Remember When - 1990

Jack Abbott had decided to get revenge against Victor Newman for buying Jabot by marring Newman's ex-wife, Nikki. At the time Nikki was playing kissy face with Dr. Jim Grainger. Jack showered Nikki with expensive dinners and gifts only to discover Victor was planning to propose again to her. But that didn't stop Jack. He took Nikki on a romantic vacation and the two were married upon returning to Genoa City.

Victor, suspicious of Abbott's motives, offered to return control of Jabot to the Abbotts if Jack would agree to divorce his new bride. Jack wanted Jabot more than anything else so he agreed to the deal. Always devious, Victor took advantage of a loophole in the contract and the deal was voided.

When Nikki found out her husband would rather have Jabot over her she made plans to divorce him but changed her mind when Jack rescued her daughter, Victoria, from drowning in the pool. But later, she realized her heart still belonged to Victor. Unfortunately, her hopes for getting back with the great man fell apart when she turned up pregnant. The pressure of living in an unhappy marriage caused her to turn to alcohol.

Brad Carlton went after his ex-wife Traci's sister, Ashley Abbott. It wasn't long until he had proposed marriage. But before Abbott could give him an answer, Traci returned to Genoa City, intent on getting Brad back. Confused, Ashley left town for a stay at her remote cabin. Victor also visited the cabin. The two convinced themselves that they were still in love and got married. Cassandra Rawlins, Brad's former girlfriend, sought revenge against Brad for rejecting her, Jack was upset Victor was now his brother in-law, and Nikki was so frazzled she miscarried and developed a chronic back problem. She turned to pain pills and became hooked.

Elsewhere in Genoa City, Gina' Roma's new husband, Clint Radison, was training a local diner waitress named Marge on how to impersonate the rich Katherine Chancellor Sterling. Later, Clint kidnapped Katherine and her maid, Esther, and held them hostage in a remote cabin. As "Katherine", Marge sold off several valuable Chancellor assets which surprised Katherine's friends and family. Rex Sterling found himself so confused by his wife's unusual behavior he moved out and took up with Jill Abbott, who convinced him to divorce Katherine and marry her.

Marge and her partners in crime were just about to become very wealthy by selling off the Chancellor estate when Katherine's son, Brock Reynolds, dropped into the picture and figured out what was going on. Demanding to know his mom's whereabouts, Marge broke down and confessed, which led to Katherine's and Esther's rescue. Clint was arrested.

Katherine freaked when she found out Rex had married Jill. The marriage wasn't legal but Katherine agreed to accept it provided they wait six months before legally remarrying. During the waiting period, Jill began seeing her ex-husband, John Abbott and Rex took up with Leanna Love posing as a man named Roger. Katherine blew everyone's cover when she arranged a party where she took delight in watching Jill and Rex's love lives burst apart.

Paul Williams, thought to be dead at the time, was working with his father, Carl, to expose Cassandra and her lover Adrian as the murders of her husband, George Rawlins. Paul and Carl followed the two to Bermuda, where they tormented Cassandra with visions of Paul as a ghost. Cassandra quickly returned home and confessed that on the night when George was murdered, she was knocked out. When she came around, there was a gun in her hand and her husband was dead. With Cassandra's help, Paul and Carl succeeded in exposing Adrian as George's killer.

Although Lauren Fenmore still had feelings for Paul, she agreed to marry Dr. Scott Grainger. After the marriage, Lauren miscarried, which troubled Scott because he didn't even know she had been pregnant! Meanwhile, Sheila Carter, a nurse who worked with Scott at the hospital and was attracted to him, suggested that Lauren still loved Paul. Lauren and Scott agreed to a temporary separation but later agreed to give their marriage another chance. By then, Sheila had announced to Scott she was pregnant with his baby. At the same time, Lauren announced she too was pregnant.

Skip and Carol Evans arranged to adopt a baby from a troubled, unwed mom named Nan, who didn't know if her child had been fathered by her boyfriend, Jeff, or a man who had raped her. After her baby was born and in Skip's and Carol's loving home, Nan discovered that Jeff was the father. Nan won back custody of her baby, but had second thoughts about motherhood when she and Jeff learned how much responsibility was involved. Eventually, they returned the baby to Skip and Carol.

Nathan Hastings had his pocket picked by street-wise young woman named Drucilla Barber, the niece of Abbott maid, Mamie Johnson. Dru was troubled and illiterate. With Paul's help, Dru moved in with Nathan who tutored her. During the process, Dru fell in love with Nathan, but he was already dating Dru's sister, Olivia. When Olivia and Dru finally came face-to-face after five years apart, Dru, bitter that Olivia was the woman in Nathan's life, rejected her sister's attempt at a reconciliation. Dru began studying ballet and became more determined to steal Nathan away from Olivia.

Jill convinced her secretary, David Kimball, to romance Nina Webster so that Jill would have more time to visit her grandson, Phillip Chancellor. Eventually, David and Nina eloped. Nina set up David in business, and he began an affair with his secretary, Diane. Diane came across a newspaper clipping one day about heiress Rebecca Harper, who had been murdered by her husband, Tom. Oddly, the photograph of Tom looked like David. A woman named Vivian arrived in Genoa City, with the intent of exposing David but he electrocuted her in her bath before she was able to contact Nina. David also set a trap for Danny Romalotti because he and Christine Blair didn't approve of Nina's marriage. David arranged to make it look as if Danny was a cocaine user and had him arrested. The charges against Danny were later dropped and Romalotti later married Christine.
