There's a federal court in Genoa City? You've got to
be kidding. Maybe Madison, or even Oshkosh, but
Genoa City? Why the need to move River's case to a
"federal court" in Genoa City? Shouldn't he have
been extradited to whatever state the crime was
committed in? Instead he's going to get that same
judge that presides over all the Genoa City trials
whether they are federal cases or local ones. The
same judge who presides over murder trials, custody
cases and disputed wills.
So in the same week that Cane meets the brother he
never knew he had, Michael meets the sister he never
knew he had. What are the odds? Again, I digress. I
hope this isn't going to turn into some dumb teen
show. Eden is a real piece of work. If she were
dumped on my lap I'd pack her off to boarding school
so fast it would make your head spin. Michael and
Lauren could easily do the same. Just call Katherine
and Jill, they've got the number on speed dial.
How did Eden get enrolled in school if she'd never
been to school before? How do they even know what
grade she'd be in? Wouldn't she have to take all
kinds of placement tests? Boy, no wonder Sharon and
Nick didn't think it was a good idea for Noah to
switch to public school. Apparently they take
anybody off the street, no questions asked.
I'm a little confused about this party Eden and Noah
went to. I know time runs differently in Genoa City,
but on Tuesday when Kevin was grilling Katherine
about names and dates, Katherine correctly
identified the date as September 30th. Two days
later and there's a big party all the teens are
going to? On a Thursday night? And how early is
Noah's curfew anyway? Sharon called Nick to say that
Noah had missed his curfew but elsewhere people were
milling around in the coffee shop and Billy stopped
by Cane's house for a chat. That's some early curfew
Noah's got.
And what a lame party. Are these supposed to be the
"bad kids?" Because they have underage drinking at a
party on a school night with no parental
supervision, right? And yet, not a single one of
them was smoking? I think not. Please. When I was
that age, even my friends who didn't smoke would be
smoking at a party like that. You're either a
bad-ass or you're not, you can't have it both ways.
It's like the show is sending out some weird mixed
message because they dare not show kids smoking but
sneaking out of the house and drinking beer isn't so
bad.
It's almost unconventional for people to sleep
together in a bed these days so I was a little
surprised to see that Nick and Phyllis even have
one. I can't help but wonder if some of their
post-coital conversations sometimes get a little
awkward though. Like if Phyllis starts reminiscing
about being married to Danny Romalotti back when
Nick was still a baby. I know they play fast and
loose with ages on this show but if you've been
watching it long enough, it's hard to ignore that
Phyllis gave birth to Daniel only a few years after
Nikki had Nicholas. And now they're married. Weird.
