So it looks like Mac is back, and, oh my. She
certainly has changed, hasn't she? I don't know what
they were thinking when they cast Clementine Ford as
the new Mackenzie. You know me, I don't like to say
unkind things about people, but this girl looks like
something the cat dragged in. She may only be 30 in
real life but on this show she looks like she should
be playing Mac's mother. She's got bags under her
eyes big enough to carry groceries in. And she's a
good foot taller than all the previous Macs and
towers over Katherine now. She's got the snot face
down pat, though, I'll give her that. Truer to the
original character than the previous Mac anyway.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I sure
hope someone is going to sue that goddam DNA lab
where everyone goes to get their tests. The way they
give out conflicting results it's a wonder they stay
in business, even in a town like this. Are they ever
going to explain why the DNA test Katherine and Jill
took two years ago said they were mother and
daughter, and now the same test says they're not?
And that being the case, why believe the DNA test
that says Brock is Katherine's son? He might take
the test again in two years only to have it say he's
not like it did with Jill.
Now that Katherine's alive again, is everyone just
supposed to hand back their inheritances like
nothing happened? What if they spent it all? "Here
you go Katherine, here's all your money, stocks,
bonds and jewelry and controlling interest in your
company." Sure Nikki will probably give back the
jewels, and Mac, Brock and Esther will probably give
back the money she left them. But I don't know if
the rest of them are going to be so keen on forking
over the dough, especially Jill. She needs to get
herself a good lawyer. And the stock Katherine left
to Gloria has already changed hands twice. Good luck
getting that back.
I hope Katherine has better luck with Murphy than
she had with her last four husbands otherwise he's
going to wind up buried in the back yard like the
rest of them. I can tell you one thing already, he's
a dirty cheat at cards. While he and Katherine were
playing gin in bed he could clearly be seen
eyeballing her hand. But I guess at his age that's
about the most excitement he's likely to see in bed
with Katherine, or anyone else for that matter.
That doesn't appear to be the case with Noah. Was
that his cell phone vibrating or was he just glad to
see Eden? Now, I get that he's mad at his parents
and all, and who can blame him? The kid's not too
bright about keeping them at arm's length though. He
seems determined to do everything in his power to
insure they are looking for him at any given moment.
To that end, he's about as likely to get lucky with
Eden as Murphy is with Katherine. Why doesn't he
just tell his parents he's spending the night at
Sam's house? He did that every night for years and
they never came looking for him. They're not that
hard to fool.
And what is the special lure this cabin has for
people? No good ever comes from going there. It
ought to be condemned at this point. There's no cell
phone service, apparently no land line, and the
electricity cuts out every time it rains or snows.
Who the hell would go there? I'm not buying the
privacy factor of it either. Seems like anyone can
drive there in about five minutes. Eden and Noah
both have guardians who are never home and Noah has
access to both the Newman Ranch and the Abbott
mansion. What about the old playhouse where Billy
and Mac used to rendezvous? Nobody ever goes there
anymore. Comparatively, the cabin is Grand Central
Station.
