On the Street Where They Flop

by Brent Kellogg
January 30, 2008

With Lily Winters bellyaching of late that she needs to move out of daddy's home but can't move in with foster 'bro Devon Hamilton, I got to thinking back as to where it is exactly Devon lives.

It was October, 2006, when Daniel Romalotti giggled to his surrogate poppy that Devon had moved in with him and his lovely bride. Jack Abbott, saying that the Abbott mansion was crowded, and that the Abbott "playhouse" - since renamed the "shed" - had barely enough room for Daniel Romalotti and his new bride, was concerned that Devon living in such close proximately to Daniel and Lily might put a crimp in Daniel's sex life. It was then that Jack suddenly recalled a piece of property he said the Abbott's had owned long before sister Traci had become a Bon Bon-eating heifer.

Close to GCU, on the property sat a big house that Jack said the Abbott's had for years rented to students and as luck would have it, the students who were supposed to rent the place this year had bailed out at the last moment. Jack told Daniel that if he got off his ass he and his motley crew could have the place so long as it met Daniel's high standard of living.

And lo, but what it was.

Since they had nothing better to do at the time, since none of the kids had classes or jobs to be at, they all jumped for joy, checked the place out and said they'd take it. Within minutes Neil Winters had found out and was overjoyed as it meant his greatest fear - that Devon will go on the run again - had been slapped onto the back burner. On his knees, Neil profusely thanked Jack for giving his "children" a place to live.

No sooner had a worried that her "son" might run again too, Dru Winters returned from crying on Sharon Newman's shoulder, got the good word, and zoomed by to see the new place which also met her approval. If anything was wrong, it was that all the audible and visual equipment installed at great expense at the Winters' wooden box for Devon's hearing benefit would go to waste. Turned out that wasn't a problem as Neil said they'd install new equipment for which Lily was free to charge on daddy's credit card.

And so it was that Daniel and Lily moved into the house with Devon, Lily later kicked Daniel out when she discovered his addiction to porn, and later she herself moved in with daddy leaving Devon alone. Not that Devon worries about paying rent all by himself, Jack let all of them live there rent free.

You might be asking why Lily can't move in with Devon. Her desire that Cane Ashby will soon ask her to shack up with him aside, Lily may fear that Devon will hit on her.

In April, 2006, it was well known that Devon had "feelings" for Lily. It was a creepy situation given that Lily had just married Daniel and that the newlyweds had asked Devon to move into the shed with them and small as the shed was, Devon wouldn't mind hearing the bed posts rock at night. Not that he ever did, Daniel and Lily rarely had sex during their short marriage.

Learning of Devon's lust, Neil had no problem with it. "I understand you have feelings for Lily," he said, and never once discouraged Devon from pursing his feelings of incest, which his mother, Yolanda, had said it was okay to do because Devon and Lily aren't blood.
