Only in Genoa City is a man who just had a heart
transplant declared physically able to travel. The
physicians at God Have Mercy Hospital gave Victor
the green light to seek rehab in Belgium, but Nikki
doesn't want the mumbling man to get too upset by
making threats? What is wrong with this picture?
I don't recall seeing scenes where TGVN was ordered
to stay in bed for more than two minutes, nor did I
hear any doctor advising the man to use a pillow or
a teddy bear (which is usually provided by the
hospital) and hold it to his chest while he coughs,
in order to keep his sutures intact and reduce the
pain of having his chest cut open and his sternum
broken to reach his decaying heart and transplant it
with the heart of Colleen Carlton. Since Newman
expects the best quality items, he would demand to
have either a pillow or a teddy bear made of mink.
Most cardiac patients may have difficulty caring for
themselves after the call of nature and those
patients often require the assistance of a nurse or
a specially designed device to clean their behinds.
Newman would jump at the chance to have his nemesis
Jack Abbott as his personal butt cleaner, but some
behind-the-scenes researchers were asleep at the
switch, so to speak. Usually these patients also
have to be bathed in bed. Since Ashley would decline
the offer, perhaps Nikki could wash her former
spouse.
Bed rest for more than five minutes is required for
cardiac patients. The rules once again don't apply
to Mr. Newman. Instead, Victor has all but bounded
out of bed and is making plans to board a jet to
take him to his faraway rehab location. Anyone
flying on an airplane has the risk of developing
thrombi or blood clots, due to sitting for long
periods of time in the cramped seats and not being
able to move around a great deal. A person who just
had a heart transplant would be considered at a high
risk of developing thrombi in the area that was
recently repaired.
Of course, the Belgium location was selected because
the scribes were certain that Eric Braeden was
leaving Y&R and they had to find a way to get his
character out of the picture for awhile. Then,
Victor would have literally returned a changed man
had they planned on recasting the part. Braeden's
decision to remain on the show probably got the
writers' collective undies in a bind and caused them
severe brain damage
Instead, this laughably illogical reasoning and
writing is causing physical problems in viewers that
is located extremely distal, or further south than
their hearts. Watching this silly tripe is an
enormous pain in the ass for any viewer with an I.Q.
that is over room temperature. Come on, scribes,
have a heart! |
