The Beauty & The Beast - A Love Story
The End of an Era
October

Long
ago, there was a beautiful blond princess who loved to dance. When
she danced, her dance was sensuous, sultry, and she moved with
grace. Her smile was the smile of a angel. With long flowing blond
hair, she slowly moved gathering in the viewers to her soul.
What no one knew was that this beauty was naive, innocent,
promiscuous, and stuck in a life of prostitution. A street rat who
grew up in a twisted existence with a drunken father who attempted
to rape her, and was killed by her hand. And at her tender age,
murdered a five year old, and was never convicted.. Hired by a
modeling agency which was a front for a prostitution ring, she was
assigned to a small time hood named Cash.
This beauty was poor, came from the dark side of town, and danced in
a bar named the Bayou.. She was a stripper. She took her clothes off
for a living, but she had the body of a Venus with arms - and she
knew it. Though she came from nothing, her smile, her charisma, was
enough to melt even the toads among the frogs. And what no one knew,
was that at her tender age she had been married, divorced, remarried
and divorced yet again and like a cat in search of her prey was on
the prowl - again..
One night while she was working, a tall, dark, handsome debonair
millionaire walked into the bar by chance. As he gazed across the
room he noticed the dancer on the stage. He watched her move, he
watched her bump and grind; sensuous, sultry, intriguing - and
absolutely beautiful - for a stripper, he thought. His gaze caught
her eye, and they instantly got lost in each other. She danced for
him He was dashing, his dark eyes penetrating, mysterious - daring.
Her knight in shining armor. Her Prince.
When the music ended, she left the stage, and he quickly had a drink
sent to her. She reciprocated and graced him with her beauty. Her
name was Nikki Reed His name she learned was Victor Newman,
billionaire owner of Newman Enterprises. That was the beginning of
their courtship. That was the beginning of a lifetime together -
made in heaven, which was about to end - in hell.
Since then they had married, divorced, and remarried several times,
always to be each other's rock; always to save each other from death
or destruction. Even when they strayed from one another, they always
returned even more in love then before. After all, he was her ying,
she his yang; together they were whole.
So what happened to make this relationship fizzle? Though Victor was
totally committed to Nikki, and she to him, she was subservient to
him. He was the Lord of the Manor! He made the rules, he gave the
orders, and she followed like a kitten in chains.
Until recently, she didn't mind because she always thought of
herself as a victim. Lack of confidence in herself, and low self
esteem kept her in tow - and Victor knew it. Victor used it. It was
his weapon, his power of control over her. And Victor liked control.
Victor needed control of everything and everyone in his life. And he
never failed to pull out the stops when it was threatened. Never!
It started with Nikki and Phyllis owning NVP. From their it
escalated. Slowly but surely Nikki was beginning to morph like a
butterfly. Slowly she emerged from her cocoon of subservience to
open her wings and soar like a butterfly. Free! Self Confident! Her
self esteem restored enough to give her the courage to move onward
and upward - in her mind- to greatness.
Yet the higher she flew, the more wrath she took from her keeper.
Victor
was beginning to be threatened. Afraid of losing his control he
again pulled out the stops to humiliate, degrade and remind her from
whence she came. Back in tow, she obeyed temporarily until their
plot of trying to take Jack Abbott down blew up in Victor's face.
Nikki decided to run for the Senate seat opposite Jack Abbott! The
War of the Roses had begun. In his mind, the butterfly had become a
spider and drawn him into her web of deceit. The wrath of the beast
had fallen upon the beauty.
But it would not be her doom. The new Nikki Newman cut her hair and
was strong and confident - and had a new man in her life. She was a
survivor, a fighter. She fought for her independence - and won!
But where does this leave Victor? Until now, he always had her
loyalty. Until now, he never felt so abandoned. This feeling of
abandonment surfaced the doubts he had about himself. And as we know
from his past, whenever he is threatened he can become violent.
This was to be the beginning of the end of an era. The love story of
a beauty with a beast. This love story will be a love story like no
other, and when it ends, be remembered in time ad memoriam!
Newman
Stacks the Deck
March 13, 2007

Don't you love
how Genoa City businesses operate? Can you imagine the owner of Wal-Mart
pinning down a member of the Wal-Mart Board of Directors and asking for
his resignation merely because the owner needs an open seat on which to
plant another employee's fat ass?
Can you imagine too the current board member happily giving up the
position because he was promised a year's severance pay? Can you further
imagine the owner telling the board member that he can keep his stock too
as if to say that if the member doesn't agree to quit he'll lose his
stock?
You can't?
If you live in Genoa City though, you can.
In what is perhaps the most dangerous precedent setting business move in
Newman Enterprises history, Victor Newman did just that today.
For Newman, it was a coup. With right-hand man Neil Winters barking at his
heels for a seat on the board, with major new projects overwhelming the
company, with the Board of Directors about to be asked to approve or
disapprove of Jack Abbott's plan to dissolve satellite company NVP, Newman
needs to stack the deck! Or the board, in this case.
Once stacked with a lapdog like Neil Winters, Newman is apparently
confident he'll be able to manipulate the vote in his favor much the way
one would tamper with a jury. Without making it clear to his wife, who at
one time was part owner of NVP, Victor's reason for wanting Abbott to sell
off land that a chain of health and wellness spas sit on, not that any
landowner would have been dumb enough to sell the land in the first place,
Victor doesn't seem to know himself why he's doing it unless he's come up
with a reason to stick the knife deeper into Nikki Newman's back.
Of course, that Nikki allowed herself to get under Victor's thumb again
doesn't say much about her business acumen. No that she has any, Nikki
should have gotten her cow ass to a lawyer long ago. And not the ambulance
chasing Michael Baldwin.
And so, as we flip to page 1034 in the Newman handbook "How to Screw
Members of Your Family", we read where it says in subsection B,
when confronted with a betrayal of trust always fight back. Thus,
although she has no business being on the Newman Board even if she were to
be elected to it, Nikki declared today that she will fight Winters for the
seat.
You may be able to see too that you aren't supposed to have any knowledge
of why boards such as this exist. You are much too busy to actually care
because, well, this is Newman Enterprises where a pair of diaper-wearing
adults run the company. But if you know anything at all you know that
boards are comprised of a group of individuals that are elected by the
shareholders. They don't, as they've done at NE, vote amongst themselves
as to who will fill vacancies except in the case of the board chairman.
That's okay though. Put any conception you may have of reality out of your
mind and don't be surprised if Nikki has Vote-4-Me flyers made up and
posts a few on the wall at the Jitter Joint. Because as dumb as it gets,
it can't get any dumber than this - can it? |
