gave birth to a premature baby girl here Monday after a medical team, led by Dr. Olivia Winters, worked feverishly to ascertain the patient's status. "How do you feel now?" Mrs. Newman was asked as she was being wheeled into the emergency room. "What happened?" Dr. Winters asked whipping out a special stethoscope used to listen to unborn babies.

It came as no surprise that Mrs. Newman didn't know how she was other than having fallen. Even Newman's functionally illiterate husband had asked earlier, "are you okay?" when he found his wife sprawled unconscious on the floor of their home and moments later said all the noise Mrs. Newman had heard prior to falling was a tire on his car going flat!

As his wife complained to the doctor about severe cramps Mr. Newman rushed off to give blood. With eyes squinted, Dr. Winters proclaimed the patient was in fact having contractions and ordered Mrs. Newman off to surgery.

In a flash, Dr. Winters emerged to tell waiting family members that Mrs. Newman had given birth to another preemie. The baby girl was said to be "viable and getting special care."

A bit under the weather, Mrs. Newman was all but up and walking around just moments later. Told her baby is a girl, Mrs. Newman seemed extraordinarily pleased as a girl was exactly what her first child, Cassie, had wanted. Even when she asked to see her baby and was told no, Mrs. Newman seemed satisfied so long as the baby was healthy.
